We received attentive and very pleasant service for my Mum's birthday lunch. We had a roast dinner which was tasty and great value. I'll definitely return!

Really good to find a doggy-friendly place to eat/drink, they even provided a bowl of water for our dog. Food was tasty and good value, staff very friendly. My only small criticism is the table and utensils could have been cleaner but otherwise a very positive experience, I will be back.

My mum had the Beef burger and it was SO tasty (i stole a bite) And I had the scouse pie with chips :) Food was gorgeous, I couldn't manage a dessert (Gutted) Determined to try the sticky toffee pud on our next visit though! Can't fault the place. We were pleasantly surprised and horrified that we hadn't visited this gem sooner. (moved to the area a year ago). Lovely pub grub! Lovely staff!

Good pub food, however it can vary from time to time. I ordered the same meal twice in a month. The first time it was excellent and the second it was OK. Worth a visit though!

The menu was varied and the food excellent. There was only one "front of house" member of staff and there were a number of groups lunching which made it hard work for them.

High quality Christmas Turkey Dinner with veg cooked from fresh, thick slices of turkey breast, and all the trimmings, followed by delicious desserts and a friendly service. Great night catching up with a friend, and good value!

We went here for a Roast Dinner on a Sunday; the roasts were nice apart from my partners lamb being a bit fatty, and the deserts were delicious. Only thing was the tables were really sticky which made them feel unclean and for the amount you are paying, I would have expected table service rather than ordering at the bar. That said, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and I was pleased that they had a vegetarian roast option available.

Good food and atmosphere. Excellent Sunday lunches with massive portions. Good vegetarian options available. Lots of different drinks available - recommend the gins in particular!

It was busy, unorganised and slow service nice beer garden and decor though so would return in future. Over an hour wait for food in a pub is ridiculous

Went for a Mother's Day meal with 3 generations. Venue great and staff as good as always. Food ok but think perhaps we'd have been better with roasts.

After ordering we waited over fifty minutes when only one came he had nearly finished by the time mine came and mine was cold and had to be recooked! Didn't have one of the sweets we had pre paid for and they only told us after I asked where my sweet was! Despite getting half our money back a free drink and an apolgy I would not dine here again.

We both had an absolutely huge roast dinner! And with a starter was such good value. Great range of beers too. Really cool pub interior also.

A lovely meal on New Years Eve despite the venue being very busy, staff were great and food fantastic too. Would definitely recommend the homemade scampi!

Went for a 2-course Christmas Roast at 2pm last Sunday. Food was excellent but service very slow (took 2.5 hours from ordering to leaving) and communication poor. Had to go back twice to the bar and ask. And got soup spoons for our deserts! But as I said, food quality great.

Love the dovedale, really nice atmosphere & great food! Out door area is great in the sun but if it's cold the inside is lovely & cosy. Great for few drinks if not eating too although beer on the more expensive side. Burger & a beer mid -week for £10 makes it a firm favourite. Staff are lovely & really go out of their way too. Accessible for disabled!!

Lovely building, ample parking but the "rustic" board and chipped enamel cups left me a little concerned about hygiene. Food itself was expected pub grub

Booked for Sunday roast. Arrived and advise no roast, no mixed grill, no bread! So made our order of steak, salad and burgers for the kids, as we were leaving then noticed a number of tables being served roast dinners! We specifically booked this restaurant for the roast and while it looked good the food we received was disappointing and we wouldn't return.

The exceptional staff make this pub what it is and the food is always of a very good standard with good value for money. We all got the roast dinner and there was plenty to go round. Definitely worth reserving a table on a Sunday as they reserve the roasts for booking customers.

Awesome Sunday Roast and friendly staff. We were on the hunt for a chilled out pub and it hit the spot on a lazy rainy Sunday. Great tunes.

Noone was around to greet us on the door, it was very quiet for a Sunday at lunchtime. Went to bar to tell staff we were there and overheard another table ordering to be told there was a 40 minute wait on food. We were taken to our table which was shoe horned into a small space and I couldn't get my legs under the table! I then went up to check with the staff how long food would take to be told yes around 40 mins. I asked why, is it always this long? To be told it depends how busy it is yeah, but the establishment was extremely quiet and we couldn't understand why the wait. Looked around and food didn't look worth the wait. Sorry, don't know if they had a bad day but we weren't impressed!!
