Housed in a gorgeous and sensitively refurbished Regency building – with a history that’s special to the spa town of Cheltenham – down Portland Street on the northern edge of the town centre, The Everest is an Indian tandoori restaurant and balti house that sounds all the right notes for upscale but accessible South Asian dining. Chef’s specials are numerous but not throwaway gestures to uniqueness – the mixed grill really does introduce The Everest’s métier while the so-called Bahamas pasanda is something you won’t find elsewhere. Book a buffet night on Tuesday and Thursday for a really affordable treat.
Incredibly busy, post race meet, so coped remarkably well given the number of large groups in. Food was very tasty and came reasonably fast considering. Have been before, will come again. Only negative was, no dessert menu, which was a bit odd.
Best Indian restaurant in Cheltenham town. Always good service, really tasty curries and good selection of starters. Good banter with the staff, they always keep your drinks full and have a laugh.
Booked at the last minute when Cheltenham was very busy. We enjoyed Lovely food and staff could not have been more welcoming. Fair prices. Well recommended
A nice meal and friendly service. The portion size was about right which meant you didn't leave food. They would happily of put the left overs in cartons for us.
