Their menu du jour is ever-changing and what we list below is but a sampler – understandably for a restaurant called Market Kitchen, they go to the market, buy what they find freshest and most appealing and then take it to the kitchen, cook it up howsoever they see fit and serve it to you at your table. Thusly, the plat du jour is always the option, ensuring that only the most seasonal, most organic and freshest ingredients are used. You can find them at Numero Un, Rue de Warrington – OK, Warrington Road, as this still Ashton after all – and when you go, you can feel like you’ve moved from Wigan to their more illustrious twin town of Angers.
