Fantastic as always. Staff were epic. Food superb. Top night!
Great food and excellent service, would go again. Had a lovely night out, it was my girlfriends birthday and she got a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival. Our waitress was attentive and funny which made it an even better experience
Same as always, brilliant! Food always a pleasue to eat. Service great too!
My milestone birthday celebration with my wife and daughter in Chester Côte. Very enjoyable, excellent food, not noisy like Sloane Square branch where we dined a couple of Sundays ago. Will definitely come and eat here again when I next visit Chester.
We introduced 2 of our friends to Cote on Wednesday. We were warmly greeted by the manager, Dean, whom we have had been very well served in the past. The food came well up to expectations, which is a relief when telling friends how good Cote is. The only slight matter that concerned me was that the waiter was the same one that served us on the last occasion who proved a little difficult over the cocktails. Our male friend asked for a dish of the cheaper lunch menu and requested a rib eye steak of the more expensive one. I had told him that this was acceptable as that is what I had done previously. The waiter told him in no uncertain terms that was not possible. I had to tell the waiter that if he charged at the higher rate there was no problem. He eventually understood. I feel that he was acting under instruction and probably should not be blamed but resented that he was not told that some customers do not mind paying a very small amount extra to obtain a dish he particularly enjoyed. I asked Dean what had happened previously over the cocktails. He explained that there has to be a record of our computer booking before they are allowed to serve cocktails despite the fact that I had a printed record that we had booked online. I asked how this could be remedied and was told that a telephone call in advance to ensure the restaurant had that record is advisable! May I suggest that head office looks into its systems as this is not the first time we have had this embarrasement. What is the point of booking online when it is not recorded?
I picked Cotes Brasserie after reading several excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. I originally booked a table for 5.00pm but the play we were seeing was late finishing so I rang the restaurant to explain that we would be a little late - not a problem. When we arrived, we were shown upstairs to a spacious dining area and ushered into a booth and offered drinks - our waiter was fabulous, very friendly and accommodating, recommending drinks and food. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name. He recommended the fougasse to start and it was as delicious as he said it would be - soft and fluffy, garlicky, buttery and herby. After this, we had 3 items off the lighter mains part of the menu - a tuna Nicoise, a chicken & walnut salad and risotto vert - and also the 1/2 Breton chicken with frites and french beans. All the food was delicious - clean plates all round! With a little room left, we all had desserts and coffee. With a few drinks, the total bill for 4 of us came to £122 - this included a 12% gratuity, which is of course discretionary. However, the wait staff had more earned it so we were happy to leave it on the bill. We thought this constituted great value, given what we had eaten and the service we had received. Thank you Cotes Brasserie - we will be back.
I visited this restaurant on a busy Friday night. I was quickly shown to my table and the recently changed specials were highlighted to me. The waiter suggested I might like to try the cocktail on the special menu. I did and it was excellent. I ordered a black pudding starter and a swordfish steak from the specials and they were both delicious. I’d ordered a glass of Cote du Rhône to go with the main course and was pleased that this was delivered to my table without me having to remind the waiter. I think that attending to small details like this really enhances the overall experience. The wine was full of flavour and very tasty. Another visit to the specials resulted in my ordering profiteroles for dessert. They were lovely and an excellent dessert wine complemented the dish. All in all I found the food to be very well cooked and presented and extremely tasty. The wine was great as well. In addition the service was efficient and friendly so I’m sure I’ll be returning very soon.
A great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is always freshly cooked and interesting. Like a local restaurant you’d find in most French towns. And a fair selection of different dishes to choose from on either the 2 menus of the day and the a la carte menu. We’ve been there about 8 times now and enjoyed it each time. There’s always fish available and despite my initial misgivings it was really tasty, crispy skin and just cooked flesh served with a nice celeriac purée. And the creme brûlée is among the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere. There’s also chicken , roast belly pork, steak and vegetarian options. The wines are ok and not too expensive. 3 course is a bit too much for me but no one else was over faced. There’s a menu at £10.95 for 2 courses and one for £14.95 for 2 courses both with added option of a dessert for an extra £3. So for the quality of food and service, this is very good value.
All the way from booking on-line, to the courtesy check on the booking, to the warm greeting on arrival, to the attentive service, to the amazing food, to the final words when leaving, the whole experience was nothing short of fantastic. Our service was provided by Dean, the asssistant General Manager who looked after our every need and guided us on the menu. The food served was presented impeccably and tasted amazing. We went for the Chateaubriand for our main and it was just divine. We have to say that our whole experience was possibly the best we have encountered for a long time. Thank you for helping make our stay in Chester more memorable and wish Dean and the team all the best. Keep up the fantastic work, we will certainly call in again when we come back to Chester.
On off chance booked for my Birthday lunch at Chester COTE after seeing advert on Facebook. It was a lovely experience . I had booked on line and when I arrived mentioned it was my Birthday and a complimentary Kir Royale was presented by a very attentive waiter( should of asked name). Though the place was very busy we asked to be seated upstairs lovely place decor etc. Was given time though busy to choose from Al a Carte as a new customer you receive a free bottle wine. Which was very nice. I chose an appetiser and the fish goujons and my husband onion soup and garlic chicken . Both courses delicious hot and delivered promptly . Chose a chocolate pudding and lemon tart both excellent. Will be returning soon . Great food and service.
