Was a great atmosphere and lovely food! Would definitely recommend

Service was slow. The food was good. Not much ambiance but it was very early. I’m told by a reliable source they do a fantastic Sunday lunch.

Really nice spot for a good lunch and catch up with family in the centre of Nottingham. Good variety and menu choice. We particularly enjoyed the mushrooms on toast starter and thr fish and chips.

Atmosphere and food excellent as usual, along with the professional excellent staff. What's not to love?! Great job everyone!

Reservations were good and a nice table for 5 people (round). Nice atmosphere and staff were pleasant. Menu choice was very good and portion size spot on. To improve addition of sparkling and still water as complimentary on the table. Staff smile a bit more.

I love the Sunday roast at fothergills, in my opinion it’s the best roast in Nottingham. Had a great lunch with friends, the staff were friendly and the food was great!

This is the second time we have eaten here, we only had mains, I had mussels and chips and my wife had rump steak and chips, the mussels were excellent however the chips tasted like oven chips and the crusty bread was a part bake petit pain which wasn't very crusty, the wifes rump steak was good quality but too much salt and pepper during cooking and again oven chips, the restaurant is lovely, the staff aren't the best and feel they lack training, prices are really good and would try again hopefully better chips and staff next time.

Food was generally good and location lovely ... service was very slow, waited a long time for drinks and food. Not sure that when ordering a bottle of wine it should come ready corked and not offered to tase it. Never had a bottle of wine in any restaurant where they don’t remove the cork in front of you !

Arrived quite early but didn't have to wait for our table; pleasant staff. Reasonably priced lunch menu which included a drink. Will definitely visit again.

Sunday lunch was delicious. The beef was pink and juicy and the vegetables very fresh. I am a gravy fanatic, it can make or break a roast, Fothergills gravy definitely makes for the best roast in town.

We received a friendly welcome and service throughout was good. It took a little longer to get coffee at the end and to pay the bill than was ideal - but this was a Sunday lunchtime and the restaurant was very busy. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Good options both for vegetarians and for carnivores. This was the first time we have been and would certainly go again.

Fothergills is well worth a visit. Great value, great food and great service. I will be going again and telling all my friends. The wine and dine deal is an ideal mid week treat.

Nice room. Food was of good quality and very tasty. The waitress was very efficient and cheerful. 2 minor issues, they’d run out of one of the beers and some of the wines.

I found the staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and value for money. i will be comming back.

Great relaxed restaurant with a bar. Food was very good including one of our party who had a veggie option. Serving staff were very friendly and efficient. Mid range prices so thought the value for the quality of food and drink was excellent. Only tip would be if you don't want it to be too busy then ask to avoid the tables opposite the bar and go for the tables in the upstairs restaurant or in the lower level from the bar area. Main upstairs restaurant had a private function on the Saturday we went so would like to have been informed of that in advance.

The food was incredible as always and the staff are always really friendly and helpful, always a great night when we come here and so much fun too!

Good service as always. Food was good probably one of the best Sunday roasts available in Nottingham. Well done guys. The place has lots of character in a great location bear the castle.

We had a great roast dinner here this afternoon with really friendly service. The atmosphere was brilliant and exactly what we hoped for. Will definitely return

I was astonished to find that I had been charged for the extra gravy I had asked for to accompany my vegetarian Sunday roast. In light of this I vastly reduced the tip! The meal was burned in places and to be frank is no better than that provided cheaper elsewhere.

Service was friendly and efficient on what was admittedly a quiet night in the restaurant. There's quite a good range of dishes on offer on the menu. Both my friend and I enjoyed our choices: tasty black pudding, stuffed with Leicester cheese for her starter; very spicy prawns and chorizo for mine, followed by mains of duck and Thai salad, and steak and ale pie with veg. Puddings weren't really necessary, but we had them anyway and enjoyed them. The wine list has a good choice on offer from both Old World and New and at reasonable prices.

The food is OK, but a bit overpriced for what they offer. The location is great and the serving was prompt. The wine selection in terms of by the glass is not great.

Pre-theatre dinner this time. Good food and friendly service. Good beer too. Have eaten here many times and always found it to be consistently good.

Lovely decorr, meal very tasty, portion size good. Waitress had a varying mood sometimes rather snippy. Meat a little over done. We attended with a person with gluten in tolerance and bread was served in the sauce of the starter after we had asked for that to be left out.

Attentive staff and lovely food. The wine list could be a bit more extensive but some good local beers. Reasonable prices and a great atmosphere.

Starter and main meal were delicious. Slightly disappointed with pudding. Restaurant in a good location in the city, with other nice bars near by. Overall would definitely recommend.

Staff were pleasant and attentive but not intrusive. Food was well presented and tasty; wine list was comprehensive. We would come back and recommend to others. Only reason for a five was the slightly draughty conditions at table we were given (adjacent to an unused door), but a curtain helped - it was a particularly cold day!

Brilliant night at Fothergills as usual. The food was wonderful and the staff were super as they always are. I'm always made to feel very welcome and last night was no exception. By far my favourite place to eat and drink in Nottingham. Keep it up guys and gals!
