Located on Lower Dock Street, Hatti is the first point of call for Newport’s curry lovers when looking for an authentic Indian feast in the city centre. Hatti combines traditional and contemporary influences, both in their decor and in their menu, with options ranging from time-honoured classics to modern favourites. We recommend beginning your meal with some tandoori spiced lamb chops or the bhuna king prawn puri, before moving on to the main affair. From the classic chicken tikka massala to mirchi duck, machha jhola traditional Bengali recipe with fresh fish cooked with aubergines and black onion seeds) and an array of vegetarian dishes, there’s something to suit all tastes and dietary requirements on the menu at Hatti. Eaten here twice now and on both occasions the food was lovely. Their service is also wonderful, staff are so polite and welcoming. Now my favourite indian.
We went to Hatti for our first visit last night for my husbands birthday. We had a fantastic evening. The staff were very friendly, menu extensive and the food beautifully cooked and presented. I tried an Indian fish dish..not something I would have considered before seeing the advice on the menu...to try something different you would not normally have...it was fabulous! We will definately return.
Excellent service with excellent food. Would highly recommend this restaurant Greeted warmly at the door and shown straight to our table Will be going back very soon
great service, fab food & good atmosphere. really different menu haven't found a good Indian cuisine like this for a long time. will definitely be recommending it to friends & family.
Words cannot describe the wonderful Hatti! Everything from the decor, the ambience, the superb, friendly staff to the excellent food and drink is just Heaven! And a special mention for Zee....
Wonderful as ever! 👍 Recommend the Hatti platter as a starter. Thanks as usual to Zee and his staff for a lovely evening in this great restaurant
We had a most enjoyable evening at the Hatti recently. The food was excellent and the service friendly but efficient. Would recommend. We will definitely be returning.
Excellent food and excellent service. Both the lamb shank and duck were delicious. The manager (name escapes me) couldn't do enough for us. Went for a birthday meal and the staff went out of their way to decorate the table and leave a box of chocolates. Will definitely be returning soon.
Lovely restaurant. From the welcome to the food to the service - all were spectacular. Zee made us very welcome and the staff were very friendly. Food was excellent and historic. We'll be back again soon.
The whole dining experience was great, staff lovely and attentive, ambience and food was amazing. Would definitely recommend and will be going back. A bit more expensive than your regular curry but worth every penny.
The ambience and food were faultless. An excellent dining experience and enjoyable evening. Charming staff too. I havent given full marks because they were unable to provide semi or skimmed milk for my coffee. A small issue easily resolved. Highly recommended though
Excellent food and a very warm welcome. It was our wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty in a lovely atmosphere. Our evening was great. We will be back soon.
This is the best Indian restaurant in South Wales. Not only is the service excellent, with very accommodating staff, but the food is of a very high standard indeed
Friendly welcome, food and service of a very good standard therefore would certainly go back and tell others of our experience. Thx for a good night.
