Côte Lewes

Fabulous evening in our local restaurant Beautifully looked after as per normal but with some very thoughtful gestures given the nature of the evening. Food was great. A real treat.

A lovely venue, the food was as fantastic as ever and the service great. We went on a Friday evening and luckily booked before as the restaurant was totally full.

Have used a number of branches of Cote during the past few years. Dined at Lewes branch two consecutive evenings 23rd/24th October 2018. The first evening was brilliant, good service, good food served with a smile. The good thing about Cote is if you are in a strange town you always know what to expect when dining at Cote.

Lunchtime deal was good value and food tasty but the service was incredibly slow which was disappointing. Felt like they were going through the motions!

Very slow service for desert .Not enough staff on duty for very busy restaurant. My Wife and I have visited Cote in many locations and have never been disappointed. In my view there appeared to be no one being pro -active to mitigate service delays. This spoilt the usually excellent Cote experience. I

I was very impressed with this Cote. We eat at many of the London branches and this was superior. The staff were delightful and un-hassled. I sent back my starter as it was not cooked enough and was immediately brought another with speed and grace. The actual building was also delightful so all round an excellent experience and congratulations to the staff and the chef whose Hake dish was perfect!

We had to wait sometime for our drinks, and people who came in after us were served well for us. Part from that, the service was alright, and the waiter took a long time e planning the gluten free and lactose free options to one of our party whIch was most helpful.

2nd visit in 3 days, that's how good it is. Matches anything in Manchester and we have hundreds of good eating houses up there. Will try the Manchester branch soon.

We enjoyed our post opera evening meal at Cote, selecting a tasty cassoulet from a new selection of main courses. The service was excellent with careful attention being given to a member of our party who is gluten free.

We were a party of 8 adults and 4 young children. Service was attentive and the food was very good. There was a problem with a child's meal but it was dealt with very professionally. We all enjoyed the whole experience.

I am a great fan of Cote and shall be going there 3 times this week. The price and range of menu is excellent. Service and atmosphere in the Lewes one is always good.

Excellent food; service first class, despite being very busy; reminder received a couple of days ahead of booking was appreciated Would certainly commend to others.

Two friends and I wanted to have a catch-up over an early dinner. We used the basic menu and found plenty of choice. My aperitif was the French Martini, which was pretty and delicious. I chose pork loin because it came with celeriac remoulade. I would have been happy without the pork, actually. Then I ate creamy succulent hake, my only criticism being that, in my opinion, the haricot beans needed a little more cooking. I finished with the absolutely delicious creme caramel (again!) We all enjoyed our food and drink, but sitting in the large back room in Lewes I found the noise level quite high on this busy Friday evening.

Excellent food served politely in an attentive but not intrusive manner. Great atmosphere for a relaxed evening out with friends which did not break the bank!!

Brilliant evening for my birthday. Food always good but the staff really make the whole experience memorable, have to say our waiter Sultan wad so lovely helpful and extremely patient.

Excellent setting in the High Street, easily accessible from the station and with a welcoming ambience about the service offered by staff. Well worth a visit.

The September lunch menu was excellent, it was difficult to choose from such good options. We were well looked after and not hurried into making choices. Service good.

We liked the ambience and layout of the restaurant. Very comfortable and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food, as always, was good and represented good value for money.

Always a great friendly service with buzzing atmosphere. Food was very good as usual. Love the pate every time. My only gripe would be that the tables for 2 are quite small and sometimes difficult to get everything on there, especially as I like water with my dinner and wine. Does it stop me from going back - definitely not. Love it

Patchy cooking quality. Some ok. Some poor. Brighton Cote is much better. Very unimaginative vegetarian options despite a vegetarian menu - written by a non vegetarian perhaps?

Everything about Côte in Lewes is just fab....,staff who are friendly and remember you, food excellent and great wine choice. Whether it’s breakfast or evening meal justo”Great”

Another visit here and the standard of food is still very good. However a change in menu would be welcome for our next visit. Also there was a bit of a wait for our main course.

The food was very good and we did not feel under pressure with the service. It was a very relaxed atmospher and would recommed and visit again.

Excellent meal and service, as I have come to expect from Cote. The fixed menu of the day is very good value considering the quality.

First time in Cote Lewes, staff friendly, food was excellent, I had the Salmon, on the prestige early evening menu, nice atmosphere, will be going again, thanks had a great evening with friends.

We probably go here once a month and have never had a bad meal - or even a bad course. Service is excellent and before 7 there is a very good set menu reasonably priced. In fact you have a choice from 3 menus at that time of day!

As always a very comfortable night out at a restaurant where the service is invariably good with excellent food and subtle variations in menu month by month

Another really lovely evening here - food and service were excellent. The bottle of Creme de Bourgogne was lovely and the lemon sole cooked really perfectly.

We've been coming here regularly since it opened and sadly, on this occasion, food and service not up to the usual standard. The food presentation was sloppy (old watercress shoved on top of a piece of haddock, swimming in pea puree). Really disappointed as this was always a sure bet for us, in Lewes. I doubt we'll go back so readily.

Michelle the manager, has everything so well organised,...nothing could possibly go wrong! most enjoyable evening. From the moment we entered we had genuine smiles, during the meal ,smiles . And then a very warm "goodnight".

The service and the food were excellent a really good meal and very pleasant atmosphere. The only criticism was that we paid cash and had to wait a long time for the change to be brought back.

Very good food at a reasonable price. Delicious duck breast , but it would have benefited from some accompanying vegetables. I would recommend the chocolate fondant! Nice, busy ambience but rather overstretched waiting staff who did their very best to attend to the large number of guests. Overall a lovely evening.

Normally great experience slipped tonight - big delay (30 minutes) between starter and mains which didn’t all come together when they did arrive - graciously compensated by courtesy bottle of wine, but we’d have preferred the food in good time. And not at its best when it arrived - veal escalope which Cote normally excel at, was over cooked and gristly in places, pork belly not crisp. Hopefully just a blip on a very busy night.

We had the most brilliant waitress.. the restaurant had a fantastic french atmosphere.. beautiful food. Well done Cote Lewes. We Will be back very soon.

Third visit to Cote Brasserie Lewes Good service from friendly team and food consistently good on flavour and value. House wine reasonably priced and very palatable Another visit will be on the cards.

We visited Cote for my wife's birthday and although I had stated this on the reservation didn't think anymore of it. What a wonderful greeting we had on our arrival and after being seated were presented with 2 glasses of bubbly from an extremely smiley waitress . The ambionance was great . The food was very varied and the dishes that my wife and I had were delicious. The staff were very attentive ,presentation great and overall 10 out of 10. Thankyou

Was a treat for my daughters birthday. Customer service excellent- they even managed to do a birthday song and little treat for her. Very much appreciated

The place was buzzing. We had good food, great service and no pressure to free up the table. Friendly, relaxed vibe. All made for a very good evening. ☺️

Great service and food. It was our anniversary and they gave us complimentary fizz! Brilliant touch and very well received, I didn't ask for that they just surprised us

Good service, not rushed and very friendly. The menu has a good choice and the food arrived looking good and was extremely enjoyable. Highly recommended for an evening out

We arrived early for the set menu only to find most were not available and no alternative was given. This meant our overall bill was much more expensive having 1 course instead. Not good customer service as the following day the set menu featured those on the normal menu.

Excellent friendly service, and beautiful food, was celebrating our daughter's birthday, the meal was just perfect! Thank you! Would recommend and will come back again!
