Quality of good is dependable as ever. Staff welcoming and obliging - going back tonight! The music has now been turned down. It is also the busiest venue in Lewes.

The July special of tuna carpaccio was simply delicious and in our view should be a permanent addition to the menu. For a Monday evening the restaurant was buzzing, the staff friendly and attentive and the food was excellent.

Excellent value - three sensible sized courses for the same price as an over-large main course elsewhere. The evolving menu each month makes it worth coming back. Friendly staff and pleasant environment.

Amazing customer service. I would only add that it would have been good to have people ask if everything was ok or if we wanted anything g else more frequently

excellent apart from no steak knife offered and a whil e before we could get the attention of a waiter the food was very good and we look forward to returning soon

Poor, slow service, tasteless food and a strange ambience on this visit. A really disappointing visit this time, compared with other visits. Doubtful if will return!

Friday 8.15pm very busy and good atmosphere. Didn’t expect the 3 course deal on a. Friday evening. But very good. Mussels for me, calamari for my Wife. Pork belly and the Cod for mains. Good! And desert. Good value good service. Thouroughly enjoyed it. Good wine selection as well.

My problem with the Côte menu is that I like moreorless everything and so find it hard to choose! I had crunchy breaded calamari followed by succulent cod wrapped in bacon (from the prestige menu). I also had peach crumble, but shouldn't have done because I felt too full. (Portion sizes are good.) Côte do excellent decaf coffee. The others were very happy with their choices, too. The only slight disappointment was the wine. I think it was a white Picpoul, absolutely fine, but we struggled to find the melony citrussy flavours. Côte Lewes is in a beautifully restored building, making you feel you're in an elegant hotel dining room.

As usual excellent friendly knowledgeable service, but not obtrusive. A good wine, good company made for a special evening. We'll be back- and have already commended Cote to others.

Excellent as ever, lovely atmosphere, welcoming and professional staff , excellent choice of food. There is always a choice of new dishes each month as well as old favourites . Highly recommended.

Great service; delicious food. Tried July specials and pleased with choice but personally didn’t enjoy the spritz. Overall Reliable, consistent and of a high standard. Would definitely come again.

Food was very nice, service good - the only thing I didn’t like was having 12.5 0/0 service added to the bill - I think it was too high & should be optional

I had a really nice evening with a friend. Tasty steak. She had the cod and liked it too. Pleasant wine. Very good service as ever. Just what we wanted.

Fab food and service - we had a number of waiters/waitresses serve us but the Spanish girl from the Basque region was fantastic. We will be back for breakfast.

Lovely new addition to the restaurants in Lewes. Excellent service and great menu. Something to please everyone and the strawberry crepe was delicious! Will visit again without a doubt.

Was told we could not have complementary drinks which we were expecting as we were going to have special lunchtime menu. This was not made very clear at time of booking.Steak had to be returned as it was very tough,although it was changed without question .First time I have ever had to return something.overall not a very happy experience.will stick to my regular Cote in Brighton.

My wife felt that she had made a wrong choice with the breaded chicken and we were slightly overcharged on the bill due to the server presuming that we had had a drink that we had not!

Visited Côte Lewes for a Family Breakfast. The food was excellent and the choices suited us all with our different dietary requirements and good value.

Great service from very friendly staff. As a coeliac I really REALLY appreciated the care you take with that. Only suggestion was that the steak frite was too salty, meat not pink and a little tough. Desserts were to die for. Overall though a lovely lunch. Thanks.

Really lovely meal. Service was excellent, and the choice was wide ranging, so everyone could find something they liked, in fact, several of us had difficulty choosing a dish, as we liked almost all of them.

Our waitress Maitana was amazing, as we had limited time due to a cinema booking, she ensured the service was speedy and effecient to enable us to get there on time. Thank you!

The restaurant has certain areas without natural light, in one of which we were initially offered a table. However we were able to move to a better table and everything else was fine - the food was good and the staff most solicitous.

Two main courses were presented cold but were heated and re-presented : very disappointing. Waitress very pleasant but didn’t make herself clear regarding complimentary drinks.

Simple , friendly, very good at what they do. This is a nice chain of restaurants - always reliable. The Loews branch is very good.

Very good experience generally. However, have noticed before today that tables are too close together. You have to shout to make yourself heard. Two noisy people were put on table next to us when the rest of the restaurant was almost empty and plenty of tables available and we huttied our meal so we could leave.

The medium rare steaks were over cooked and the gluten free bread needs improvement , otherwise a good meal. Service was very attentive and friendly.

Excellent service and choice of food. On my last review I mentioned that the air conditioning was far too cold but on our latest visit this was not a problem. We had a very enjoyable experience.

My fish soup from the a la cart menu followed by the apple puff pastry was delicious- one of the best I had in a long time!

Excellent service, but the a la carte menu and week-end specials could be altered more. The week-day early evening menus are imaginative and very good value.

Extrememly pleasant evening with excellent food. We bagan at a table with a draft from the air conditioning but were moved to a nice alcove at the back of the restaurant.

All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. This made for a very relaxed and very enjoyable evening. We will certainly go to this restaurant again.

We enjoyed our evening visit to Cotes Brasserie in Lewes. Lovely ambience , good service, very professional and courteous and most of all good food. What’s not to like !

In my experiences at Cote Lewes both staff and food consistently good. If ever things are not quite as you hoped thier response is always one to put it right. They can bend the rules which is probably the thing most lacking in big chains of food places.

The restaurant was a wonderfully cool haven on a hot day and it was very pleasant to view Lewes through the tall recessed windows with their traditional wooden shutters. The meal and service were faultless.

Very helpful staff - got stuck in traffic jam and phoned to say would be late and was told not a problem. Food was excellent.

The restaurant was quite noisy, but we had a table by the window so much better. The food was delicious (Fish Stew) which we both had. The waiter Jean Victor was friendly although we had to ask twice for my wife's glass of wine, and my coffee was served before my dessert, he however rectified this. We both enjoyed our visit and will come again when we are in Lewes.

The staff at Cote are always very attentive and friendly. We all had fillet steak but mine was way over cooked and I sent it back. Consequently I was eating my meal after everyone else. The food was delicious though. I still think the service charge is high.

Service was good far better than my last visit. the moules were superb. Unfortunately the Beef borginon was rather dry a distinct lack of sauce.

Was excellent good food experienced staff nice relaxed atmosphere as always !!! Brighton branch has a better buzz as so much bigger!! Would recommend to anyone as I've been a chef in French cuisine for many years

Yet another lovely lunch at Cote Lewes. Friendly staff and as always, excellent food, and of course no visit is complete without having the Creme Caramel.
