Fans of South Asian cuisine in the Nottingham suburb of Stapleford are lucky to have Gurkha Curry Nights in their midst. We say South Asian, but the label seems something of a misnomer, considering that this Nepalese restaurant’s obvious forte is high-altitude Himalayan cuisine from the far north of the Indian subcontinent. Indeed there are some Indian dishes on the menu – the two nations have millennia of shared culinary culture between them – but with a kitchen crewed by top chefs from Nepal, you can expect a plethora of regional Nepalese delicacies on the menu. The Gurkha specials are particularly recommended when you first pay a visit to Gurkha Curry Night’s Nottingham Road restaurant, with highlights including the rum rum chicken and Himali lamb shank.
Lovely restaurant, very good service and ambiance. Had a starter and main but being a little elderly could not finish the main. Such a pity as the food was excellent. Highly recommended.
This place makes some very nice food and the staff are extremely pleasant. The portions are very generous and tasty! The environment is nice even though it's next to a busy main road you hardly notice it.
