This is one of my favourite restaurants. The place is cosy and quirky, staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is amazing just wish it was closer

The food was outstanding,service first class you could not ask for anything better. The hole ambience was perfect, we would highly recommend the restaurant it’s a must.

This is a places visit regularly. Once again the good was wonderful, served by Andrew who was fantastic. You rleally cannot beat thus place for food and ambiance.

Delicious food, good size portions, friendly service, would highly recommend it, and will certainly be returning. Great value for lunch, cosy atmosphere. The tasting desserts were yummy.

What's not to like? Extensive menu, also very good for vegetarians too. Great food, great service, very good selection of drinks and a lovely ambiance! The overall balance is just right.

It is very easy to book on line, we Have been several times and on each occasion the food has been excellent, the service is excellent and the all round experience is wonderful

Food as usual very good. Service a little slow, as they were very busy. Decided not to have a dessert, as we didn't have time for one today.

Still our favourite place to eat, we’ve never been disappointed. Really enjoyed meeting up with friends on the Sunday before Christmas, we’ll be back again soon.

Family of 6 visited 23/12/18. The food was first class, and it is obvious great emphasis is placed on detail and "quality control". Service was good. In my opinion, the locally sourced Ice Cream was fairly ordinary. There are better alternatives in the area. One small criticism of the venue - the flush's push button was missing in the gents, and there was just a plastic rod sticking out. Other than that, a great place to eat. My family and I will definitely be going back.

Another, excellent experience The Menu choice was interesting and so difficult to make a decision as all the dishes were enticing. The quality of food was stunning- again!! The service was friendly and efficient

The food at On The Hill is always too class. The hardest part is picking what to eat because everything sounds, and is, so amazing.

Excellent menu, lovely choices with variety in many of the dishes. The key word here is "flavours". The only down-side is the lack of welsh ales.

Excellent as usual. Excellent service, food and atmosphere. It was very busy but we still got our food without a long wait. One dish was wrong and was put right without a fuss. Highly recommended.

Great meal and service. Some small changes could have given them an excellent score. For example the tortillas which accompanied the humous were too flavoured.

Excellent menu and food. Friendly staff and cosy setting. Very reasonable prices. Only quibble was when I requested a glass of dry white wine, I got the most expensive on the list ( should have said “house wine”)!

My wife and I just love eating at On the Hill in Ruthin. The food never fails to please and my wife, who can be extremely critical and fussy when it comes to dining out, has all ways come away from there very satisfied. You are always assured a warm welcome by the very efficient and friendly staff. It is a little gem in the Welsh country side.

Food was outstanding, we has 3 mini starters which were delicious then the steak roassini and the seafood kebab, out of this world and the puddings wow - would highly recomment this establishment

Pleasant surroundings. Warm welcome and attentive staff. Varied menu which provided for all tastes. Every element of the meal was cooked to perfection. A must visit again restaurant.

From the minute we walked in the door to the moment we left pure joy. An interesting menu from which it is difficult to choose your meal but fortunately the excellent and knowledgable staff are on hand to assist. We enjoyed every mouthful rounded off with an excellent take on Christmas pudding. We traveled 30 miles to eat here and spent virtually every minute of the return journey talking about how much we enjoyed our evening.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good choice of food and drink. Unfortunately driving, so couldn’t have a glass of wine, but excellent food well presented made up for that. Very good value for money.

A beautiful meal, great atmosphere, fantastic service, all just perfect. The food, as always, was absolutely delicious, and so much that I had to give part of it to my friend to finish. No room for a starter or a pudding although the desserts had a choice of a normal portion or a small taster.

As always lovely food and staff, the beef was to die for. We try to go about four or more times a year, it would be even more often if it wasn't nearly an hour from home. We are never disappointed when we go to, "On the Hill".

food was amazing as always, service was attentive yet not intrusive . On the hill is our favourite restaurant, we always look forwarded to the varied menu always updated and food is always "wonderful"
