We glad we found this restaurant as we both love meat and wine. Meat from Italy. Staffs are friendly. Good meat and good wine. Kids friendly.
Was very nice and friendly to be at Macellaio but mostly food it’s amazing a bit pricing, but hey good things the cost a bit more isn’t?
Delicious food - lovely and helpful staff! Pasta and the raw meet is the best thing on the menu. Lovely and decent priced Sangiovese red wine.
Very good meat and service - the possibility to order a sauce as a side order would make it perfect And Vere good value for money😉
Excellent service and top tier atmosphere offering a unique experience. The selection of wines on offer was also very nice to see with the staff having good knowledge of the different types of wines and meat on offer.
Excellent experience. The service is outstanding, and even if it wasn’t you’d have a fantastic time as the food & wine speaks for itself! Impressive.
Great night out, a meat eaters paradise. Staff are well informed and offered great advice and information on each dish. Worth another visit and will recommend it to friends.
Wonderful service, wonderful food! Our carpaccio was beautifully soft; our steaks were cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and attentive without being over the top (apart from stabbing our steak knives in to the table, but that was clearly just a gimmick). Will definitely return!
This was our second visit to this small restaurant chain. Four of virtually repeated the choices made during the last visit. Starters and desserts were every bit as good. Unfortunately the star of the show, 1.4 kilos of Florentina steak shared between us was rather tasteless as compared to our previous offering. This was surprising considering it is their signature dish. Service was very good as was the choice of wines.
Just Amazing! The meat as always is always so special! I tried this time the trippa, I was so scary to try but honestly was so good
Amazing dinner tonight! The manager was very helpful and kind, we tasted the best Fiorentina in London and amazing Gorgonzola Tartare! Selection of desserts was incredible. We’ll definitely come back soon! Around 40£pp with starter, Fiorentina and dessert plus 2 cups of wine. Sooooo good!
It has a lovely atmosphere, and is a bit different. The meat was amazing, and apparently so was the pasta. Overall a very enjoyable venue for a night out.
Situated at the end of the Northcote Road it is nonetheless advisable to book , as usually Thursday onwards it is very busy. Friendly staff Execellent T-bone steak for 2
good restaurant and food top quality. very very very good experience
Went for a Saturday lunch- really welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and the food was great! We both ordered steak and it was cooked beautifully. The quality was up there with much more pretentious/expensive restaurants.
Felt like being back in Tuscany. Great food but service could be better given the price. All in all a great experience and will return
Simply amazing food and excellent hosts, fantastic wine and a great location. It being our last dinner in London after 25 years, it had to be good, this exceeded expectations.
Felt like we were in Florence. Great steak. I had rabbit stew. Service was friendly and attentive without being over attentive.
Really cool young waiter. Meat courses are fine but pasta is really not up to a good standard. Would return for meat and wine course only.
Small portion of meat which left us feeling it was expensive for what it was. Wine was delicious though and side dishes were good. Waitress very friendly and helpful.
good and excellent service of some extremely genuine delicious Italian food The place for superb meat a must for the south London" bon vivants" set
Very welcoming staff, interesting menu, didn't quite pull off the promise of either the meat or the pasta. Very good wine list. For the lack of the theatre of having an on-site butcher, you could have a better meal elsewhere.
Delicious food, with interesting accompaniments to the steaks, the waiter was very knowledgeable and the service was excellent. The Battuta I had to start was wonderful, and the rump steak w/ gorgonzola and walnuts was exquisite. The tiramisu was very nice as well.
Strange music which created a bizarre atmosphere for an upmarket restaurant. Too cold near the air conditioning. Small portions despite the food being nice. On site butchery a nice touch.
Lovely size of restaurant, fantastic service and some of the best steak I've had recently in London. Great selection of wines as well to compliment the steak.
Nice location, setting and service. But definitely overpriced for what they actually offer. The elephant's ear was mediocre and looked like a standard schnitzel (£35). The rumpsteak was very tiny (£16).
