Elia Greek Restaurant

Pre theatre menu was really nice and good value. Only problem was a mix up with the food ordered and 2 of the 5 in the party had to wait while the food was reordered. Otherwise very good and we would go back again. Not a great selection but adequate.

Staff were so friendly and food was plentiful and delicious. Went with a group and had great night. We had the 4/5 course menu- great value for money. We will definitely go back.

Went for lunch and had the calamari, chicken soulvaki and balkava and finished with greek coffee it was delicious. Staff also friendly and helpful . Would highly recommend.

From the truly warm welcome on arrival (being greeted by name was a wonderful touch) to the delicious authentic food and attentive service Elia is a true gem in the city. The location is fabulous too - will be back soon!

Lovely food and the staff were really friendly and attentive. They have small intimate tables and long tables for large groups. We ate from the £6.95 for two courses menu and everything was perfect and served very quickly. Definitely be back!

Really good value for money and great service. The food is great with nice wine to match. I've been several times and have never been disappointed.

My meal was ok but my husband got the wrong meal, we told the waiter, he took it away but brought the same dish back saying that was what he ordered, it was a veal dish which he wouldn't have ordered as he doesn't like it, also the service was poor, they couldn't get us out quick enough

We enjoyed some lovely food in a welcoming comfortable environment. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience and one we look forward to repeating. A real gem in the centre of Glasgow.

We hadn't been to Elia before but I was meeting family and the city centre suited us, although it was Mothers Day and very busy we had great food, lovely welcoming friendly staff, very positive experience and I highly recommend

started off all right then after more than half an hour when waiter came to see if all ok we said not got our mains yet felt like order had been forgotten no apology our food very average wont be back

Perfect. Lovely staff, tasty food and wine. Myself and my partner took our mums out for mothers' day, both mums ordered from the special menu while we shared the meze between us (such a lot of food!). Most have us have been before and we'll definitely be back.

The food was excellent, with good sized portions. The waiting staff were very friendly and very good help in choosing from the menu. Service was prompt but relaxed enough. Would certainly go back!

This was our first visit and we will be back! We had the early evening menu which was excellent value at £9.95 per person and the house wine was very acceptable. I would have given this review a 6 had it not been for the extra portion of dolmades which were exceptionally small and tasteless, but this did not detract from the rest of the meal. The beef Kokkinsto was delicious and the baked fish was beautiful. We will return and probably try the A la Carte next time.

Wonderful food, just like my mother makes it! Had the meze for two and our friends could then try a variety of different meals. Really friendly staff, great atmosphere and we will be back again.

Excellent relaxed evening with friends. Terrific meze starters which you can take your time over and then tuck into great mains all washed down with chilled Retsina. Takes you straight back to Crete.

Lovely meal. Reasonably priced , good food and nice atmosphere . Pretty busy for 5.30 on a Saturday which is a good sign . Will be back!

The staff where nice and friendly, lovely food which was a tad expensive but worth it no draught beers but nice to get a frappe

Very friendly, efficient service. We tried the two course set menu. Very good value. Servings were perfect for lunchtime. Would definitely go back. On a different note toilets were immaculate.

Atmosphere on entry was lacking in warmth. The staff are under a lot of pressure to perform. This reflects in the customer experience making it feel like a conveyor belt of money making. We picked from the 'a la carte' menu as the lunch menu deal looked minimal & unappealing. The presented plates of food were placed on the table & they looked like the food had dropped from a great height as the plates were un-wiped after splashing sauce onto it. The quality of the food was lacking both in presentation & taste. Starter dishes were not removed as the mains arrived. I was offered my used cutlery for my main but I insisted it be replaced. Very unprofessional. I will not be back ever. If I want a Greek food experience I will make it myself.

Fantastic vibrant place and great, helpful experienced staff.I've had a table of 5 booked for my wife birthday and everything been above my expectations apart from this that was a friday night usualy most busy time when staff members and chefs are tired and bombarded with orders but they doing well under pressure.Food been very goood and portion sizes enourmous.Prices also very suprising.Waiting time less than average at simillar places on friday night.For a first time visit strongly recommended.I know what I'm saying because I'm a chef with 20 years experience and I can apppreciate somebody else work ethic and effort.

Nice authentic fresh food, great value for weekday lunch menu. Friendly waiter served us. Ideal for express lunch although we weren't rushed by the staff. Would recommend & go again.

We visited on Valentines Day, so could choose from a set menu. The food was gorgeous and the service was impeccable. Would definitely go back again!

Great food, great location, wonderful staff. Our table looked over George Square and the Council Chambers building. The restaurant itself is in a grand Victorian building and a pleasant interior. We shared a meze selection that included a light spanakopita and an exceptional dolma, delicately and aromatically spiced. My main was a good portion of a well cooked giouvetsi accompanied by a bottle of "Mythos" beer. The meat was tender and the orzo "al dente" but, best of all, the dish was beautifully spiced and seasoned. My two less adventurous fellow diners took the chicken souvlaki and both enjoyed it. The portions were generous enough to preclude ordering desserts. The staff were prompt and courteous and the bill of £55 for the three of us was value for money.

visited Elia Sat night for 1st time. We opted for meze so we could have taste if few things. It did not disappoint. Everything we had was lovely. could not fault the food at all. Also was extremely busy and the staff were extremely attentive. Will DEFINITELY go back.

The two course lunch was lovely and the price was very reasonable would highly recommend it . We have also went for dinner a couple of times ..

What a lovely restaurant, right in the city centre. We were seated at the window, with a great view of George square. Service was spot on, and food was excellent The prices were very reasonable. We will be back!

Interior very attractive in central Glasgow position Staff very nice and attentive. Food good, if a little meagre in the portions Would consider returning another time.
