Masala Kraft - Fishergate

Perhaps the best Indian food I have eaten. Some wonderful fusion meals on an excellent menu. Attentive but not overbearing service and a very reasonable price. Strongly recommended.

Very nice food. Authentic curries, friendly staff, reasonable prices and nice environment. Would visit again next time I am in York. Also close to centre.

OK. Curious menu. No breast of chicken for tikka. All very hot spicy. Not much to distinguish one sauce from another. Service? A little cool.

The staff were friendly,informative and helpful.We had a wonderful meal .It was not the usual kind of Indian food we are used to.Definitely more authentic .We had a wonderful time.

Great staff. Couldn't do enough to help without being overbearing. Lovely food, just the right portion size. The restaurant was nicely decorated and had a cosy feel. Ideal, just round the corner from the York Barbican.

Fabulous food cooked to your liking, the manager couldn't be more helpful. All fresh ingredients, really a good experience all round . Small and intimate booking at weekends would be best. We went on a Monday so it was quiet.

Excellent as ever, food and service top notch and now comes with a brew York IPA which matches the curry superbly! We have never been disappointed by a meal at Masala Kraft on Fishergate.

The menu was very basic with not much choice, there were no specials and although there was the choice of garlic or cheese naan on the menu the chef was unable to do a garlic & cheese naan!! However the serving staff were very attentive and on the whole good value for money.

Really good food and friend service throughout. Would recommend. They have recently changed location but it seems all the good aspects have stayed the same

Great decor and music, great friendly and efficient service, great tasty and original food. I highly recommend for any occasion with work, friends or family.

The food and service were excellent. However, Quandoo were not so good as the restaurant had not received notification of our booking, thankfully they were not so busy so could accommodate us.

Excellent food and great service would highly recommend. Definately worth the bit extra walk out of the city centre and overall a great find. One of Yorks best Indian restaurants.

Lovely decor, attentive service and fresh and interesting menu. Good choice of vegetarian dishes, nothing too much trouble to explain. Don't confuse this Fishergate location with the other restaurant, this is the one to head for. Drinks a little pricey £6.50 for a large Cobra but food was good value.

Another fabulous meal at Masala Craft. Excellent traditional Indian food, full of flavour, served with a smile. We have never been disappointed at our favourite Indian restaurant in York.

The food here was really wonderful and the service was good as well. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. My only negative would be the portion sizes were a bit small for a hungry man, but nothing an extra naan couldn't fix.

We arrived to be told we were at the wrong restaurant even though I had confirmation letter/email. food was good, service was slow and strained.

Flat beer, no bottles of Cobra, Popadoms out of a bag, no onion salad,nan bread totally undercooked, but Chicken Tika ok-- would have been a red rating otherwise!

We have visited Masala Craft at fishergate for hens do. We were greated by the waiter but although it was not busy we could not choose where we would like to sit.which was a bit negative. We have definately enjoyed a beautiful dekor. The place definately has a nice atmosphere. The food was tasty, although the portions seemed a bit small. Overall, it was a nice experience. Keep up the good work

This is a lovely venue (Fishergate) with a view of the city walls. Unusual and tasty food, friendly and attentive service, would come here again.

Well despite being the first customers of the evening, the wait for food was rather long. The food itself was plentiful but, unfortunately very bland.

After a slow start which was fully explained, an excellent meal enjoyed by all including the kids, nice people, highly recommended. Everything fresh and cooked to order, will be back.

Authentic Indian taste, surely one of the few in York. Desserts on the menu are not always available, but are delicious. Staff is friendly too.

We were very disappointed - Firstly we were advised that our booking had been cancelled, then were reluctantly shown to a table. The manager? - did not really make us welcome but took our drinks order. At the same time we asked for poppadoms which did not appear and a waiter came to take our order and we told him - subsequently they arrived! (Half an hour late..) Quite a few items on the menu were not being served and when the food arrived, some were good and others poor (Oh and we have to go to the kitchen ourselves to get hot plates). Overall, definately not somewhere we would recommend until things improve drastically - It was a shame as we had been looking forward to the evening

Food was good and staff were friendly and helpful ... experience was good , until i found a 12inch black hair in my ice cream!!!

The food was amazing and much different and more interesting than most Indian restaurants. Highly recommended. If you are looking for a curry in York, go here, you won't be disappointed!

Booking moved to other restaurant, waited quite a while for poppadoms and pickle. Our main course arrived when we only started our poppadoms. Food was quite good and staff did apologise for the wait.

Great food and service. Varied menu with genuine Indian dishes. Ideal for a pre-theatre dinner in a delightfully decorated and furnished restaurant. Will certainly go again.

Best Indian meal we have eaten in the UK. Thoroughly recommended. Great use of spices and regional dishes. We will certainly be back for another round

The staff were lovely and accommodated for us very well, the food was absolutely fantastic best indian i have had by far. Would highly recommend
