The beetroot starter was not good at all. No skill in its preparation and far too much, not very tasty, beetroot. I was underwhelmed by the green risotto too. I was a big fan of cote when they first arrived on the scene. Based upon this meal I think they have seriously gone off the boil and I won't hurry back there.

It's a friendly family restaurant. However the service was slow, even though the staff were very nice. The menu wasn't particularly varied enough. The decor is lovely. I think though, it might be more suited to family or larger groups, anyway I would not disregard it because it is a very friendly place.

Noisy. Clumsy waitress, dropped fork in a water bowl at our table, then spilled out sauce on the table. Neglecting. No good service at all. My chicken felt a bit in cooked.

As always, fabulous food & wine at a reasonable price and excellent service! Will continue to go there regularly but will try and choose a time when it was less packed!

Can’t fault Cote as a restaurant, lovely food well served, a throughly enjoyable experience. It is our place of choice for meals that we want to be special.

Atmosphere was good. However, service was very slow and the bill was printed incorrectly. Also, a mussel (and sauce) was dropped on my partner, normally you would expect to receive some sort of gesture but, in this case, an apology was all that was offered.

was very busy so service wasn’t too great, the salmon was a bit dry but other than that it was a lovely evening. Would come again

Excellent, friendly service from arrival. We both ordered rump of lamb, medium, but unfortunately mine came very rare, it was sent back and my friend had to eat her dish whilst mine was further cooked till medium. It was delicious, but a shame about it not being correctly cooked in the first place.

Everything was fine - I didn't give them a 6 because the restaurant was a bit on the noisey side. Other than that, just fine.

The resturant was busy at lunchtime, but service was still efficient and relatively quick. My partner and I had the seafood casserole and the beef bourgeonon which qualified us for a free bottle of wine with the meal. Both dishes were tasty and well presented.

Good friendly, prompt service and the food was tasty, particularly so with the free bottle of wine. The chocolate tarte was delicious but the portion was too small and not enough!

Love this restaurant. Consistently good. Local and central. Staff excellent and food is always good. Great for family events and also for small cosy dinners. Lunch times and Dinner times can be busy so best to book.

Muswell hill has the usual good Côte fare with very friendly staff. Were a bit slow to take our order on this occasion, even though not too busy. Still recommende.

The staff are always friendly and responsive. The food is good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. However. recently we and most of the other diners were treated to a group's increasingly noisy (drunken) shouts and laughter. A manager should have asked them to turn their noise down and if they failed to do so, ask them to leave. Instead, one of our group had to intervene on behalf of everyone else and told them loudly to "shut up". He is a big man with a commanding manner and this may have helped because they immediately became quiet. However, this should have been dealt with by a manager, not a diner.

The food was, as usual, good and good value. However, the (senior?) waiter who served us was rather too quick with the bill and card payment machine - we were still drinking our wine, had not taken a long time and there were plenty of free tables...better customer care needed here!

Food was good, although service needed improving. We were offered olives and nibbles before drinks and it was only when our order was taken approx 15 mins later that we were asked about drinks. Our wine took its time to arrive, although the waiter did apologise. A tomato juice ordered never came and we had to chase for a refill of water.

Both of our meals were excellent, the sea bass was delicious and well presented the beef bourguignon was plentiful and very well cooked. The service was very attentive but unobtrusive. Overall, would I recommend this restaurant , yes I most certainly would. I am only sorry I am only visiting this area so will not be around very often, But will recommend to my friends who live nearby.

It was a busy Saturday evening, but our server made us feel very welcome. She found us a lovely table by the window. We ate from the specials menu and everything was well cooked and delicious. The January offer complimentary wine was delicious too. Great ambience.

Generally a pleasant experience but if you offer a free Kir as an aperitif as a birthday gift it should be made properly. The ones we had tasted like ordinary white sparkling wine and looked like it. When we questioned this, we were told that they put in very little cassis as it makes the aperitif too sweet. What nonsense! Also, inadequate chips came with the rather small half Breton chicken. However, the service was very good and we even got extra white chocolate auce to go with the iced berries. We had a charming waitress and the food was tasy and well displayed. A pleasant evening.

Generally quite good. Food good value for price. However, waiter dropped chips over floor when removing plates. Waiter also brought coffees before desserts - we had asked for them after. When this was pointed out she merely said some people prefer it that way.

My husband and I visited Cote in Muswell Hill for dinner on New Year's Eve. The only menu was a special set meal (of 'Hors d'Oeuvres' plus three courses) for £29.95 or £49.95 with wine pairings, pretty good value for such an occasion. Being non-drinkers, we were a little nonplussed at the poor selection of non-alcoholic beverages on offer, especially as the lemonade (one of my favourites) was 'out of stock' - I do think that restaurants need to up their game on the choice of non-alcoholic drinks or 'mocktails'. Having said that, we were well satisfied with the food: I had the charcuterie platter and Mushroom Cassoulet which were delicious and extremely generous portions; my husband had the Smoked Salmon Tartare followed by Duck Confit - both delicious too. We both finished off with the Crepe Grand Marnier - great end to the meal. (The Tarte Tatin, another dessert on the set menu, was - like the lemonade - unavailable. A shame, especially as we were dining at the start of the evening.) Coffees were delicious (nice and strong) and the price, almost £40 per head including service pretty good for a special occasion such as New Year's Eve. Apart from the quibble about the drinks, I have to remark on the state of the Gents' loos - filthy wet floor and no seat in the sole cubicle. I appreciate that responsibility for this rests in the first instance on other patrons, but the management has to keep the toilet facilities clean. As well that I visited the loos at the end of the evening. For that reason I only gave a rating of 4.

Excellent food and wine. The restaurant was short in staff but our waitress managed a flawless job. We will definitely be back at this restaurant and won't hesitate to recommend!
