Côte Newbury

Food was up to it’s usual very good standard. However, we were given a two seat table at the front of the restaurant, by the service area and it was incredibly noisy and disruptive, ( loud banging of coffee grinds especially irritating). Almost impossible to enjoy our conversation. Very chilly too with the draft of the entrance doors opening and closing.

Lovely meal as always - enjoyed in a very good atmosphere. The mussels in particular were great as was the pork tenderloin. Extremely good value especially with the free bottle of wine.

Great food, service and atmosphere, always a pleasure to dine at Côte.

We eat at Côte Brasserie Newbury often, but unusually this time the service was extremely slow and we had to leave before our main course after waiting over half an hour, because we had cinema tickets. The restaurant didn’t charge for our starters and glasses of wine, which we appreciated. We will eat there again, but will allow more time if we have to go on elsewhere.

Nice ambience with good food. Shame they only do burgers at weekends, my young son was disappointed as he enjoyed it last time we went.

As always a great breakfast in our favourite Restaurant in Newbury. It was a quiet for a Wednesday but lots going on to watch. We have never been let down and today was the usual standard of service and quality food.

Good food reasonably priced & good service. Perfect location in the centre of town with ample parking available. Would definitely consider a return visit to the restaurant.

Wonderful welcome by the team here at Cote Newbury. Very helpful. Great food and wine at affordable prices - but it's the team that makes this Brasserie special.

Good environment ,service very quick,waitress very pleasant and helpful. Food was well presented and was good to see a full Gluten Free menu all of which my wife fully enjoyed.

Usually very good but I felt there wasn’t as much choice on the 2 or 3 course set menu & my starter wasn’t very good

Staff lovely, food great, service great. We went in for breakfast with friends, not rushed to use the table again, even though people arriving for lunch.

Tasty food, a good range of menu options, great service and suitable for all the family. I had the minute steak and the crème brûlée which was heavenly. I have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed.

we were in a hurry and of to a night out at the local cinema. we ordered quickly and starters came promptly with a delicious main to follow. An adjustment to a dish was handled with ease. all tasty and great - thanks

We were served by an unusually surley girl who verged on rude. She obviously couldn’t be bothered and didn’t want to be there. I have always been under the impression that Cote staff are trained to behave courteously, with this particular girl the training failed. I was reprimanded for asking a boy in black to take our order as we had waited so long.

I always like eating at Cote Brasserie as I emjoy tradition French cuisine and that is what Cote dishes up. Absolutely first class. We always book a table through Quandoo so there is no waiting at the door to be seated. Once seated one is given the menus and offered a drink which is delivered promptly and then they give you time to decide with no pressure. The food is delivered suitably spaced out to allow one to eat at your own speed and converse with one's friends. The food is well prepared and served hot. No complaints here.

Cote staff are friendly. the food is reasonably priced and there is a choice of vegetarian food. We go there regularly and always enjoy it.

Conveniently located in the heart of Newbury's excellent shopping area, this restaurant is deceptively spacious inside. The service and food are to the same excellent standard characteristic of this chain. An enjoyable experience.

We go to Cotes because it’s generally consistently good. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service was good. Our main courses were excellent but the Citroen tart was disappointing- they removed it from the bill without fuss but nonetheless a little disappointing.

We added an additional person - going from 6 to 7 - very last minute on a busy Saturday evening and they fitted us all in without any problem or queries at all.

Rib eye over cooked. Replacement was fine but swam in a sea of blood as was not rested enough and obviously rushed it to our table. Mussels not the usual great ones we have. Taken off bill. Table next to woman did not eat her food and replacement and left. Shame as we like Cote and when you spend £150 for 4 people at Cote should be better.

We had a lovely evening with superb service and delicious food. It was busy but we never had to wait long between courses..perfect! Hope to visit again soon

Very attentive staff. Everyone enjoyed their choices from 2 of the early evening menus. We stayed rather a long time after other diners had left, but the atmosphere wasnt such that we felt urged to leave.

We had a small gathering of fiends for a lunchtime get together. The on line booking procedure was very simple to use which was a good start! Our welcome was delightful with a good table in a smart dining room with a very pleasant ambiance. The food was very well cooked and served promptly with hot plates. We all had calamari to start which was absolutely delicious with an excellent garlic dip on the side. For mains we enjoyed the half chicken and I had belly of pork which was outstanding with the most delicious crackling I have ever had. For pudding we all had the creme brûlée which was first class. The attention of the staff throughout was very sharp and friendly but not too familiar. I would say that the food, presentation, staff and ambiance all exceeded our expectations.

A lovely meal. Attentive, happy staff. Always a pleasure to eat at Cote. The set menu is exceptionally good value and portion sizes are generous.

Really friendly staff and lovely food made it a thoroughly enjoyable birthday meal with my family, the waiter also brought me a complimentary kir royale and put candles in my dessert.

Delicious food and great service. We had the Moules frites which were delicious followed by chocolate fondant which was yummy. My only complaint is that the round table for two is rather cramped.

Was seated quickly and service was prompt an efficient, friendly staff. I had made a request for a little candle in a cake for a bday, and they had organised this for me. Always like coming there.

I have visited many Cote restaurants and usually the service is very quick but it seemed quite slow and haphazard. However, the food was delicious as always.

Service is always good here. The food is generally good, although last night my fish dish wasn't overly hot and the children's steaks looked a bit anaemic (although I appreciate it's hard to cook minute steaks right). If you get the set menu, it's not bad value at all. The main reason we come to this restaurant is we like the ambiance - seating, lighting etc - and you are never hurried along. My son's ice cream came on a huge decorated plate for his birthday, which was a nice gesture.

The restaurant was buzzing and full to he brim! The food was excellent and the staff were smiling helpful and friendly (as always). Consistently good!

As always, excellent food with a quick and friendly service in a busy but relaxed atmosphere. We love the early bird menu, but even the set price menus are excellent value.

the meal was excellent,although i was disappointed that the starter i wanted on the specials menu was not available. But there is such a varied choice on the menu,so i soon found something else to my taste.

Good value and user friendly The manager remembered when I took my disabled father in law and put us the appropriate table. As he was not there moved us to a better table. Very attentive service.

Always a good menu choice, helpful and efficient staff. Especially like the changing monthly menu. I’ve found all UK Cote Brasserie restaurants consistent with quality of food.

Great food, good service and the lunch set menu was value for money too.I treated my friend to lunch and , when the staff found out it was her birthday, they gave us a complimentary drink each. Lovely touch.

Service was great but food steak on this occasion poor! Such a shame as usually good! Also shame no gluten/dairy free deserts available other than fruit! Did have soya milk though!!

Always consistent quality and service. Food was excellent and washed down with very tasty house wines. The lunch menus are extremely good value and now there are two price levels to pick from, making choices hard.
