First time in Cote Brasserie for a couple of years and first time in the York restaurant. Good to see the quality of the food and the service were as good as we have previously experienced, despite the obvious impact of Covid. We will most definitely be back.

Food and our service was very good as usual. Nice to see staff wearing visors. Didn't give 6 stars as watched a member of staff cleaning a table and chairs after the diners had left. They were doing an excellent job cleaning the table surface chair seat and the back of the chair which is the main touch point. Also cleaned the salt and pepper pots, all good until some food was brought out to go to some customers and the member of staff just put the cleaning cloth down on the table they were cleaning, did not wash or gel their hands and then served the plates of food to the customers which I don't feel is very covid safe. A shame as we had a lovely evening and our service was excellent, we enjoyed being back in a Cote de Brasserie but I feel I should point this issue out as it's something that can be easily rectified.

We were very well looked after, following an awful 8 hour road journey to York. Our wonderful meal transformed our day, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely welcome to York with the reassurance of being able to feed our Coeliac children in a place that understands a gluten free diet! Thank you Cote Brasserie York!

Everything was lovely apart from our waitress. We was greeted by a lovely waiter, who made us feel really good, he asked if we’d had a good day, we told him it was our wedding anniversary, he spoke to us for a bit, then left us to look at the menu. Then a lovely waitress took our drinks order, she spoke to my wife about the wines, she really knew what she was talking about. Then we had a different waitress who was with us for the rest of the evening! Well she was very rude, made us feel very uncomfortable and she was the one who ruined our time there, to the point she basically told me I hadn’t ordered the creamy spinach because inquired as to where it was, after checking she said ‘oh you was right’ no apology. She rushed us even though the restaurant was pretty empty. If we hadn’t of ended up with this waitress we would have given 6 stars thankfully we was on our weekend away so won’t be going back to that restaurant. But we will try another one nearer to our home, hopefully we won’t have the same experience.

Good food, prompt and attentive service, pleasant atmosphere, tables not crowded in on top of each other. Good for families. Staff very attentive. Would be happy to return.

A friendly and well organised staff. Food is excellent and a separate vegetarian menu is an added bonus. We really enjoyed our evening and will return.

Great food and service as always . We had to move tables as there was a large VERY LOUD family party . Seems to be the norm now to completely ignore the other diners experience. Sadly Cote cannot be responsible for their diners bad manners .

WE ENJOYED THE MEAL - HOWEVER WE WAITED 50 MINUTES FOR OUR FOOD WHICH WAS QUITE A LONG TIME. OUR WAITER WAS HELPFUL AND POLITE. WE ALWAYS ENJOY OUR FOOD ..... PARTICULARLY THE CREME CARAMEL WHICH IS HARD TO RESIST.

The staff are very friendly. They played with the kids. Plenty to choose from on the menu. The service was quick but not overly fast. We will be back again!

As ever a great meal and evening at Cote York. The other restaurants just don't come close to this one. We were shown to the table of our choice, presented with complimentary Kir Royale and made to feel at home straight away. Genuinely attentive waiters who care about the customer experience and faultless food. I can't recommend Cote enough. Karen Clegg

Fab food, we all selected the lunchtime special menu and were very happy with our choices. Mussels and ribeye steak for a £2.50 extra charge - Staff were super!

Cote Brasserie in York is our favourite restaurant. The food is consistently good and the menus cater for all tastes. The staff are excellent - whilst working incredibly hard, they always find time for a friendly word.

We dine here quite frequently. The food is always in top order and the staff are very polite and efficient.

The food and service was excellent and 1st time in the York one but as good as the Leeds one busted previously . Will be back .

Very efficient service especially from a young man who was obviously new to serving. So pleasant and brought everything we asked for. Food was delicious. Only star missing was due to very small children a couple of tables away being rather noisy. (Sorry very selfish of me). Unfortunately we had a lady with us who was a little deaf and the noise was a bit disruptive for her.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and delighted with the service from Sebastien. Food was very good and the wine excellent. Thank you for your hospitality.

An absolutely fine meal with excellent French apéritif and wines to compliment it. This is no less than we have come to expect of any restaurant in the Côte Brasserie chain.

Excellent meal! Tables a bit close to each other, but managed OK. Service very good. French 75 could have been served in a nicer glass.

Nice pre theatre meal with the option of an early bird set menu if required. Ate off the main menu and thoroughly enjoyed the white Chenin Blanc.

We, my wife and I, came for lunch today and decided to treat ourselves to the a la carte menu. The choice on offer on the menu was extensive and the food was excellent My wife had the crab mayonnaise and I had my favourite calamari for starters. Our main courses were Duck Breast and the Breton Fish Stew and were both very pleased with our choices. This was washed down with a reasonably priced bottle of Merlot. As usual when we come here, the staff were friendly and efficient. It all made us want to come again before too long - it is one of our favourite restaurants in York.

Excellent service and food, the waiter was fantastic and kept checking we were happy with everything. The food was delicious, and served without having to wait long. Really good meal would recommend.

Always an enjoyable experience and the staff are always fabulous! We are continually welcomed and when clocking off the staff come to say goodbye. Sadly this time the mains were not as warm as they could have been in fact cold and the fish pie sauce was split but knowing the staff and how great they are it wouldn’t have rested well to bring this to their attention

Ate ar Cote 30 May. Really good meal. Scallops were tender and juicy. Main course of salmon very good, cooked to perfection. No room for dessert unlike my wife who managed the creme brulee. She even threatened to lick the plate.
