Côte Newcastle

Food was great, service good but think the 12.5% service charge us too steep especially against wine which is simply taking ac screw top off.

Lovely food and perfect, calm ambience in the middle of the city - was delightful place to catch up with friends as allowed to take as much time as we wished between courses despite it being Saturday night - highly recommend.

Good food and wine, excellent service and a pleasant environment - all at a reasonable price. My friends and I will eat at Cote again.

Excellent food, excellent service, cannot fault at all. I would certainly recommend this restaurant if you love food. It is also very close to the Theatre Royal and they do a very good early evening menu.

The reastaurant is very smart and the staff are very welcoming. Our meal , the special , was exceptionally good value for money. The ambiance is extremely pleasant and would happily recommend to friends.

This was my first visit to Cote Brasserie in Newcastle and I'm no lover of chains but had heard good reports. Varied menu and good food. Great service, Nice atmosphere. Stylish restaurant in the centre of Newcastle. Will be back.

Superb! Lovely food and ( as ever ) great service from the professional team. Even my very hard to please Mum loved her lunch & was delighted by the birthday cake on her 85th.

Our Son came up from Surrey, his first visit to Côte in Newcastle, thought it was excellent. Really enjoyed our meal and as usual lovey staff.

Our meal was so delicious and all of the staff so attentive. We will definitely be visiting again. This has to be one of the top restaurants in Newcastle.

2nd visit to Cote , first visit was very enjoyable this visit was a bit disappointing . It took a while for anyone to come across to take our drinks order then when our first course came one of us had ordered the French Onion soup and it was cold. We mentioned it to the waiter and he replaced it but it was still just warm. When we mentioned it he said we could have one free desert - would have been better not to charge for the soup.

Visited on a quiet Sunday evening. Quickly shown to our table by a friendly member of staff.As usual the food and wine were excellent. Can’t wait to return.

Very efficient and friendly staff who obviously take pride in what they do. Food was delicious but unfortunately we were having a pre-theatre dinner and didn't have time for desserts. I'll make sure I have more time on my next visit.

I enjoyed my meal today which was from the Breakfast menu. This restaurant has a good ambiance and I was really impressed with the service. I have no doubt that I will visit again.

Very pleasant prompt, efficient, service, given plenty of time to enjoy our meal and chat afterwards. Food ordered was off the set lunchtime menu and was very good value.

Ordered from special set menu, steak was over done and very tough, creme de caramel saved the meal or it would have been 2 stars. Don't like the service charge automatically added.

Gorgeous Latvian waitress. Equally gorgeous duck confit and other dishes in the lunchtime menu. What is not appreciated is the staff taking control of pouring our wine. Twice we had to ask them to stop, as one of us is the driver and we wish to keep a tight rein how much each of us drinks.

All was excellent. The table was ready for us when we arrived, The staff were attentive without being intrusive. We were attended to without delay but without feeling rushed. The food was excellent. We will go back.

We always enjoy dining at Cote in Newcastle. The menu changes regularly, the food is consistenly good and the team are extremely helpful, approacable and friendly. It’s great for an impromptu lunch or a pre and post theatre dinner.

Bright comfortable restaurant with a range of seating options. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Salmon was very slightly under cooked but everything else was excellent.

Excellent service and delicious food from a varied menu. Went with a group of friends and between us we chose from the Prestige lunchtime selection and the regular lunchtime menu and felt both selections were good value for the money. Staff were attentive and friendly. A very pleasant restaurant in the heart of Newcastle. All my friends were impressed. My first visit but certainly not my last.

The food was Lovely, good choices and a separate vegetarian menu. Pleasant helpful staff, only downside is water was warm, could have gone with some ice.

My second visit to Côte in a month. The early high standards are keeping up, with both food and service excellent. On this visit the restaurant was full, but service was quick and efficient and the quality of food was as good as expected.

Staff were excellent making one feel immediately welcome. Attentive but allowing space and time to enjoy the meal. Food was presented beautifully with high quality ingredients and sensible portion sizes.

This is the second time we have been to the Newcastle Côte Brasserie, having been to the Winchester restaurant previously. Welcoming staff, good food and service.

We had the set menu offering good choices of starters and mains for £11.50. The food was delicous and excellent value for money. Interior of restaurant is very smart creating a typical French brasserie. Staff very attentive and pleasant.

The food and service were excellent, the restaurant was lovely inside, we will definitely go back. The booth for four was lovely and comfortable and the window seats for two looked lovely as well. We have recommended this to friends and family.

Amazing food at a very reasonable price, especially on the set menu. The service was excellent; efficient and friendly, and the interior decor of the restaurant made it a great environment for a meal.

Excellent service and good food. The gluten free menu was ideal for one member of our group. The full English breakfast and the gluten free scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were excellent. The granola, yogurt and berry compote was very tasty and a good portion. The cafetiere and cappuccino were also good. We returned to Cote for our breakfast the following morning.

The meal was amazing though sadly we only managed mains as we were due to go the theatre and had forgotten our tickets so were late in arriving. The food is always good and the staff very attentive and good.
