Côte Oxford

The service in Cote is always first rate and the food is fantastic too. My wife loves the place as they do lighter meals. This time I had the lemon sole which was superb. Great choice of wine. The restaurant is well placed for the theatres in Oxford and the staff check if you are going so they know your need to leave by a certain time. Recommend.

We ordered two half spit roast chickens and one poulet grille. The spit roast chicken had greens beans on the menu...when our food came there were no beans ....and peas had been put on the plate. We asked where the beans were and the waiter said they had run out. We were not asked which alternative vegetable we wanted, and when my daughter ordered a side dish of green beans to accompany her poulet grill , that was delevered with her food? My daughters poulet grill had to be sent back as it was cooked on the outside but definitely not cooked on the inside. This meal was replaced and the poulet grill was taken off the bill. We go to Cote Farnham regularly and have always enjoyed it .....but this was definitely the worst experience we have had at a cote.....having just joned the loyalty programme we will not be going back.

While the service was good, the kitchen seemed to be unable to cope with the full restaurant - all our main courses (duck, fish and chicken) were dry, as though they had been standing under heat lamps for some time. We would have complained, and asked for the dishes to be replaced, but were in a hurry could not afford the extra time this would have taken. We did complain to the manager as we left who appeared concerned. We will see!

Excellent service and friendly staff. Food great. Must book as this is a busy place. Would definitely go back again. Esp. Good for pre theatre

Part of the meal was not hot enough, but was removed from the bill. Service was rather slow, but it was Sunday. Menus are always interesting and as there is a monthly menu there is always a good selection of food. Overall the best of the chain restaurants

Good choice on the menu, though some specials were unavailable. Above average wine list in terms of quality. Service could have been quicker. Authentic ambiance.

Good food, delightful and efficient staff. Excellent value. We can thoroughly recommend the Soupe de Poisson and the cod goujons. The peach crumble was greatly enjoyed, too!

The food is excellent and arrives quickly. The staff are very efficient and friendly. It is always an enjoyable experience at Cote. My friends enjoy it too.

Too expensive. Not value for money. Had fish pie over £11 and no sides. Meal for 2 with tip over £65. Would have been better value in a pub.

Good food. Good service.BUT Do not like optional gratuity. Prefer to reward staff on my own terms. Manager very politely dealt with the Situation when I found the charge had been made without me realising. This charge should be clearly pointed out to customers.

Very good food for 2 of us but my husband had the minute steak - over cooked. Arrived to be told there was no garlic bread and no pino Grigio on the wine list. Also could you please give customers more time before you want them to order the meal. However we rated the restaurant 81/2 out of ten! Alison Bowen

We have been going to Cote in Oxford since it opened and have always enjoyed the great service, food and atmosphere.Sadly on our last visit my food was so salty it was impossible to eat. My wife's food was fine but sadly my chicken and salad was covered in salt. A mistake maybe , and a refund as a gesture of good will. We will of course return and ask for food without salt.

Fabulous food as always and the gluten free options were much appreciated. I love the way you cook tuna and my husband really enjoyed your starter charcuterie platter. We've visited the Oxford Cotes five times now and we're always impressed by the quality of the service. Such a pleasure to have quirky yet intelligent and professional waiting staff. We enjoyed a very good meal from the Anniversary menu. Although it was a busy evening the service was attentive and friendly and all the meals chosen were excellent.

Good value 3 course early evening meal. Only 5 out of 6 as could have been a green veg with the chicken main. Shame crumble was not crunchy but thats a personal preference.

The usual, reliable menu, the usual cheerful service, the usual high quality of the cooking. Everything as we expected, and our 21-yr-old grandchildren were very impressed - said they would go to Cote again.

Excellent food and great service - remember to book as this restaurant gets very busy. The confit duck was excellent as was the burger - nicely cooked medium rare. Professional and attentive staff.

Booked online, friendly welcome combined with fast and polite service, the food was fantastic and we had a nice corner table in a secluded part of the restaurant. Would definitely go again.

I visited Cote in Oxford with friends. We had a lovely evening in a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent and the menu varied with a great choice of dishes. The staff was friendly, efficient and upbeat. All round a very enjoyable evening, which I am sure we will endeavour to repeat.

As usual, a very friendly welcome, delicious food and good service and then a friendly goodbye as well. The early evening set menu is great value for money, and always a good choice and delicious; the wines are very reasonably priced. We will definitely come again.

We had a late afternoon meal 9/9/17 experiencing a warm welcome (before a Wine Tasting evening at The Oxford Union.). We both had Steak/Frites which was nicely presented followed by 2puddings which were very enjoyable. We shall certainly re-visit again when in Oxford. Thank you to all the Staff.

Great food and wine at a reasonable price. However, the service was a little hit-and-miss. My starter was brought with half the components missing and had to be sent back. The issue was rectified swiftly, though. Extensive gluten-free options, good to see.

Overall we enjoyed our evening and the food was extremely good. Not impressed with the 12.5% service charge. We had it removed and left 10%.

A bit mixed! First we hadn't realised (from looking on your web site) that your three course special offer was not available at weekends and we did not find your weekend specials attractive. You had run out of our choice of starter - mussels - your ARE a French Restaurant? and you had also run out of my wife's all time favourite dessert - Creme Brulee! Having said that, the staff were all very welcoming and attentive and the food we did have was excellent and the manager made up for the problems with a reduction in the bill so all in all we will be happy to come back another day!

The food was great! But when we arrived it was very awkward and cramped, our table wasn't ready as it was very busy. We had to wait stood around people eating which I'm sure made them feel uncomfortable. I think Cote should invest in a proper waiting area rather than filling he space with lots of tables. But the food was amazing and staff were nice.

Great food, pleasant staff. A good place to go for a celebration like I did for my birthday! Would recommend Prawn gratin and the Calamari as starters.

Staff were charming as always in your outlets. My fish was delicious but the accompanying beans were very dry. I have had this dish on a few other occasions so was a little disappointed. I did tell the waiter about it. Food was excellent but a small problem with the service of a dessert which was a little slow. Otherwise a lovely evening out.

Great food, fast service. We were in a rush to get to a show, the waitress was very understanding and served us a quicly as she could. Recommended.

We had a great meal with lovely food and excellent service. My only criticism was that the tables were far too close together which made it practically impossible to get in and out of our seats.

Excellent food, excellent service and marvellous prices! One of my favourite places to eat, I would recommend Cote to anyone who is looking for well cooked food.

Yet another lovely visit to Cote Brasserie. We always eat at Cote when we are going to the theatre in Oxford. We can be sure of - excellent service great food very good price The staff are lovely and it is so nice to be greeted with a smile when we arrive. And it's close to both theatres. Great place to eat.

Lovely food, prompt friendly service - would definitely return. Don't like 12.5% service charge being added to bill though - should be up to customers to tip!!
