Food always great, you can choose tapas or bigger meals. Freshly cooked, plenty to choose from.

Our meal at No.1 Cockleshed Old Leigh was really good and we very much liked the Winter set menu we had for lunch. Restaurant location is near the sea and the interior space is very nice with comfortable seating.

Warm welcome on a rainy February day. Great menu we opt for tapas 10 plates in total (5 plates per course) for the 4 of us and 2x bread and 2x salads, the mussels, sardines, squid, cockle n crab croquette's, white bait were all absolutely delicious. All served on Warm plates and fresh cutlery each course. Really Good service. Nice music in the restaurant and nice ambiance. Definitely would recommend and we will definitely return.

The restaurant was not busy but there were a couple of other tables. A girl and man waiting tables. The man was very pleasant. The girl however was very surly with no interaction with us. We were passing plates and thanking her but with no response. Everyone at the table commented on her attitude maybe she was having a bad evening. Food was okay. Wine was lovely and good choice.

We had the lunchtime set menu and everyone was happy with their choices . It was reasonably priced and had a nice vibe inside.

Lovely restaurant. Food is amazing! One thing to add if there was chicken wings,ribs or sliders it would be the best ever. I’m a fish lover but my partner did miss the meaty tapas options. (Perhaps even chorizo could be a good addition) Although the pulled pork was 10/10. Will 100% be returning.

Lovely food & really lovely staff, will definitely go again

A very enjoyable experience. Our first visit to No; 1 The Cockle Sheds. We had the skate and it was absolutely first class. The rest of the meal was just as excellent. If we had to make one negative comment it would be for the Avocado and Prawn starter.....which could have done with a little less lettuce and more avocado. All in all we enjoyed our lunch and will look forward to visiting again. Thank you.

Sunday/Christmas roast lunch was lovely, Turkey and trimmings and nut roast was amazing. I don’t normally like Christmas pudding but this one was gorgeous.

Service was very good, the mains portions were plentiful and tasty. Value for money. My only criticism was the prawn cocktail was bland and a bit overpriced.

Lovely food great menu choice. Son said best pasta dish he had for ages. Fish pie so tasty. Can’t wait to go back in summer and have tapas.

First time we have eaten at No 1 The Cocklesheds, and we will definitely be back. The service was great, very attentive and friendly - the guy at the bar remembered my friend prefers her G&T in a tall glass, without being prompted! Excellent attention to detail. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, the Belly Pork just melted, and had an excellent, tasty crackling.
