The social distancing was noticeable but a shade questionable given people walking between tables (Staff & Clientele) negated this i.e. partially filled the 2m gap! The staff were very attentive but because of the mask wearing they, probably unconsciously, were shouting greetings and when attending tables. The food was very nice as always so will we return probably yes but not until the pandemic has past.

Food was lovely and your waiting staff & maitre d’ were very friendly and efficient even though the restaurant was super busy.

Safe friendly environment, my soup was lovely but others were disappointed with muscles. It’s always a shame to complain, but issues was resolved . Thank you.

Cote never fails. We had a lovely lunch, up to Cote’s usual standard. Staff are always pleasant but very professional. The Restaurant & Staff always look clean & we rate it very highly.

Went fro brunch with my parents. In the midst of social distancing, they gave fantastic service, really above and beyond. Staff are considerate and warm. I had the veggie breakfast which was one of the beat breakfasts I’ve had! Can’t recommend the Newbury Cote enough!

Fabulous evening,just a shame our complimentary free cocktail was added to our bill and we had to make the staff aware of it. Being compli mentary it shouldn’t have been added - I booked the table from the email saying that we would get a free cocktail - even though they didn’t have all the ingredients and had to have an alternative cocktail.

Literally love this place, the food, the staff .... would highly recommend for romantic night, dinner with friends or a girls night out.

We had a lovely booth, complementary birthday fizz, and my son, who is a coeliac, got a gluten-free menu with plenty of choice.

Despite the socially distanced tables and the fact that it was a wet Thursday evening we had a lovely time in Cote Newbury. The staff were attentive and professional, the food was up to the normal high standard (and we are critical diners) and the drinks good and fairly priced. Lockdowns allowing, we shall return - soon!

It was a lovely evening’s experience as I have generally come to expect with Cote and the French cuisine typically ordered and available. Seats placed well for a Covid contingency and reservation online was straightforward. Food and beer were delicious although I swear I’m paying more for two these days: first 40, then 50; now 60 i.e. a lot! However it is comfy and I wish I could try the Chateaubriand - on my own! I loved my fish stew and bread though more bread would be preferred and it is a shame you no longer offer steak tartare.

We enjoyed a tasty full English breakfast and were well tended by polite and courteous staff seamlessly working hard in a calm manner. The atmosphere was upbeat and we enjoyed our experience unhurried and look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you

Very poor service. Didn’t check if we needed more drinks. Served items at vastly different times. Staff attitude when we questioned this was poor.

Lovely food, especially October special- tenderloin pork. We had reserved our table and were seated immediately. The staff were very pleasant and polite but we had to wait a long while between courses and to pay. We got the impression that the venue was short staffed.
