Mason Belles Kitchen - Linlithgow

Nice restaurant, pity about the chef. This was a lovely restaurant, nice views of the garden, stylish decor. The service was excellent, with friendly, attentive and efficient staff. The only weak point was the actual food. Started with onion and parmesan soup, not much trace of the parmesan, but then it was not possible to taste very much through the over-salting of the dish. Main course was mushroom and halloumi flatbread, with two or three small pieces of halloumi just discernible in the oily morass of mushrooms and soggy bread. The chef here needs to learn that his role is to bring out the flavours in the food that he cooks, not overpower them with too much oil or salt.

Lovely place, decent value, food was quite good, service strange. we went for brunch and were offered a drink order immediately, but it was about 20 minutes before our food order was taken despite our being the only customers. A couple arrived who were given their menus just as our food order was taken but their food arrived before ours. Not sure what that was about. Maybe the staff are just out of practice? Having said that the serving staff were all very pleasant and obliging. No atmosphere whatsoever, although I suppose in the current restrictive climate everyone is too busy trying to abide by the rules. Overall it was fair to middling but I wouldn't rush back, and that's what I'd tell anyone who asked for a recommendation in Linlithgow.

The new decor was lovely and gave it a fresh feel. The food choice was excellent and they catered for food intolerances well. The food was tasty and fresh but sometimes not quite what we expected. Gnocchi stated Wild garlic pesto but it seemed to be sun dried tomato and brocoli. The toffee date slice was expected to be warm but it was cold. However both were very tasty and we will be going back.

As always a delicious meal and lovely staff . I have no problem recommending Mason Belles .

We were sat in the back room near the kitchen, it was dimly lit and gloomy. The table was chest high as the chairs were very low, but they were comfortable. We asked to change table and our request was facilitated. The food was very good and the service was the same. The conversation was punctuated however by the staff banging and crashing loudly at the coffee machine when making the brews, too loud If you want a relaxing lunch. A mostly positive experience I would go again.

Absolutely fantastic day yesterday. Had afternoon tea and it was so different and everyone tasted amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn’t do any more for you. Felt very safe with all the COVID regulations in place. Thanks team for a wonderful day. I’m already booked back in for next week!

We took our daughter out for a birthday lunch and wasn’t disappointed the food was delicious and well presented and the choice was very good as well we will be back .

We were married at Mason Belles in 2019 and returned for our first anniversary. The staff made the night very special for us and the food as usual was wonderful cant wait to go back again. It is our go to place for special occasions.
