food good service good and a very pleasant time we had. the restaurant was busy always a good sign but the waiters were lovely and very efficient.

We all had a very enjoyable evening with delicious food. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We have been before and will certainly come back again.

Excellent meal - good value for money varied dishes Excellent wines and pricing. Very helpful staff who did not pressure you but were there if needed.

As always food was excellent. Great ambiance and good service. Always a favourite of mine. There is a good choice on the menu..this time we were their from brunch and had a great choice.

We all enjoyed the excellent food, delicious wine, coffee and friendly, helpful, professional service. My husband, who is Coeliac, is very impressed with Cote's attention to his dietary requirements.

The restaurant was lovely and had a good feel to it. The service and the food were brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed or meal and the whole evening.

The food is always of a good standard and the service was good. However, we were seated upstairs away from other diners and felt isolated with no atmosphere. There really was no excuse for this as there were lots of empty tables downstairs. We will not be dining upstairs again.

Good atmosphere, friendly and efficient service. Starters were excellent as were the mains. Portion size generally good. Sides a little on the expensive side, but quality good. Would definitely return.

My guest and I sat for some time until I had to ask if we could have a drink. Mine arrived but my guests did not ! So that had to be ordered again. I had asked for asparagus hollandaise but received asparagus vinaigrette. But I couldn't be bothered to make a fuss. The food was very good. Our waitress was friendly enough although her understanding of English was limited.

Excellent as always. Good service and food, always reliable and a pleasure to visit. Impressive how well the staff are trained, and impressive the sense of goodwill; friendly, correct, helpful. Superb.

Liked the new menu - English asparagus in 2 dishes - for May. Good food and excellent service as always. We like the overall ambience with tables laid, glasses and candles, on arrival.

Lovely meal staff excellent just let down a little at the end as all the staff seem to leave and get replaced without any handover

Delicious grilled salmon dish and creme caramel always excellent. However, rather full on waitress and staff not as friendly as those in your Salisbury branch which I much prefer.

My friend and I opted for the early evening set menu and enjoyed three courses with the steak frites option. Excellent and good value as always.

The restaurant was very busy and we had to wait a little for our booked table and later for drinks etc. However, Ben, the assistant manager, kept us informed throughout, reassured us that we hadn't been forgotten and that all the staff were doing a fantastic job. As a consequence we didn't mind in the least, felt that the staff were doing their very best and more in difficult circumstances and appreciated the service we received. Things cannot always be perfect but Ben's positive and friendly approach really impressed us both and we came away having had a really lovely evening despite having to wait etc. What a fantastic assistant manager he is!

My Wife’s Birthday celebration. Especially spoilt by the manager with free Kia royale. Food and service excellent. Comfortable seating overlooking the Main Street. Very well recommended.

Ideally situated in the centre of the town it has a warm friendly atmosphere. Staff are always attentive and the menu has a wide selection of choices for everyone.

We use this restaurant quite often because of the quality of both the food and the staff. Today was a ‘brunch’ and things were ok again.

Enjoyable meal , good variety of food on menu, good prices and the Staff are very professional. Nice ambience, and parking nearby . Service not fast but I prefer this .

GOOD Food .GOOD Service .The ONLY thing l don't like is the SERVICE CHARGE being added to the bill .Its up to me as to weather l want to tip the staff or not . Don;t just put the charge, on leave it to the person to decide as to weather the staff have been good enough .

Lovely meal as always, however the service was extremely slow from arrival to leaving. Think this is just a one off as usually so good! Mentioned this to the manager who has kindly offered a complimentary bottle of wine on the next visit.

The food and service were excellent. Staff very attentive and made it an enjoyable experience. It was my birthday and I had a candle placed in my dessert!

Our visits to The Côte are usually excellent all round. Today was no exception even though we chose from the less expensive lunch menu. Relaxing and unhurried.

Excellent food and service as always. Cote is a little oasis of great food and service in Newbury. That’s why we go there often. The staff are always very happy to see us and are very attentive and treat their work as a career not just a job.

Booking was straight forward at date and time requested. Politely welcomed and shown our tabl. Our orders were taken after time to study menu. Food was served on hot plates and was excellent.

The food was lovely, especially the French breakfast and the service was excellent.

A friend and I have a regular lunch here. The set menu is a excellent and the service is usually very good (though if you are finishing by after the 3pm shift change you can get a bit forgotten). Overall very good.

Chicken was very dry and over cooked. It was replaced but my fellow diners had finished their meal by the time I got it. They did take it off the bill but it spoilt the evening for me.

Tried the premium two course meal and it was absolutely delicious. Never had a bad meal at a Cote. Staff friendly and helpful as always

We had a lovely lunch and food was very good. Intially service was excellent but the restaurant became very busy and we were left waiting to order coffees and get our bill which was frustrating as one person needed to leave promptly.
