Côte Newbury

I would like to see a better children’s menu especially as the only sweets available are off the main menu. Service good. Waiting staff attentive.

Valentine's menu was great and the food was very good. Service not so good. Took half hour to get our starter. Waitress lacked any finesse and food and drinks seemed to be put down quickly No real feeling of being a customer. Also hate the use of paper napkins

good quality food, well cooked, good value. A simple menu true to best French traditions. The steak was very tender and done exactly to order.

Food was delicious and service was great. There was a mixup in the kitchen but the staff was very apologetic and waved the service charge and the cost of our wine

an early evening menu was delicious and quickly prepared and served prior to a quick getaway to see a live show at the local stage. wevare grateful for the responsiveness and attention of the team.

The staff are lovely, the service is good, and the restaurant is beautiful. The menu looks great and the presentation is divine, but the food itself is severely lacking. We had the salmon which tasted alright but the ratatouille with it was boring, we also had the chicken which was very try and tasteless, the onion soup which again lacked depth and flavour, and the goujans...flavourless again. We did tell the staff as maybe this could help improve them, and would rather this review was left for the company rather than the public so they can make the changes. It is strange as it all looks like beautiful food but just doesn’t live up to the appearances at all.

Awful service, wrong drink served to begin, half my main order missing until prompted. No apology, not attempt at remediation. Very disappointed. I had finished my main before missing sides arrived 15 minutes later.Sat waiting for my bill for over 15 minutes, had to stand at the front door until served so i could pay & leave.

Nice location in the town centre. Attentive and friendly staff and service. Can’t wait for the cote de boeuf to return to the menu! Well worth a visit if you’re in town but best to book

excellent as always. just sorry that due to illness, in january, we were unable to use the bottle of wine voucher given to us by our son which was included with the vouchers he gave us as part of a christmas gift, because he knows of our liking for cotes.

The Cote at Newbury is a beautifully designed restaurant. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. Most importantly, the food is tasty, varied, and fantastic value for money.

Nice food , good wine and reasonably priced , service was excellent !! The restaurant itself was decorated to a very good standard which added to the overall experience

The service was very slow and inattentive. The toilets were in a horrid state, I expect more from a restaurant of this standard. The food was nice.

Great food, enjoyed by everyone.... clean plates. Had to wait a little while at the start for our drinks, but enjoyable when they arrived with the lovely bottle of water, we were happy.

Enjoyed a really pleasant evening. The waiters were welcoming and attentive even though they were very busy. Both the starter and the main course were delicious. I will definitely vote to pay a return visit!

I chose two courses from the weekday lunch menu, which were both very tasty. Staff were friendly,courteous and efficient. I will recommend Cote to friends and family.

Always good. Very enjoyable evening and good food. We had a nice person waiting on our table and we didn’t feel rushed and had a fun night.

I'm a particularly fussy customer, but by now everyone must know that Cote Restaurants never disappoint. They consistently deliver a charming welcome, tempting menu, delicious food, speedy and efficient service, buzzy atmosphere and, finally, a reasonable bill. The Newbury branch is no exception and is a particularly well run branch - thank you so much for another delicious lunch.

We have been to many Cote Brasserie restaurants, and this was a good meeting place for family from different areas. I asked for Gluten free bread, and it didn't arrive initially. Waiter had not noted who ordered which foods. Maybe he was new. All quietly polite.

As always the food is of high standard, very consistent and tasty. We had two people seeing to our table, the gentleman was exactly that, charming, attentive and a good balance of checking but not too much. The young lady was lovely but a perhaps a little brusque, so was in sharp contrast to her colleague. Overall good but might be nice for her to know how she comes across.

Very disappointing service today from newbury , felt rushed and wasn’t the normal lovely service we normally have . ☹️ Forgot holindase sauce , felt like we was not important today as there was a big group of ladies being attended too ☹️

Lovely spacious restaurant with lots of character. Great buzz on a busy early evening. Staff still managed to be very attentive and friendly. Loved the choices on the evening menu

while the staff we marvellous there were quite a number of dishes were off the menu at 6.30 p.m. I know dishes run out and shows freshness but i feel this was very early in the evening.

Lovely food, though the Sirloin steak ordered by my guest was tough and undercooked, ordered medium but was rare. My Onion soup had to be re warmed. But apart from that tasty. Ps the wine was warm. I would go back again. The waitress was good.

Three of us met up for an early evening meal and to sample the new February menu. Great choices and delicious food. A nice evening.

I had the quick meal with poulet, mushroom sauce and dauphinoise potatoes which was lovely. However, the beef bourgingnon was a bit dry so not as good. Excellent service though.

Four of us went to Cote for an evening meal at 6.15 pm we were made very welcome and given a choice of tables, which is very nice. Two of us chose the duck from the a la Carte menu and the other two had the early evening meal. We were all most happy with our choices and look forward to our next visit, many thanks for looking after us so well.

great service and great food and the free bottle of wine made it perfect. So consistent at all locations it has got to get bigger and bigger

Excellent food with great service. Pricing reasonable although wasn’t too happy with the added 12.5% gratuity. Appreciate it’s optional but feel we should be able to give what we feel is teasonable. Will definitely be returning.

Probably this was the best meal we have had in Cote over the last 18 months, The Lamb rump was acclaimed by all who partook, The service was nicely balanced friendliness.

Constantly good food and service. A great place for lunch or dinner right in the heart of town. Lovely atmosphere whatever time of day you visit. Would definitely recommend to friends.

My second visit in four days, excellent service and delicious food. Can't wait to visit again. Confit of Duck was cooked to perfection on both occasions.

Good quality food. No problem that one of our party was 30 mins late. However, it took some time to attract our server's attention when we wanted to pay. I also object to their 12.5% service charge, 10% is plenty.

It was an excellent meal - we both had the Fish Parmentier with roast seasonal vegetables. The desserts were nice too and the staff first class. Will definitely go back.

Had a lovely evening celebrating a friend's 50th birthday. Only reason for marking down by one point was due to some very noisy children in the restaurant. Staff were very good and food was excellent.

Yoghurt was off, no smoked salmon, no black pudding but not told until breakfast arrived and expected id be ok with that. It was also cold and had to be returned. Manager handled very well so will go back

Friendly waitress very efficient and made us feel comfortable about main course problem and handled it with professionalism and grace. Will return shortly as minute steak was yummy.

Atmosphere is fine, service is good, food seems a bit expensive,compared to other restaurants offering a similar menu. Gratuity is added to bill at 12.5% but displayed on bill as optional, as most people would not feel comfortable asking to remove the tip from the bill, you really don't have a choice.

Lovely atmosphere, great food and good service, never had a bad meal here. Newbury Cotes is our absolute favourite, visited more times than I care to remember.

We always have a good experience at Cote. Lovely food and very friendly, tentative staff, no wonder it is always packed. We will certainly be returning.

Very pleasant meal, helpful staff. It was busy and we have a little trouble with conversation. Which is why l didn’t award a 6 .

Order was taken fairly quickly instructions were given to the waitress regarding the food and any special dietary requirements food was served in bowls which I would’ve preferred if it was on plates but apart from that it was a nice fresh cooked meal and will be going again soon

All staff are very good and so efficient and friendly. Visit Cote regularly and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and always served promptly.

Yet another very nice evening at Cote Newbury. My friend and I opted for the excellent value three course early evening menu which was as good as always.
