Côte Winchester

Restaurant was too busy, did not feel covid secure. Too many diners compared to other restaurants we have visited since the re-opening. Hot and stuffy environment. Seated opposite the plate collection area, banging and crashing and harassed looking staff passing our table all evening. My lamb was not rare as requested and the accompaniments were cold. When I sent it back, the replacement was also not rare and the accompaniments were greasy and salty. Really disappointed as this was a celebration for my daughter before she leaves for university . Not what we expect from Cote, we had really looked forward to it and were hugely disappointed.

Food great, atmosphere convivial, waitress attentive, pleasant and not overbearing, socially distanced table, only problem was we were near the plate scraping corner, but it didn’t worry me! Everyone enjoyed their meals and the company, so five stars from us all

The food was good as always, but it was upsetting to see that the staff only wore visors and not masks. Visors have been proven to be completely ineffective in preventing the spread of COVID and this is the only restaurant I have been to recently not to have staff in masks. In addition to this people were walking into and around the restaurant without masks on. I want to eat out but only in places which are actually doing their best to make their premises COVID secure.

We have only been out for a meal three times since the end of lockdown and Côte was by far the best. It has long been our favourite restaurant in Winchester and always enjoy our evenings out in Côte. The staff are always great and extremely helpful and accommodating as we ask for a particular table which is nearly always available for us and the food is consistently good and plenty of choices on the menu, and having the seasonal choices menu, when available, is a bonus. On our recent visit we were treated to a glass of wine by the Manager who was really nice to chat to when he had a few minutes available. It is a great place 😁

We had a lovely birthday meal for my partner. The food was really delicious and good value, especially the steaks. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because we had to ask our waiter a couple of times for drinks.

Really delicious meal! I would recommend the pork belly. Staff were very polite and helpful and they seemed to be adhering to Covid rules. Tables were well spaced and customers wore masks when moving around the restaurant.

Staying in Winchester for one night with my wife to celebrate her Birthday. Chose Cote from Trip Advisor, so glad we did, the staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was beautiful, highly recommend the Beef Bourguinion which was beautifully presented and the best we have tasted in a long time.

A lovely evening with great food, excellent service and relaxed atmosphere. The only reason I have only given 5 stars and not 6 is because of the wine - we had a bottle of the house white which can normally be relied on particularly in a good French restaurant but it was really awful! Such a shame as everything else was perfect

Excellent food, lovely building, great service. Cotes Winchester maintains a consistently high quality of good value really enjoyable food. Plenty of space between tables. I would prefer to see staff wearing masks than visors though, and allowing guests to pass plates down the table rather than have waiters leaning over them but i realize some compromises are sometimes necessary.

We had a lovely brunch but I was disappointed to be asked to leave after 1hr 20 minutes. I appreciate COVID restrictions but I was allowed to book for 2hrs and was then asked to leave 40 minutes early which made for a quick meal.

Lovely afternoon spent, with great service and super yummy food

Pleasant, spacious settings for these strange times we live in. Shown to our table straight away (after capturing the NHS COVID QR code of course). Drinks were brought quickly and we were allowed time for our party to arrive, settle, and choose from the menu. Didn’t feel like we were being hurried or rushed for someone else to have our table but that might just be a sign if the times.

Great food, good service and a wonderful welcome. Tables are well spaced and I felt very comfortable.

Excellent food well prepared alongside brilliant service from very well trained and polite staff

A lovely restaurant that we didn’t know was there! When we entered we didn’t know what to expect, especially as it was empty. We had a superb meal and the restaurant filled up rapidly giving a great friendly atmosphere. Staff were brilliant, as was all the social distancing etc because of Covid. We shall certainly return!!

First time in a Cote restaurant,other than Brighton was really impressed with the level of service and covid precautions .On first greeting to leaving the staff could do no more the french lady (sorry no name ) at the door was brilliant as was the associate and the waiter that served us food was very good plenty of it and well cooked also found a new beer Meteor Blonde

We went for a friend's birthday meal and were treated like royalty. Everyone was very kind and the service and food were excellent. We also felt very safe with the measures in place for Covid. Thank you everyone for a great experience.

Not your best Cote. Friendly service but extremely disappointing steaks.

Sadly the creamed spinach has way too much Pernod added such that it completely overpowered the dish . However the staff were amazing and took this off the bill. The staff are very friendly and professional and make you feel quite safe at all times.

I have never had a disappointing meal in Cote, the service is always punctual, the food is delicious and it is very reasonable pricing per head.

First rate from start to finish. Delicious food, super wine and very friendly service. We will be back! Thankyou....
