Fans of South Asian cuisine in the Nottingham suburb of Stapleford are lucky to have Gurkha Curry Nights in their midst. We say South Asian, but the label seems something of a misnomer, considering that this Nepalese restaurant’s obvious forte is high-altitude Himalayan cuisine from the far north of the Indian subcontinent. Indeed there are some Indian dishes on the menu – the two nations have millennia of shared culinary culture between them – but with a kitchen crewed by top chefs from Nepal, you can expect a plethora of regional Nepalese delicacies on the menu. The Gurkha specials are particularly recommended when you first pay a visit to Gurkha Curry Night’s Nottingham Road restaurant, with highlights including the rum rum chicken and Himali lamb shank.
The restaurant team are so friendly towards customers and the ambience relaxing. Oh forgot to say the food is fantastic, different of course to your normal Indian Menu.
Very impressed, our first but not last visit, great food and service . We are going to get friends together for Xmas eve there, love it .
Fabulous evening !!! Amazing food !!!! Wonderful attentive staff ! Will be back soon as will majority of our 16 plus party who had never been before
Brilliant service and the most gorgeous food! We come here a lot and they always look after us! Would highly recommend to anyone ! Better than any other local curries :)
As buffets go this is a good one if one with perhaps fewer choices than some . I particularly liked the dal . I will use it again and certainly will carry on visiting for the fuller evening menu .
Took my wife on Valentine's day, single rose and heart shaped balloon on the table. A great meal a good selection of wines and a price that doesn't break the bank. Service a little slower than usual but it was Valentine's day. All in all highly recommended.
A really good value for money meal. Friendly attentive staff, freshly cooked tasty food, what more could you want! The only downside for us, is the lack of a car park as my husband is lazy & would like to be able to park closer.
Really pleasant Sunday Buffet lunch - staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Food was plentiful, tasty and diverse - I tried dishes I wouldn't normally have done. Good choice of beers and drinks, and decor pleasant. Highly recommend and will likely return.
I really like the dahl dish . This place deserves our support . I really have nothing to add from my last review which as I recall was quite positive as indeed it should be .
