La Caverna brings the best from the Italian tradition of hospitality to the streets of Sheldon in Birmingham. They offer both bed and board, and we’re going to focus on the board options, as this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Birmingham. Their location is perfect for travellers, situated directly by the National Exhibition Centre and Birmingham Airport, and when those travellers arrive, they follow the locals to La Caverna. The menu features Italian classics at every level: oysters and mussels to start, alongside beef carpaccio and panzerotti, followed by pasta dishes like carbonara, tortellini, arrabiata or risotto, fish fresh from the market, steaks and veal and vegetarian options. Book a table at La Caverna and drive out to Coventry Road (or take the train to Olton or Acocks Green) for one of the best Italian restaurants in Birmingham.
have been to better places and I've been to worst, service was ok whilst was alright. Would i go back again........Don't think so
We use La Caverna regularly and have never had a bad experience until last night; poor level of service and poor standard of food. My main course was served on a plate so hot that the waitress had to pick up a second cloth; she was more bothered about burning herself and almost dropped the plate on me in the process. My cannelloni was cold in the middle despite this. My dessert if profiteroles was stale. I did something I would never do and sent it back only to be told the Kitchen said it’s fine! No alternative offered or empathy. I asked for a glass of prosecco to be told they didn’t have any; an Italian restaurant with no prosecco on a Saturday night???? I refused to pay for my food - the waitress who took our payment was understanding and offered an apology. Won’t be rushing back.
The service was poor, didnt get our wine until after starters were served and wasn't worth waiting for as it was disgusting and was okay
