Côte York

As usual the staff were very friendly and professional and there was a lovely atmosphere. The food was up to it's usual high standard. All in all another pleasant Cote visit and I look forward to coming back again.

Excellent service, nice atmosphere , not too noisy! House wine is excellent, one small issue with cold food handled well. Not too expensive either. Been here many times and always enjoyed it

As usual a great night at Cote . I asked for a table in the front section, much to our delight we were sat by the window ( people watching) fab !!

Always have great food and excellent service whatever the time of day, we have been for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the service is always attentive and nothing to much trouble, with a smiling server

We love Cote. The food is excellent and always really tasty. Good choice of menus and we like the monthly specials- February was particularly good. Very good service and lovely, friendly staff.

A fantastic night. We were celebrating 2 peoples 60th. The restaurant had got then both some flowers. A lovely idea. The food was great. The prestige set menu is great value. The service we got was fantastic. Cannot fault anything.

Very busy on the night we visited (9/2) but staff apologised quickly for slight delays in service. Fish Parmentier was OK, but the mash topping had suffered from an over-watery sauce, making it a little soggy.

Very nice. Little blip over the starter! The lady misheard what I’d asked for, but it was very quickly rectified. All in all a very nice meal.

Always a great eating experience, staff are attentive and professional and venue is central. We were fortunate to be seated in the window so had Saturday evening entertainment too!!

We had a very nice lunch, the only drawback was the fact that the drink offer was only available if you had a Main from the menu. My friends like a starter and a main, this is too much for me so I normally have a starter followed by a starter. This barred m e from the offer. Strangely if I had just had a Main or Light Main without a Starter I would have qualified, even though this would have been cheaper than my two starters! As my friends had cards which qualified us for a free drink, with or without a Main, we used that optio, and I had my Starter followed by another Starter. Perhaps you would would look into this for future monthly offers.

Both my husband and myself enjoyed our meals. The only negative was the asparagus on my meal accompanying the lamb . Some people might not see this as a negative but I thought the time between courses was a bit too fast . If we had been given a little more time we probably would have had a pudding.

Very low key atmosphere on entering, greeting polite but not particularly welcoming, so a little disappointing. We have visited several different branches of Cote, and usually the atmosphere is enthusiastic and very friendly, Food, as always was delicious, can’t fault it. Service was timely, and courteous.

Unfortunatly no scallops left but otherwise excellent as always. The suggested wine match was superb.

We are regular visitors to Côte and enjoyed our evening. Service was good and friendly and the food consistent as usual. Our friends were impressed. We will be visiting again soon.

The staff were lovely and really friendly. I had the chocolate fondant for dessert and it was, hands down, the best one I have had (and I have had quite a few). Would definitely be back here in the near future

We had a lovely leisurely breakfast this morning with our friends, we all thoroughly enjoyed it as always! It was the usual great service and quality food as you expect from Cote, we will be back!

This was our first visit to this particular Cote Brasserie - so we thought we knew what to expect. There were insufficient staff and the service was slow, although the staff appeared to be hard pressed. Having booked for four people to dine at mid-day we did not expect this - the restaurant was quiet when we arrived but filled up soon after. A tonic water had to be asked for as the wine had arrived but not the tonic. When it arrived there was ice in it although ice had been declined when the order was placed. The wine bottle was placed in a cooler nearby but we had to retrieve it ourselves as nobody came to offer any top ups. The food, as usual, was of good quality. It was a pity that the service standard fell short of other Cote Brasseries that we have used. I did comment on this and was advised that they had not expected the numbers (half term maybe) and had no bookings - although we had, indeed, booked.

Staff helpful and attentive. But several dishes on the set menu were sold out. My mussels were basically inedible- cracked shells or unopened. Lardons rock hard. I told the waiter who said he would mention it. But heard nothing more. Really not good enough- potentially dangerous to eat. Coffee extremely bitter - I like strong but this was unpleasant. Booked for dinner with senior colleagues- won’t be back

Very good. The food was tasty and good value for money. As this restaurant is part of a chain, we go there because we know we will be served a good meal. Sometime we go for brunch too, that is always very good. The staff were attentive but not gushing all over us.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Giuseppe was the perfect host, attentive but not obtrusive. My first visit but I will come again next time I visit York.

