Good choice of menu and the portion sizes are generous

Service was great, large portions but skinny fries were undercooked.

Food was fine but with the exception of one waitress the service was abysmal. 2 of us asked for another fork after the original had been taken with the starter plates- still waiting for them, had to get them ourselves. Another one of our party only got her naan bread when she had finished her meal. All that would've been mildly annoying but we waited 20 mins to get our bill but gave up and went to the bar where we waited by the till (which was being manned by staff) for another 15 mins. In that time we were told by a member of staff that we were the 3rd group that had difficulty getting the bill. To be fair, when I asked for the 3rd time for the pints we had ordered, the manager didn't charge us for them. Unfortunately, the experience as a whole was awful which is a shame on a weekend when they had the opportunity to showcase themselves as a great dining venue. I won't be back nor can I recommend to others.

Even thought the New York Inn was extremely busy due to the north west 200, the service was prompt, staff very friendly and food delicious and served hot! Will definitely be back.

Pricing designed to confuse, wouldn't let us order off the early bird menu. Website has one offer but then they don't recognize it when asking the waiter about it. Food ok but service could have been more friendly.

As on previous occasions we enjoyed our meal!! When it came to ordering a sweet the young person got it wrong and one was left out!! Unfortunately the rest of us were finished before the final desert appeared!!

No special meal deal available despite being in the menu and advertised outside. Salted chilli chicken was way too spicy. Chicken fillet burger was bland and no sauce came with it.

Menu was extensive and had a good offer but the quality of the food was not up to scratch compared to the many nearby restaurants. The service was also stretched beyond coping and maintaining good standards. Won’t be returning or recommending

As a vegetarian there are very few options. My Mother wanted the carvery, but at 90 couldn’t manage a starter or sweet., she just wanted the carvery. I didn’t have a starter or sweet either and ended up getting a plate of vegetables. It was very costly when it turns out to be £17 + for a plate of veg and £17+ for a small plate of food from the carvery, no concession was allowed. I know this is a set menu, but how can you tell a 90 year old she can’t have the carvery. I wouldn’t go back to The York. Staff were lovely, helpful and attentive..

Food was overall very nice, however, the customer service in this occasion really let the place down. Not overly busy, yet there were still long waits for our meals and customers who had ordered a good 10 minutes after us received their meals a good bit before us. Waiter taking orders to the wrong table etc. I have eaten in here in the past and thought it was excellent! Hoping this was a one off but not sure how likely I would be to return.

I had a beautiful birthday dinner with my friends who had never been to The New York Inn before but said they’d definitely be coming back. I myself have been many times and loved the food but last night even with the hazardous conditions I’d have to say it was almost 100 times better. The food and drinks were all served in a flash and the portion sizes were perfect. All in all I’d recommend this to everyone cause I loved I’ll keep coming back.

My family and I , a total of 5 adults has an early dinner in the New York on the Sunday before Christmas. I had booked a table using their web based booking system and was seated immediately on arrival. I was a little surprised to see that the restaurant was fairly quiet but who knows! My family can be quite difficult to feed in restaurants. We include complete carnivores, semi vegetarians and at least one diabetic. The York was more than able to match our varied demands. The server was excellent,attentive and knowledgeable. The food arrived promptly and was of a high and consistent standard. Prices are in line with those in the general area

Excellent food. Menu a bit confusing as to what constituted the £5 deal as advertised. Choice limited with this offer. Side orders not included so they were an added extra straight away. Would not put me off dining here again but advert could be misleading. Better to advertise as per the full cost of the meal with side's included

Lovely views across the sea. Very good value menu. We enjoyed our lunch at the New York Inn and will return.
