First time in Cote Brasserie for a couple of years and first time in the York restaurant. Good to see the quality of the food and the service were as good as we have previously experienced, despite the obvious impact of Covid. We will most definitely be back.

Food and our service was very good as usual. Nice to see staff wearing visors. Didn't give 6 stars as watched a member of staff cleaning a table and chairs after the diners had left. They were doing an excellent job cleaning the table surface chair seat and the back of the chair which is the main touch point. Also cleaned the salt and pepper pots, all good until some food was brought out to go to some customers and the member of staff just put the cleaning cloth down on the table they were cleaning, did not wash or gel their hands and then served the plates of food to the customers which I don't feel is very covid safe. A shame as we had a lovely evening and our service was excellent, we enjoyed being back in a Cote de Brasserie but I feel I should point this issue out as it's something that can be easily rectified.

Always a great eating experience, staff are attentive and professional and venue is central. We were fortunate to be seated in the window so had Saturday evening entertainment too!!

Both my husband and myself enjoyed our meals. The only negative was the asparagus on my meal accompanying the lamb . Some people might not see this as a negative but I thought the time between courses was a bit too fast . If we had been given a little more time we probably would have had a pudding.

Very low key atmosphere on entering, greeting polite but not particularly welcoming, so a little disappointing. We have visited several different branches of Cote, and usually the atmosphere is enthusiastic and very friendly, Food, as always was delicious, can’t fault it. Service was timely, and courteous.

Great food beautifully presented, great team, excellent service, always made to feel welcome. We'll be back very shortly.

As usual the staff were very friendly and professional and there was a lovely atmosphere. The food was up to it's usual high standard. All in all another pleasant Cote visit and I look forward to coming back again.

Not a good day for Cote. The caramelised bread was overcooked and overpriced . A new chef couldn't cope with making a batter without eggs for the two year old with egg allergy fish gougons ( this has been achieved in past visits tomCote) . The food was very late coming out for the children . Fortunately the member of staff noted this and arranged free drinks . Then we had futher to wait for the rissotto! The member of staff was extremely nice and apologetic BUT what she didn't know was that it was my daughter's birthday and i felt it was spoiled by a less than average experience. Sorry Cote York this was not a good day ! I have eaten at many Cotes in London , Cardiff , Harrogate, Leeds and many times at York. What went wrong?

Very good food. Service was quite slow on the day, but the way I was treated later in the week made up for it. I had left my scarf by mistake; I called the next day then returned later in the week to collect it. I spoke to the duty manager about the evening I visited and he could not have been more helpful. I will certainly go back again

Reliable service and dining at a sensible price. Food was great, although I think the set menus feel a bit the same as previous time. Good experience as always.

Lovely calm clean surroundings with pleasant courteous staff who were keen to help. A great venue to meet up with friends and have a relaxed meal. Perfect for pre theatre meal.

As ever a great meal and evening at Cote York. The other restaurants just don't come close to this one. We were shown to the table of our choice, presented with complimentary Kir Royale and made to feel at home straight away. Fab food, we all selected the lunchtime special menu and were very happy with our choices. Mussels and ribeye steak for a £2.50 extra charge - Staff were super!

The food and service was excellent and 1st time in the York one but as good as the Leeds one busted previously . Will be back .

Great tasty food but very slow service. Took 1.5 hours to get the starters then another 45 mins to 1 hour to receive the main after. Didn’t bother with desserts as took too long - we guessed there was an issue / delay in the kitchen.

My favourite restaurant for dates or with the whole family. Excellent service in terms of speed and personality, and the food didn't take long to get to us. The ribeye steak was delicious, can't wait to return next.

Excellent service and food, a good choice of reasonably priced breakfast items. The high standard that you always expect from Côte are in evidence at Côte York. Restaurant was busy but impeccably clean and service efficient but unhurried. Highly recommended.

Excellent service as always, however one of male waiters seemed to have a little arrogance, which wasn’t very appreciative, however this did not spoil our visit.

The ambience of the Cote was great. The staff were very helpful and polite. When a waiter accidentally spilt some drinks, the attention to detail in the clean-up situation was perfect. The food was superb, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. We were celebrating my 80th birthday and the whole place joined in to sing and offer best wishes. A memorable evening - you should try it especially for an important event. Graham

Great environment, exceptional service, and great food. We all had the swordfish steak, which was delicious with one exception - mine was a little thinner than the other two and as a result slightly overcooked. However, the whole experience was great and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

5 star destination. Delicious food with an excellent choice from well priced set menus, wonderful staff who are unfailingly friendly and polite. A great experience every time.

A very good Valentines menu meal with well chosen wine pairings. A good range of choices for each course and the small desert sharing plate was first class. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Only the habit of automatic adding of a service charge is an enduring irritation at Cote. You can’t even ask for it to be removed when you ask for the bill as you have to do so after the bill has arrived which is uncomfortable for both customers and staff. Please stop it Cote !