Simply delicious We had the Tbone - it was mouth watering. The waiter was really helpful in choosing the right cut. Tiramisu for desert - absolutely yummy... Loved it
Excellent food and service! We loved everything we ordered. Fantastic menu and the meat quality was exceptional. Service was attentive and friendly. Great interiors too.
Lovely food. Great drinks, great staff. Very happy. Tradional Italian Experiance, Finished off with a shot or two of Grappa. Very good. Highly recommend. Thumbs up.
Fine overall but much less impressive than the last time we visited. Starter and chips nice but nothing special. Steak very tasty but very fatty and bony so very poor value as the price was based on weight. Service fine but overall not worth the premium price.
Had a celebratory dinner with my family of 5. Was welcomed by the friendly staff who explained what size of the Fassona rib eye we should order. Great food and service, will happily go again.
Nice restaurant and very good quality meat. The service was excellent service! The air-conditioning was too strong which was a little bit disappointing. Otherwise good experience. Thanks.
I've been to this restaurant a number of times but this trip was not a good one. Food was fine but service was shockingly slow. We waited 25 minutes to order, when our wine hadn't arrived after a further 15 minutes we asked the waiter who said they were out of the bottle we had ordered. Obviously that happens but I'm not sure they would have told us if we hadn't asked. Waiter then seemed surprised that we might want to order something else. Disappointing
Great service and great steak. Laid back and casual. Great for couples or groups. We were running late and they still managed to get us out requested table. Will definitely return.
Food was cold. Steak was chewy, tiny portions (which are normally fine but as long as packed with flavour). Mashed potato was creamy but had lumps. Lovely setting but just very disappointing as we were looking forward to going for a long time.
As always great time here. Had lots of cured meats to share with stracciatella and burrata which was delicious. We chose the tartare with the Gorgonzola which I would recommend. The pasta and cooked meats were extremely good and well cooked! Thanks
So delicious and the wine was incredible! So lovely to have such a wonderful local place to eat with super tasty produce. Definitely try the apple cake for desert too!
Great experience. Food is excellent, the quality of the meat is as good as it gets. You can also judge the quality of the restaurant from the attention to detail, from the amazing oil on the table to the prestarter of focaccia and salame
The first time we have enjoyed delicious florentina steak since our holiday in Florence 4 years ago! Fantastic food, fabulous wine, great service. Thoroughly recommended
The hard sell on the rib of beef got annoying - a cut that only seems to exist in 800gram portions - especially after we had chosen our main. The waitress should have alerted us to the rib when we sat down. Equally the apple cake pudding took so long to arrive that we cancelled it...again if the waitress had told us of the length of time it took for that dessert ...on the whole the food was good but not sure if we will go back.
It's really expensive, for what you get. We were charged £58 for a carafe of wine for example. We shared a t-bone steak for 4, and it was undercooked, they dry age the beef which is great but it means that they should trim the edges where it's been exposed to the air for 10 weeks or whatever - but they didn't. The quality of their meat is fab but the quality of their butchery doesn't match. I didn't have a bad time there but for the money I think there are way better places to eat steak.
If you're a beef eater you're in for a treat!! Lovely beef from the Lombardy plains and excellent added on bits. So I hope it does well.
Fantastic Menu, venue, and service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those who want to try different cuts or offal. I ordered testicles and rabbit.
As always great service, superb food and absolutely amazing experience altogether. Valeria made sure that our night was perfect and assisted us with full attention and knowing, professional approach
As always excellent for lunch. Good atmosphere and wonderful service. The meat is incredible, as are the selection of wines. Highly recommended and well worth a visit.
Another great meal High quality steak, beautifully cooked, gorgeous beans cooked with sage, and a superb wine list. I can see this place becoming a regular haunt.
The service was excellent but the rib of beef we ordered was terrible, we sent it back and a second rib was served that was better but nowhere near as good as in the Old Brompton road branch.
Fine quality ingredients, an excellent choice of wines and friendly, attentive service all made for a very good night out. A great addition to my local area - I’ll definitely be back.
Great restaurant and a lovely place to celebrate mother’s dad. Superb beef. We shared a rib of beef and the kids had fillet steak and the baby chicken. Will definitely be back.
