Great food and service. Staff were very helpful and were very polite but not always hovering around. Set menu great value and high standard also good variety.

Service was excellent, every member of staff were welcoming and extrememly friendly. The food was fantastic and the wait time for the food was also very good. Definitely visit again and recommend!

Service a little slow owing to restaurant being very busy and one large party, but good food and buzzy atmosphere. All in all a very pleasant evening.

In a gorgeous location overlooking Cathedral Green this lovely old building is full of charm and character. The menus are varied with dishes to suit all tastes and the Early Bird special menu is excellent value. Staff are efficient and friendly and the whole evening was delightful

We had a delicious dinner and a mots helpful girl to serve us. I had requested a table upstairs by the window (as we had an American visitor, although I hadn't mentioned this in my request) and we were very pleased to have a wonderful view of the cathedral green.

Excellent value for money. Consistently good service and good quality. Would recommend. We go there often as it's such a reasonable deal in pleasant surroundings

As always we were welcomed like dear friends. We have probably eaten there at least 75 times in the last three years. The service is impeccable and the food as ever, excellent. The chocolate mousse is the best, as is the fillet steak which we have every time!

Really enjoyable. Food well cooked, with quality ingredients. Attentive service but very busy, so food rather slow to appear. Mildly resent the 12.5% "optional" service charge automatically added to bill. Would certainly go back.

A very friendly,efficient service,consistently high quality for the set lunch. Tables were busy,but we were very well looked after,new menu cycle proved tasty,varied and balanced

Visiting Cote in Exeter was an excellent finish to a morning in the city. Had two starters and mains from the lunch time menu and, as always, the meals were top notch.

We had the Salmon Hollandaise and the Haddock with Lentils. The Salmon piece was very small and the seasoning for the Haddock was not balanced. It was over seasoned with Cider Vinegar (?). Otherwise all was fine. The beer selection was so disappointing that I chose water instead

Booked table successfully online, and despite arriving early we were able to sit down immediately in the usual convivial atmosphere. Service and food were good as expected and we enjoyed a relaxing evening out.

Went for breakfast which was delicious hot and nicely served went for the full works including jam juice and coffee. Really very good value as always.

One of the classier joints in Exeter, imho. Reception could have been better. None of the staff on duty seemed interested in us for a few minutes, and it was difficult to see whose attention we should attract. Soon enough one of them affixed the welcoming smile and we were well looked after thereafter. The food was excellent. Our Hungarian waiter was friendly and engaging and even managed to give the impression that we were his most important table. The toilets are unfortunately three flights below the 1st floor dining room, but the latter offers lovely views across Cathedral Square, and the art deco feel of the place is pretty cool. It was nice to see a range of diners - young and old, enjoying themselves. Definitely going again and again.

I love this restaurant. The food is always excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. I'm one of those annoying customers who arrives and announces they're in their lunch break and need to get in and out in an hour and they always do their best to help recommend quick dishes and ensure our order is taken swiftly, drinks are offered and the food arrives quickly. This really helps take the stress out of things which helps me focus on enjoying my lunch rather than having to watch the clock. Likewise I've been in the evening and enjoyed a relaxed romantic meal with no rush or pressure to move on. Great service. Highly recommended. The view across Cathedral Green from upstairs isn't bad either ;-)

Lovely food as always, beautiful view and friendly, welcoming staff. However appeared short staffed on this occasion so service was slower. The staff working, worked very hard and maintained their friendly calm approach, they looked very busy and there appeared to be less staff than usual.

The Online booking was extremely easy. The food and the Service was lovely and a great view of the cathedral from the prime window table.

Great food and good customer service as usual. Starter of pear and endive salad, main sea bream and ratatouille, followed by chocolate pot. All yummy and excellent value under the early evening menu.

We had a wonderful evening with a table in the window as requested. Good food and wine including complimentary kir royales. Staff very attentive but too many staff asking us the same questions: order? drinks? etc. However, overall a lovely evening! Thanks.

Food was average, my chicken was tough. Got a bit fed up with the Waiters constantly hitting my chair as they passed even though there was plenty of room. It's a chain restaurant without any soul or atmosphere.

As always, there was very friendly service with a buzz of efficiency. Consideration given to where we sat (as I am slightly disabled) and the food came through as delicious as always - hot and freshly cooked. No complaints at all.

Wonderful restaurant, very professional and efficient staff and the food is wonderful, real flavour and presentation. We took 2 American friends of our's to Cote's last Sunday as they had not been to Devon before and it was a perfect setting and meal and added to their really positive experiences of their time in the County. Thank you again and we will definitely be re booking ourselves in to come again very soon. We would recommend without reservation. Would love to see the restaurant offer local craft beers too as an option.

Another enjoyable meal at Cote this evening. Great service, nice atmosphere and lovely food as always. We enjoyed the 2 courses for £10.95 before 7pm - a nice treat for mid week.

Excellent staff service and friendliness good food with a great view busy and buzzing upstairs and have read reviews that it's too noisey but it was great and downstairs available for a quieter meal if needed will visit again when next in Exeter that's for sure cote is consistently good wherever you visit one and the staff in Exeter made it extra special.

We had a lovely time. We were given a table upstairs with perfect views of the cathedral. We opted for the set menu. Soup / Couscous/ Creme brûlée. All courses were delicious and the waiter Gerard was very attentive. We were looked after while we enjoyed our food. Merci

Pre-booked table was not ready on arrival resulting in a wait at the entrance, restaurant was uncomfortably warm. Service was good and food was excellent though.

Great food great staff lovely location I would definitely recommend this restaurant we weren't rushed for our table and we will be visiting again .

Very disappointing. I have eaten there often and as you would expect from a chain the food has always been predictable but very acceptable. This time however, we waited an hour (we were going to a concert so needed to eat and go) and finally were served some very poorly prepared food. Some of the asparagus was actually rotten and one of the main courses - grilled fish and mashed potato - was cold and had obviously been cooked a long time before. I have to commend the Manager who obviously saw our distress and we were not charged for the meal. I think he had a hard job that evening! I would be reluctant to return to what had previously been a standard pre or post concert venue.

A superb English Breakfast and French Breakfast with Fresh Orange Juice and Tea. All professionally served in the Exeter Sunshine overlooking the Cathedral. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning .

The restaurant is in a lovely location overlooking the cathedral. The food and service was very good. Upstairs can get a bit noisy when busy. Would go back again
