This was a traditional dim sum restaurant, the place was very packed but the food matched expectations
Enjoyed all the food we ordered. A negative for us was being given cold plates to eat the food off. Loved the sizzling fillet steak dish apart from whenever or wherever we've had it before as the name says it sizzled but not here. Absolutely no sizzle at all. Tables are very close to other diners. We would however eat here again.
Friendly and efficient service but a very tired and scruffy interior and filthy toilets. The food is pretty low-grade. Think market town takeaway rather than authentic China Town cuisine. This is definitely set up for tourists seeking cheap grub rather than anyone looking for a quality experience. Unless you are very strapped for cash and don’t really care about quality, avoid this place and pay a few quid extra for a decent Chinese (after all, you are surrounded by them)!
We love the food and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One minor thing I want to point out and suspect it was more down to the crowded restaurant but we ordered the set menu but the main courses were brought out before we finished the starters. This would not necessarily be a big issue but my wife is a slow eater so her main course was not warm when she was ready for it. It won't put us off coming again as we love the food and restaurant
Food was cold, some dishes on the menu weren’t available, and the main course was served before the starters.
Quandoo is closing down. This is a planned, phased process and our platform remains available until 30 September 2026.
Not great food. Just ok. Also they had finished all the duck.
Authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum, yum and hot! But sadly poor service! While my daughter was still reading but asked to return the menu, and the dim sum in the corner of the table where customers were expected to serve themselves; I couldn’t feel welcoming when asked what kind of tea we liked. Shared our comments with the manager hopefully the service could be improved!
Delicious dim sum! Nice atmosphere and service. Highly recommend and will definitely eat here again.
Nourriture de mauvaise qualité à part les dim sum. Mais les nouilles avait le goût de la poêle qui a trop cuit
Delicious food, good atmosphere, great value. I would come back any time
Perfect for a pre-theatre meal. Quick, efficient service and delicious food.
We’ve been show upstairs to the first floor where was open doors downstairs and udostairs with a huge draft of very cold air food was barely warm and we saw our server once when he came to take the order then somone ale brought the food. Service charge is pointless to be paid but anyway we won’t be back as food was very average
Really good food, great service. Only minor comment is a couple of the dishes could of been hotter.
A great meal in a lovely setting. It’s one of the best in china town in my option. The food is always really good and has great service.
Was expecting way more with respect to taste, quality and quantity for the price. Was a bit disappointed to be honest.
We had the reservation but still need to wait along with the other customers in the queue. Dim sum was great, but the fried rice was lumpy .. disappointed
Dinner with 5 friends. Restaurant was very busy which was good as it gave it a nice ambience. Very happy with all the dishes we had except the beef brisket in black bean sauce in the clay pot. Very fatty and to me brisket should fall off the bone. However, all the other dishes were good. We had the set menu C for 3 so we could order some individual dishes. Very pleased with the wine we had too. Couldn’t fault the service given how busy it was.
Wonderful dim sum in London, will visit again next time !
Food was fine but the service was really bad. The waiter and waitress who served 1st floor were rude. We reserved a table but my friends were late due to the traffic of London with special occasion - “Christmas Market”. The waitress even blamed on their late. We were really uncomfortable with this kind of “special service”. If you want enjoyable and chilling experience, avoid this restaurant. I believe there’s another better Chinese restaurant in London.
We booked a table for 7pm, arrived on time and were told there was a 40 min wait by a rude waiter. We were expected to wait outside in the rain, therefore we went home.
Fantastic food, lovely staff, great ambience and very good value
I wish that they would repair their lift! It was out of order when we last visited - many months ago - and is again (or still?) out of order.
Cold and fatty pork, came late. Evening dim sum ok, duck with dry cucumber and spring onions
The food was good excellent and the restaurant was beautiful. However the serving staff were sullen, bordering on rude. We were 9 of us celebrating a birthday and it put a damper on our experience.
We have been coming to Joy King Kai for many years now and every time the food was amazing
We had a set meal for 3 people and it was amazing in food quality and service.
Good food and good service, I've been there many times and I've never been disappointed
This is one of the best in china town with an extensive menu to choose from. The quality of the food is excellent and you will not go hungry as the portions are great.
Very traditional Cantonese taste like shrimp dumplings. And price valued! Highly recommended!
Authentic Chinese cuisine. Friendly staff and quick service. I will be back on my next trip to London
The only negative was that the food got quite cold before we had finished eating. Plates need to be warmed!
Wonderful hospitality and the best Chinese food we’ve had as a family in ages! Thank you :)
Delicious food, great service, and easy to book. Thank you!
First time dining in china. Town in years and while I enjoyed the food it is pricey for a lunch so maybe leave it till evening dinning slots. The quality of dim sum is great.
Very authentic HK style Dim Sum. Thx for the on the house dessert.
Overall very good. Staff super friendly & attentive, food as expected. We miss the white table clothes!! And it’s too brightly lite for the evening, otherwise, all good
Friendly staff and authentic food. Their dim sum is the best
The food was quality and delicious. The upstairs was quiet and clean. Service was professional and efficient. I enjoyed my century egg and lean pork congee, beef and vegetable ho fun and aromatic crispy duck very much. Thank you!!
The lady in charge took our order incorrectly. When she attended to us, she didn’t seem interested at all. We ordered fish soup but were served pork soup instead. We waited for over half an hour. After following up several times with another waiter, we were finally informed that the fish soup was not available, so we had to replace it with beef soup — which was tasteless. Our order for chicken and salted fish clay pot never arrived, and only after repeated follow-ups did a young waiter come and ask us again what we had ordered. Very disappointing service overall. They seemed to be short-staffed. We don’t think we’ll be coming back again.
Dim Sum was authentic and amazing! Good environment and staff
Food was really nice. Great dim sum and good service
Lovely staff and awesome dim sum. My favourite in London.
Frequent customer to this restaurant as the service and food are good. Only Dim Sum restaurant ( in China Town )as far as I am aware where one can made a reservation instead of queuing outside a dim sum restaurant for a table. That’s a massive time saver.
Staff polite and service good Dim sum wasn't piping hot
Our favourite restaurant for Dim Sum, but unfortunately they don’t have belly roast pork which we loved. Abit disappointed.
Head waiter was very accommodating and helpful. Was celebrating our niece birthday and he didn’t mind us bringing a birthday cake. Food as usual was very good and served promptly.
The floor manager was most helpful. This is our regular restaurant for Dim Sum. Food is very good with generous portions. We chose this restaurant as they take reservations. No need for queuing which is a major plus in China Town.
We were welcomed and immediately walked to our table. The "tick your choices" self ordering system is effective and makes the process seamless. We ordered hot tea, arrived super quickly. Service was fast and professional. Food met the expectations, the fried duck rolls are fantastic, definitely recommended. Will come again in the future.
Absolutely amazing food and lovely staff. Thank you for a great meal!
Great food, attentive service and a pleasant dining room made this a lovely dining experience
