Bienvenue and welcome to Market Kitchen, a French restaurant in Ashton-in-Makerfield that is making more than a little of a name for itself. Their menu du jour is ever-changing and what we list below is but a sampler – understandably for a restaurant called Market Kitchen, they go to the market, buy what they find freshest and most appealing and then take it to the kitchen, cook it up howsoever they see fit and serve it to you at your table. Thusly, the plat du jour is always the option, ensuring that only the most seasonal, most organic and freshest ingredients are used. You can find them at Numero Un, Rue de Warrington – OK, Warrington Road, as this still Ashton after all – and when you go, you can feel like you’ve moved from Wigan to their more illustrious twin town of Angers. Indeed, amid all the seasonal veg and ingredients, when we last checked there was still a pie on the menu. After all, what else would Wiganers put on a stick and call a kebab? Book a table now.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal again here at Market Kitchen. The ambience, staff and service all make for a fabulous evening. The food is sensational and presented impeccably. We will return!
First time visit very impressed I am sure we will return.
Great food great customer service loved it. First visit this year and will not be the last. The cordon bleu chicken was the best I have tasted.
