Found not far from Bootle New Strand station on Stanley Road, Golden Castle is a go-to spot for satisfying, fuss-free Chinese food for anybody around Liverpool docks and the northern suburbs. If you’re flying solo it’s hard to beat comforting classics like sweet and sour chicken, char siu noodle soup and of course some steamy pork dumplings to kick things off. Romantic dinners for two are also popular here, as the Golden Castle chef’s special for two provides plenty of spice to get the juices flowing. Larger groups, though, are particularly well looked after at Golden Castle, where lavish Chinese dishes like Peking aromatic crispy duck, crispy shredded beef in chilli sauce, salt and chilli pepper spare ribs, crispy fragrant lamb rolled up in pancakes or seaweed with grated fish can be shared communally, allowing a full exploration of Golden Castle’s vast menu.
Not going again absolute chaos there were complaints coming in for phone orders every five minutes and one customer turned up to find out what was going on and it became a little uncomfortable when the food was served I couldn't start because I didn't have a fork and my wife waited five Mitford rice after her food was put on the table
Food was hot and plentiful Staff went out of their way to be helpful even though really busy nothing to much trouble. Fast service and facilities good
