Couldn't have a conversation with friends as we were sat under a speaker so it was too noisy. One of our party didn't receive his meal, and after enquiring he was brought the wrong meal, but we didn't have time to wait for the correct meal to be cooked. The waitress asked if he would like anything 'on the house' to take away but after asking for a dessert he was then told he'd have to pay for it. Was a shame as he'd recommended the restaurant to us and it was a disappointment.

Ermm the burgers arent the same anymore. . . I believe i had an allergic reaction to the zinger burger which ive always ordered so i dont know whats changed. But im not sure I'll will be coming back anytime soon, very sorry but miss the original burgers and recipes even the buns and slaw included. The servicers are lovely and friendly cannot fault them. The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous.

The staff are always so friendly and welcoming! This restaurant not only has the most delicious food but also such a calm and inviting atmosphere. The jäger seitan wings are to die for & i’m so sad to see the sweet corn ribs go but it’s bittersweet as there’s now so much more to try! Thankyou DTH team as always!

As always, the food was delicious and the staff super friendly and helpful. Really generous portion sizes for surprising affordable prices. Nice relaxed atmosphere. You gotta try the northern poutine!

Starters were amazing. Mains.. not so good. Dry as anything. Bun was so dry it put me off my food altogether. We was seated in ‘bar area’ and then asked if we didn’t mind staying there so we just said yes but was just clearly forgotten about. As someone who is a manager in hospitality as well I really think use where understaffed. We was not looked after in the slightest. The kitchen was clearly overwhelmed as well as use where taking so many click and collect and delivery orders

Upon entering got the Spanish Inquisition and asked why we didn’t and wouldn’t download the nhs app even though we were happy to supply details. Very oppressive welcome. Food was average at best, tasteless, soulless and deep fried at worst.

As per usual, Down the hatch, gave us wonderful food - "new menu" and great staff! As a family we felt safe and enjoyed our visit x thank you x

This was our first visit to Down the Hatch...my wife's been a veggie for 2 years so we're always looking at tasty meat alternatives...Down the Hatch deffo fits the bill. I'm not a vegetarian BUT the food on offer was absolutely gorgeous, we will definitely be going back. Only problem we had was finding it, you have to be on the correct side of the street to find it as it's below street level...virtually underneath the old Le Bateaus on Duke st
