Côte Harpenden

Had early dinner on a set menu there tonight. . The food is good but portions are small and contain lots of vegetables and little meat. The starters on this set menu are great but the main courses, not so much. It is an expensive place to eat with drinks, dessert and coffee so this time we ordered water and one drink. The bill was still more than £30. There were not many customers there either this evening. I wonder if this is due to the price and the 12.5% tip already added to the bill?

Yet another perfect evening with a dinner served with great skill and enthusiasm. Everytime without fail the team present quality food and a reasonable price. Thanks again and keep up the good work

We always enjoy our "special" table at Cote Harpenden. Lovely caring and friendly staff and the usual manager is great.

The service was excellent, and the team went out of their way to make my mother-in-laws birthday an enjoyable one. Thanks so much, we all had a great time.

Food was fantastic and always a pleasure to dine at Cotes. The menu was a bit misleading when it came to the bill as it didn't add up. The bill was soon rectified and discount offered die to the misunderstanding. Staff great and very helpful.

Lovely food and wine. Good service. The restaurant was very quiet, only 12 people all night. It was a Tuesday.

Fantastic service and great team, easy to work with throughout booking. The team went to extra lengths to make sure our whole party was catered for.

The waitress made a mistake with our order as to the type of steak for one of the meals, however the restaurant manager offered to take that meal off of the bill if we accepted it rather than all of us waiting for another meal to be cooked. I am still giving 5 stars because of the quick way the problem was resolved and that all of our meals were really good.

Lovely meal, good atmosphere and attentive staff. Yet another visit that not disappointed, and as ever the Steak and Frites was the winning meal.

We both had an excellent meal at Cote, all the staff so helpful.

While the food was excellent, the service was very slow and being ignored by the staff to place an order which we had to nearly scream and shout to get their attention.

I visits this restaurant regularly because of the great food and excellent service. Tonight was such a disappointment for service.

We have dined at Cote Harpenden several times since it opened and it has always been very enjoyable. The restaurant was not very busy on our last visit and the staff had time to chat with us. We will return!

I do not agree with you gratuity system. It shouldn't be added automatically to the bill. It is my choice if and how much I give. If you charging a standard 12.5% for service I would not have booked a table. Although the serving staff were very pleasant, I didn't find them experienced.

Service ok but not as good as usual - bill incorrect (overcharged) and changed immediately but no apology just an excuse. Had veggie breakfast which was tasty but very very small piece of sourdough toast which was disappointing. And unable to substitute juice for another coffee with Formule 'deal' as system didn't allow it - Cote usually more flexible than other chains but not on this occasion!

Lovely meal. Great service. As it was our wedding anniversary, the staff kindly served us a complimentary glass of bubbly. What a nice touch. Made us feel very welcome. We will definitely revisit in the near future.

I am a Cote fan and this was another good meal. There really should be more than one waitress on duty on Thursday lunchtime. I had an elderly mother-in-law with me (her birthday) and service is important to that generation. The member of staff on duty was,nevertheless, very good. Keep up the good work.

Great food and fantastic service. Went for a family member’s birthday (this got mentioned in passing) and they arrived with a kir royale and ‘happy birthday’ decorated dessert which was a lovely thoughtful touch.

Good quality food in a nice atmosphere together with first class service from our waiter.

We loved the feel of the restaurant and the placement of our table. The meal and food choices were wonderful and the drink was also great. Our waiter was really attentive as well but not intrusive. We would definitely come back again. It was good not to be rushed off the table too. Thank you!

Fairly average food, ordered salad which didn’t arrive and still charged for and having subsequently check the price of the wine we ordered the mark up was ridiculous .