Went for the St Valentines special menu, there was a good choice and the quality of food was excellent. As good as Michelin but better value and good sized portions. The staff were very friendly and attentive; one of my favourite restaurants in York!

Great service and food. Restaurant is bigger than you think from the front. Menu had plenty of choice and had a great GF menu! Really enjoyed our meal.

Very polite and helpful staff. We had 3 children with us and helped us with the tables and the babychairs very fast. Food is always a guarantee at Cote! Just awesome! The calamari, steak, chicken.. wow! I would definitely suggest you to go and I know I will visit again for sure!

Excellent food, great service, stylish and comfortable surroundings and really good value. We had a fabulous breakfast here with our friends who were visiting York. A first class experience.

Not a good day for Cote. The caramelised bread was overcooked and overpriced . A new chef couldn't cope with making a batter without eggs for the two year old with egg allergy fish gougons ( this has been achieved in past visits tomCote) . The food was very late coming out for the children . Fortunately the member of staff noted this and arranged free drinks . Then we had futher to wait for the rissotto! The member of staff was extremely nice and apologetic BUT what she didn't know was that it was my daughter's birthday and i felt it was spoiled by a less than average experience. Sorry Cote York this was not a good day ! I have eaten at many Cotes in London , Cardiff , Harrogate, Leeds and many times at York. What went wrong?

Food was great , restaurant was full and good atmosphere , then it emptied quickly around 750 ish Service was very slow between courses which deflected the food experience which was good We will come for another try but we will be wary this time

Excellent food, staff, and atmosphere. Go-to place to eat when in York, always an excellent selection of food making choices very difficult. Don't forget to check the specials, and blood Orange martini is an excellent aperitif

Reliable service and dining at a sensible price. Food was great, although I think the set menus feel a bit the same as previous time. Good experience as always.

Great experience overall - from the greeting at the door right through to settling the bill. Food was outstanding - we ordered from the set menu and were not disappointed at all. My steak was excellent and the Bereton Tomato starter was exceptionally tasty.

I am french and I can tell you that I loved this meal, it reminded me home. I advice this restaurant for everyone, including french people, you will not be desappointed.

Excellent service and food, the waiter was fantastic and kept checking we were happy with everything. The food was delicious, and served without having to wait long. Really good meal would recommend.

Ate ar Cote 30 May. Really good meal. Scallops were tender and juicy. Main course of salmon very good, cooked to perfection. No room for dessert unlike my wife who managed the creme brulee. She even threatened to lick the plate.

WE ENJOYED THE MEAL - HOWEVER WE WAITED 50 MINUTES FOR OUR FOOD WHICH WAS QUITE A LONG TIME. OUR WAITER WAS HELPFUL AND POLITE. WE ALWAYS ENJOY OUR FOOD ..... PARTICULARLY THE CREME CARAMEL WHICH IS HARD TO RESIST.

Excellent food and exceptional service. Staff were extremely kind and made the visit thoroughly enjoyable. The menu was really varied and the quality of both our meals was excellent.

Cote Brasserie in York is our favourite restaurant. The food is consistently good and the menus cater for all tastes. The staff are excellent - whilst working incredibly hard, they always find time for a friendly word.

We dine here quite frequently. The food is always in top order and the staff are very polite and efficient.

Very efficient service especially from a young man who was obviously new to serving. So pleasant and brought everything we asked for. Food was delicious. Only star missing was due to very small children a couple of tables away being rather noisy. (Sorry very selfish of me). Unfortunately we had a lady with us who was a little deaf and the noise was a bit disruptive for her.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and delighted with the service from Sebastien. Food was very good and the wine excellent. Thank you for your hospitality.
