About Khana Peena

Birmingham is flush with Indian restaurants and balti houses, but restaurants that cater specifically to Bengali cuisine are less common. Straddling Bangladesh and India’s West Bengal, the food from this region emphasises seafood and lentils alongside vegetables and rice, subtle spiciness, and delectable desserts. All of these are on offer at Birmingham’s Khana Peena, where the traditional Bengali multiple-course meal structure is also honoured. This all lends Khana Peena, down Stratford Road in Hall Green, an unrivalled authenticity.

More about Khana Peena, Birmingham

Khana Peena’s signature dishes are mouthwatering examples of traditional Bengali cuisine given a contemporary twist for Birmingham’s notoriously discerning fans of Indian and Asian subcontinental cuisine. Sylheti jinga chillies, nawabi murgh, fiery tandoori platters, lamb korai, spiced vegetable platters, and the house balti are all firm favourites at this Indian restaurant down Stratford Road in Hall Green. Khana Peena’s fusion dishes submit tender cuts of lamb to the honey-roasted treatment, while Bengali traditions are upheld by the incredible selection of chef’s recommendations, catch of the day seafood, karai and jalfrezi dishes.

While Khana Peena’s fine Bengali cuisine can be ordered to takeaway (and they offer a hefty discount for pick-up orders), dining in at this Birmingham Indian restaurant is a real treat. Khana Peena’s premises down Stratford Road in Hall Green are opulent and modern. Good food. Although when the managers not there the customer service falls down. Disappointed as we had taken friends with us & said How great this place was!!! They failed to see why!
