Very good friendly service.. Good good food . Pleasant environment.

The restaurant was very quiet but the service and food was up to their usual very high standards. We particularly liked our chats with our Romanian born waitress - about languages, history etc.

ate from the a la carts menu. Very good choice of dishes, the haddock fish cake is delicious. The entire meal was excellent, the staff are very friendly.

Pleasant surroundings and food. Attentive service. Restaurant was v quiet, probably not surprising on a Tuesday lunchtime. On the whole felt the menu was overpriced for the quality, and surprised each portion of vegetables cost another £4 each.

It was our first visit to Opus and we weren't disappointed... we had a drink in the bar first followed by a lovely 3 course meal which included mouthwatering smoked salmon starters, delicious duck and rib eye steak mains and desserts of creme brulee and lemon and white chocolate tart with raspberry sorbet ... all served by lovely staff. Would definitely recommend it.

We as a group of eight ladies out on a night out just for the fun of it decided to revisit opus. You did us proud from the minute we walked through the doors, absolute perfect immaculate service. Wonderful food for all of us. You were all absolute stars. Thank you for making our night so special.

We have been to the restaurant on several occasions, on arrival we were met with a warm friendly greeting, shown to out table where drinks orders taken. Orders for our meals taken quickly, with first course arriving very quick, choice of starter for each person commented how tasty they were. Main course and sweet arrived and again was excellent, service from all the staff was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend the restaurant to anyone. We have already booked for later in the month.

I'd heard about this restaurant from one or two friends but I confess I was disappointed. The exterior is under scaffolding, which didn't help the ambiance but nor did the interior, which we found sparse and unwelcoming. The food was satisfactory but not exceptional. High on presentation but lacking in taste and succulence. On balance, over-priced and uninspiring.

Great experience. First time at Opus and will be going again very soon. It was my birthday and shared it with three of my closest friends. We all agreed it was great food and excellent service.

Beautifully presented food. Would highly recommend the haddock fish cakes with poached egg and lemon sole, wonderful flavours and expertly crested dishes. Knowledgable, attentive staff. A lovely birthday dessert presented to my husband. A very enjoyable lunch date

Great food, wine, and service with a lovely calm atmosphere. A regular senior manager lunch venue and has never let us down. The fishcakes are great and the chef does not mind that I need my steak burnt to be able to eat it ! This restaurant will stay on my top 4 list of places in Birmingham City Centre to eat at.

Always first class staff excellent I think it’s one of Birmingham best restaurants great value I always feel relaxed and comfortable Fish dishes are always excellent my preferred meal but had the pork Excellent Starter main course lemon sole was beautiful G!!’

Staff were lovely but the vegetarian food was bland and drinks uneventful. The restaurant lacked any kind of atmosphere and I wouldn’t be in a hurry to go back.

Excellent service and delicious food....as always at Opus. My guest and I both enjoyed the fish cake to begin followed by the wild halibut and were delighted with our choice.

Superb lunch as always, excellent quail starter and beautifully cooked plaice and cod mains. Always enjoyable, nice atmosphere and lovely food. We shall return hopefully more often,

First Visit, Food was lovely, service was excellent - really a 5+ they just got my order wrong for dessert and cocktails took a while to come - that said overall experience was fantastic and would recommend this place to anyone will definitely be going back.

Food was excellent. Service was erratic. Enormously long wait to order and between courses. There's a fine line between feeling hurried and abandoned and in our case this drifted towards the latter! Shame because the food was very good and when serving staff did arrive they were attentive. Perhaps they were short staffed and we were just unlucky. Spoilt the experience for me though but then I'm just old and curmudgeonly!

Amazing food, excellent value for money with choice of 2 or 3 courses from dinner menu, 50% off wine sale too was a bonus, very attentive service, 5* all round and will definitely be returning

Enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu, especially the turbot and scallops dish. Service was efficient and cordial. Atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and welcoming. A good choice for our wedding anniversary meal.

Our group of four enjoyed an excellent meal at Opus. We had the tasting menu with matched flight of wines - which we all enjoyed and thought represented good value. All staff were friendly and provided good customer service.

Upon arrival we were greeted friendly, efficient and shown to our table. We were celebrating our Neices 50th birthday. Food, drinks were all enjoyable. Our only criticism was the table for 4 was intimate but too small. We had a lovely evening and will return.

The welcome was very warm as soon as we entered. We sat by the bar with lovely cocktails and chat with the bar staff. The food was delicious and I'd eat here again My only thought was it was quiet for a Friday night which is a shame for a restaurant with lovely food and drinks

First time visiting. Food was amazing and the restaurant staff were very good and helpful. I'm a vegetarian and went off the £25 set meal and every course was delicious, my family went off the Al a Carte and I'm informed the food was equally delicious. Good wine choices and the pairing with the dessert was amazing.

6 of us dined and all had a great experience. Everyone commented on how great the food was and the amazing service. Very reasonably priced.

Very good food but no atmosphere (eerily empty on a Tuesday evening) and staff who seemed sour about something when we arrived and remained stiff and unfriendly all evening.
