Service good but a little unattentive. Starters seemed microwaved and lacked flavour
Had to ask for bill a few times..when you have small kids staff should understand they can't wait around. Plenty of staff available at the time.
Called in on the off-chance there was a table out back in the garden. It was busy, but I guess people wanted to be inside where it was warmer. We were a group of four, 2+2 socially distanced. It didnt feel cold outside, as was well protected from wind, and it didnt detract from the experience. Great food, great friendly service. Great steak frites and Parmentier (as always at Cote).
Good to sit down after very good guided walk around the town.....Felt safe as spacious venue, nice décor, and didn't feel rushed to finish
Absolutely a great night. The food was excellent complimented with a fine wine.
I really like Cote and have visited several times. The food is fresh and presented nicely with love and care, very tasty and filling. Lots of staff to serve you. A little disappointed that my soup was only warm today and not piping hot, that said the issue was quickly put right by the staff. We had a full meal with starters, mains, desserts and coffee, total bill was around £120 for the 4 of us. I’ll be back again soon hopefully.
Fillet steak always consistently good here. Red is okay. And nice desserts selection.
Couple of main courses off the menu. Ravioli ok but mean portion size. Red wine by glass - limited choice. Service and atmosphere good
Fantastic meal. Great service and delicious food. Felt very relaxed given COVID measures in place; many restaurants do not deal with it well but Cote staff made us feel very welcome and no tension in the restaurant
Excellent service and food. Love the October specials and fig, goats cheese & endive salad. Only shame is the Steak Tartare seems to no longer be on the menu, which was quite a favourite! Hoping it’s just temporary!
Lovely food! Staff were lovely. In all good to be back and eating out!
Just one of many lunches at Cote St Albans and it was first class as usual
The food was good, staff very friendly. Great atmosphere enjoyed throughly. Found the price a bit inflated. Please could do with a decor.
Great food and excellent staff. Will enjoy dining again I’m sure! Keep it up 👍
Great service & tasty food! Amazing value for money 😊
We visited the restaurant for a birthday celebration for my wife & her sister. We were all very happy with the food and the service. However it was cold in the restaurant and my brother in law kept his coat on throughout the evening. None of us were comfortable. Also, we wanted to order the aperitif from the October specials but were told it was not possible. Not sure why it was on the menu!
It didn’t feel COVID safe, as waiters were hovering over us and seemed to be carelessly touching everything. They seated another group of people far too close to us. We were also given two bottles of warm tap water (!)
Long wait between courses. Left stood out in the pouring rain for too long on arrival
Awful, the food was cold staff rude... would not recommend
Absolutely love coming here for brunch. Haven’t done it since lockdown and was eager to return. All safety measures in place but none of the charm lost.
Food wasn’t hot enough. Staff forgot to bring us some food that we had ordered and some sauces; when we reminded a waitress about it she said she finished her shift but will tell someone to help us out. We had two kids with us and at no point a staff member offered to provide an activity book (it was only brought to our table when we asked for it). Overall, not the best experience.
Superb breakfast well cooked and presented . Service attentive overall excellent .
Food was delicious but service was very hit and miss. We either had no service for ages or s constant stream of people. Would definitely return despite this little hiccup!
The fish stew was amazing - a real French taste to it which was a real treat given we have not been able to go back to the French sea side for so long...
Had lovely meal yesterday afternoon was very tasty food definitely worth going again and very friendly service and nicely spaced out. Thanks Alison
Our table was right in the middle of the restaurant, it was very small. The restaurant was extremely loud, so the meal wasn’t very enjoyable
Love our local Cote in St Albans. Food is always excellent and can’t fault the service.
ambience is everything in a restaurant and Cote St. albans has it
Lovely evening. Felt very safe although maybe you should take people’s temperature on arrival. Great to see that you have a gluten free menu. Staff were good too.
Excellent service & great food as usual. The restaurant had tables well distanced from each other. All round lovely evening, just what we needed!
Lunch for 4 - we all enjoyed our food very much. Attentive staff, but not irritating, no hustling you out like some venues in these strange times.
Always consistently delightful food. Service great in these testing times. You should feel proud of yourselves.
Friendly service good food We enjoyed our meal after working the antique market all day
As per usual, we had a very enjoyable evening at Cote (this time at the St albans restaurant), with several dishes particularly memorable (incl the crepe grand marnier - which four out of the five of us had and which we all rated as excellent). However, there were a couple of missteps, which is unusual for Cote, principally related to the lack of figs in any of the specials (the promise of figs in several dishes was highlighted in their advertising that I received for Oct and so, as a fig lover, I was particularly disappointed). The Dubonnet aux Figues cocktail was actually devoid of them, with dried rose petals floating on top instead (we were not warned about this before they were brought to the table and we had to use our forks to sweep it to one side). The cocktail was overly sweet and seemingly lacking much alcohol at all (it should have included gin as well). The pork tenderloin, which should also have had figs, did not and mashed potato was substituted - tho the dish worked very well and was most enjoyable. These relatively minor quibbles, however, did not detract overly from what was still a very good meal for the five of us.
Lovely as always! Good food, great service. Will be back
Fantastic, lovely brunch with equally lovely service 😁 I would come again!
Gorgeous food! Friendly service. Lovely atmosphere. Really good coffee. Recommended
Had a lovely breakfast yet again, great service and quality, highly recommend for a Brunch treat.
Excellent experience! Chateaubriand was superb.Service was excellent for an extremely busy night.
Booked quite late for lunch the whole team couldn't have been more accommodating. Service was excellent as was the food. We felt very safe in these worrying times, Thank you.
