Love going to the Hercules, great food and friendly atmosphere.

Have been a few times always welcomed lovely people nothing is to much trouble food outstanding.

Our experience was top notch. Everything was delicious, the wait staff were polite, efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My wife requires a gluten-free diet, and the way she was treated was fantastic. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cosy and classy. This is the right spot to go for a nice meal out with family or friends.

I have never submitted a bad review before. We were looking forward to our meal yesterday but unfortunately the experience was not something we would wish to repeat. This is a pub charging restaurant prices and over committing the availability of both staff and space. We had previously been asked to move the day for our meal by a week due to a private function and we were promised that we would be treated well for our flexibility. When we arrived yesterday we were presented with a tiny table for the five of us. One of our group was forced to sit in the main thoroughfare. On asking if there was a more appropriate table it was made clear that this was the only option. It transpired there was a private function upstairs taking nearly all the resources and the main dining area was filled beyond a sensible capacity. The young staff were over committed and there were long delays in the whole dining experience. We were over two hours for main course only. We ordered simple cold deserts but the delay was so long we left before they could arrive. During the delay we did enquire on the desert and were promised they were on the way, this was half an hour before we decided to leave without the deserts. This was intended as a special occasion for celebrating Mother’s Day.
