Additional dish not ordered was given and charged for. Although it was only a long while after serving they told us of the mistake. One of the veg dishes had too much chilli in it so we couldn't eat it.

Purity Gold tasted like it was on the turn and the person serving me handled it very well. Although I did get the usual "well I've been serving it all day" she did give me an alternative pint of Jimbo and I later noticed that the tap card had been spun around so maybe they did take it off in the end. Food was, as always amazing but £12.50 just for the dish of jalfrezi (no rice) does seem a bit steep tbh.

11/10 definitely worth the visit if ever in Birmingham !

The mixed grills are now so so expensive! I ordered a Jalfrezi and it was so spicy but all they did was add cream to it! It was horrible. So so disappointing as we used to love it here!!

Love the Hen & Chickens. When we arrived, we were seated in the restaurant which I prefer with 4 friends. We all had mixed grill and chips and it was ace. Thoroughly enjoyed our food, drinks and the company. Upon leaving Gillian made a note on our next booking that we would like to be in the restaurant again for 8 of us. Looking forward to our next visit again.

The 4 of us arrived and seated in the restaurant, we had the mixed grill and our friends had curries, naan, rice and chips. We enjoyed it that much we made a booking to come back in August for 6 of us.

booked with 5 friends for 5pm on a Thursday. was fairly empty and back rooms were not in use at all. unfortunately Purity beers was not on but cobra draft was fine. food very good but mistakenly given a chilli chicken instead of chilli fish to a non meat eater but quickly changed with no issues. good value for food and quality and quantity of mixed grill, fish and lamb curry plus naan.

The staff were really friendly, and the food came quite quickly and was delicious. They didn't rush us and we kept the table for quite a while after we'd finished eating which allowed us to have more drinks!

I attend central Birmingham on business every few weeks, and a number of us look to eat here whenever we are there. As with yesterday evening, w have never been disappointed, and they absolutely fully met our one request which we submitted when we booked online, which was to have full view of a TV in order that we may watch England's game against the Netherlands. Request was totally met! Thanks.
