Ngon is the Vietnamese word for delicious, and Ngon Ngon, on Clerkenwell Road, is so good they named it twice. Here you can find specialities from South East Asia such as pho, the iconic noodle soup that is widely considered the national dish of Vietnam, and bahn mi, a sandwich based on the French baguette but infused with aromatic herbs and spices such as coriander and chilli. In the London district of Clerkenwell, Ngon Ngon offers an insight into the flavours of Saigon and beyond.
Vietnamese food is growing and growing in prominence on the foodie scene in London, and at Ngon Ngon in Clerkenwell, diners can truly get an experience of the food of Southeast Asia. From their location on Clerkenwell Road, they present a menu that takes in street food, noodle soups, summer rolls and more. From banh mi to pho and beyond, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Ngon Ngon.
Ngon Ngon is about more than just the food as well. While this Vietnamese joint on Clerkenwell Road is perfect for a filling meal, they also have a range of drinks that reflect the tastes of its homeland. Traditional Vietnamese coffee – a remnant of French colonial times – is available in both warm and iced versions, as well as countless East Asian teas and fresh juices and smoothies. Head on down to Ngon Ngon in London’s Clerkenwell to find out what the fuss is about: but make sure you book a table ahead of time, as it can get busy.
There is only one word from Ngon Ngon..wonderful! Exceptional Vietnamese food in a charming ambience. Two friends introduced me to the restaurant a year ago; on Sunday I hosted lunch for three friends and they were completely blown away by the quality of the cooking: mango sea bass beautifully prepared with a divine crispy skin was perhaps the highlight of a terrific meal. Can't wait to return.
Lovely food and service, the spring rolls were crispy, the pancakes were flavoursome and the spicey beef noodle soup was warming and packed full of tasty aroma. Highly recommend
There is a really nice vibe during lunchtime - the restaurant is really cute. The food was really good and the staff were super friendly! I would definitely go back again.
Lovely restaurant - especially if you can get a table upstairs. Food really is excellent and the service is fast and polite! Best of all, the prices are amazing!
I booked a table here for lunch with my father, mother and sister. It was their first time having Vietnamese food and I know Ngon Ngon was the best place to introduce them! I have been a couple of times before. The food was, as usual, fresh and delicious. All the dishes we ordered were just fantastic and the iced coffee is the best! The host Alan was delightful, he really is the best host of any restaurant I have been to! He makes the atmosphere of the place warm and welcoming for everyone. Prise wise, it is a really good deal! I will be going back again soon for sure!
Really friendly and welcoming staff, every member of our party was greeted individually and thanked for making a booking. We had great service, with a run down of the most popular dishes, and good banter too. The food was so tasty, that my mouth is watering, just thinking about it now. The goat salad was perfect, and the spring rolls had great flavours. My main was the sizzling goat with onion, and I absolutely loved it. I definitely recommend Ngon Ngon
This buzzing little gem is frequented by the lunch time crowds of local offices and rightly so! After easily booking a table online for an internal meeting on a thursday lunchtime, we arrived to our table and were greeted by a wonderful member of staff that was genuinely happy to serve us. He was polite, charming and made some great recommendations. The food was delicious and served in good time. It was great value for money and there were plenty of vegetarian options. I will definitely be going again!
Ngon Ngon is really good vietnamnese food. Ive had my fair share of vietnamnese food in London, Hong Kong, and Vietnam - so I can happily say that this comes very close!
delicious food, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Classic summer rolls and pho are excellent, but be sure to try things not so common in other vietnamese restaurants: goat (either cold salad or sizzling main) salt and pepper sea bass, ha noi (monk)fish... We will definitely be back, because there are still heaps of things on the menu that i want to try
We had a great dining experience on a Saturday evening with tasty food and a great level of service from the friendly staff. There were some other parties in at the same time as us, but they weren't intrusive despite the small size of the room. Background music was perhaps a tad on the loud side, and wasn't really needed at all because there was enough natural atmosphere without it. Otherwise thoroughly recommended.
