Good food - sensibly sized meals - good service - we ate downstairs which was a trifle cramped - quite pricey so loses one point. But try it out. One of the better restaurants in Pompey...

Thoroughly enjoyed the evening out with my girlfriend. The food was delicious and there was a nice variety. The two of us would definitely go again!

The food was very good and the Staff were cheerful and very polite. The only 2 negative points was the 1 hour wait for our food and not being asked if we required any additional drinks.

We were spoilt rotten by Claudio. When you visit Don Claudio it’s like visiting Italy for a couple of hours. Fabulous food, wine and chat. Grazie!

Delicious, authentic Italian food served by friendly staff in a warm, inviting atmosphere. I can't fault the place and will definitely be back again to visit soon!

The meal was absolutely delicious and wonderfully varied, which suited us very well given we were a large group. As it was Christmas, the restaurant was beautifully decorated and it had a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and obliging. We couldn't have had a better time. We would highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere and very enjoyable food. we ordered Lasagne which was very good. We look forward to visiting again in the near future as experience was surprisingly good.

Very warm welcome, excellent authentic Iatalian food. I recommend the ravioli (like fluffy clouds!), calzone and tiramisu, also plenty of limoncello. Can't believe we haven't found this place before, we will definitely be returning.

Have been here two times with a big group and it was very delicious and well organised!! Its a small restaurant but that makes it very cosy.

Our table was ready on time. My friend and I had delicious sea bass. The staff were efficient and charming. What more could we want?

Great atmosphere, great food ,reasonably priced great wines and very large portions. Go hungry! We will certainly go back if only to meet the lovely staff again.

Attentive friendly staff with delicious authentic Italian food; what more do you need?!? My only criticism would be that the table we were sat at was right by the open door of the kitchen which interfered with the ambiance

Great menu, lots of options, amazing food, friendly and attentive staff. The lunch deal was great value for money as was the main menu. Drinks were a little expensive. I was surprised how quiet it was there, I will be recommending it to friends and visiting again.

The main restaurant is quite small and the greeting is friendly and warm. The menu has typical dishes Carbanara, Bolognese and Risotto. They also do a great range in Pizzas so they cater for all ages. Good sized dishes but don't expect a la cart. It is nice food and down to earth. Staff are friendly and chatty, wine is good too. For me it is ideal midweek supper.

Fantastic restaurant. Staff were probably the best I've had the pleasure to meet in a restaurant. Food was also excellent. Go with an empty stomach as portion sizes were fabulous.

The restaurant staff could not be more welcoming but the giid was not up to scratch We received the wrong dish and the risotto was hard. They did apologise but not a good first impression

While visiting Portsmouth for a long weekend, I had booked an evening meal here for my wife’s birthday, it was a bit of a gamble as I have no knowledge of the restaurant or area but did so after checking online reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint, the food and service were excellent. The menu catered for all tastes with a good selection of dishes to choose from. As a vegetarian in an Italian restaurant I as usual had little difficulty in finding something to choose from the menu but my wife who is a generally a meat eater, on the night also choose a vegetarian option, we both agreed it was one of the best meals we had eaten out for some time. The only downside was that we were seated downstairs with two large and noisy parties, but it didn’t dampen the night too much.

Very friendly staff and delicious dishes are worth more than one Michelin Star. Luckily person who own this restaurant didn't lose a head and prefer serving only a few customers and keep calm atmosphere with music in the background and nice smells from the kitchen in the very end, just behind our back!

A convivial atmosphere, with excellent food, Don Claudio is like an eating experience with friends. The food was sublime, seasonal and very reasonably priced. If you want fast food, go to a fast-food outlet; if you want the real, truly authentic Italian culinary experience, then this is the place for you. Highly recommended that you book, and bearing in mind that Italians come here in droves to eat, this is a fantastic addition to the restaurant scene in Portsmouth.

Great welcome, great food. The menu was excellent, but the 'specials' were superb too. We had and early sitting but by the time we left, still relatively early, the restaurant had filled up nicely. Clearly a popular place, and its easy to see why.

We really enjoyed our meal here, good food and the service was very friendly. The bill was cheaper then we expected too and we felt we got good value for our money, would definitely eat here again.

This is the 3rd time I have been to Don Claudio's, and it is a great little place. While it may be a bit tight for space inside, the atmosphere is good, the staff very friendly and welcoming, and the food is all delicious - not to mention the generous portions! The only (very minor) downer for me is that the menu seems to have remained largely the same for the past year or so, but they had a good selection of specials to choose from too, at regular prices!

An excellent and authentic Ilalian restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive but never seemed to be rushing us and the food was excellent, including the best tiramisu I have ever had! Highly recommended.

Excellent pasta. Friendly and efficient staff. Prices are very reasonable. This is a lovely restaurant although I find the downstairs seating a bit claustrophobic. Will go again.

A non chain Italian restaurant with Italian owners and staff is hard to find in Portsmouth. Excellent food and service. Swordfish was wonderful as was the vegetarian pasta dish. Look forward to our next return visit.

This was our fourth visit to this restaraunt. The staff have been helpful and friendly on each occassion. The food has always been excellent. My Fiancee has particularly enjoyed the sea bass. I can recommend the Steak which was cooked (rare) to perfection. The specials board always seems to have some interesting dishes. I have not tried the Pizza yet which is on my to do list. The owner is originally from Southern Italy so it's nice to have another authentic Italian restaraunt in Portsmouth.

An excellent pizza in a too narrow restaurant. The table in front of the pizza oven is too hot, I suggest to bring the round table on an another place of the restaurant.

Good service, my partner loved her seafood risotto, but sadly my chicken was raw and had to be replaced, staff apologetic and did not charge me for my meal and gave us free drinks.

Delicious food and excellent service in cosy surroundings. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends. My partner raved about his tiramisu, best ever!

Lovely, authentic food. Great atmosphere. Delicious starters, hearty mains. The steak was a highlight. A bit pricey but nice for a special occasion. Tiny tiny espresso for £2.25! x

Lovely little restaurant, staff were very welcoming and gave a great service. Couldn't fault the food, probably one of the best Italian meals we've had. Will definitely be returning.
