Ostlers at Number 1

This was about our 10th visit and the food and service was excellent as always.

Excellent service and superb food - both in look and taste.

Food great, very good value for money, excellent service and wine.

I visited for Sunday lunch with my grandmother, we arrived at 12 noon for our table. we were the only people there. shortly followed by another two couples at 12.30 and 12.45. We overheard that that was all the bookings they had unusually quiet for sure. We ordered two mains, these took a little longer than expected to come out but good food isn't rushed and we had some delicious complimentary home made focaccia bread with balsamic dipping oil. The mains we received did not disappoint. Roast pork with roast potatoes, red cabbage, green beans, broccoli, carrots, a huge Yorkshire pudding, pan gravy (just delicious) apple sauce and more when we asked. the portions are very large but went down a treat. There was no room for pudding despite the delicious looking dessert menu so we opted for 1 liquor coffee. unfortunately this took 15-20 minutes to arrive despite so few diners. this was the only negative comment to make but the coffee was delicious so worth the wait. would highly recommend.

Been to Ostlers many times on a Saturday evening but never Sunday lunch. The service was great, food superb as always.

Amazing food, great service and good value - dined on a Wednesday early evening.

Seemed to be short staffed. Waited nearly 1 hour before even olives arrived! Difficult to reorder drinks. Food was good though when eventually arrived.

The food is wonderful, can not fault it. However the service is very slow. They made a mistake with our bill, having two drinks on there that was for the table behind us. We will go back as we do enjoy the food.

First time back for some years - still a lovely place for a special evening. Staff friendly and attentive. Interesting menu and food was superb. Very quiet the night we were there so lacked atmosphere but not much they could have done about that.

Sunday lunch food was excellent, great quality, large portions. Waiting staff were great. A bit of a wait for food but not too bad (about 30 mins0. Overall, good and great value.

Mothers day Sunday dinner got thier at half 3 left at 5.45 that was a 2 course meal service was slow never waited that long before. Food was nice average really for the price we paid disappointed better Sunday lunch at Neville arms at fraction of the price friendly staff

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the ambiance. The only slight complaint, if any, would be that we were sat right next to the door to the kitchen and so was rather conscious of coats etc on back of chairs but apart from that we all enjoyed our evening and will return again.

The food was excellent. Nice sized portions. I took a doggy bag home admit was too nice to waste.

Despite a shortage of staff due to illness we had a great meal and a good time. but we did arrive early at 6pm. The restaurant was filling up as we left so service later that evening might have been a little slow, great food and good wine.

Sunday Lunch in a relaxed atmosphere with great food and service.

Great food, great environment, a little on the expensive side, but worth it for special occasions. Ideal location for Swan Theater and couples to dine at.

Amazing 4 course meal at Ostlers last night. The staff were polite and attentive and the food was incredible. I asked for a starter that wasn't on the menu and they provided it for me with no hassle. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and I have never eaten a pudding so fast before.....It was delicious!! It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Would higly recommend to anyone for a special evening.

Great atmosphere and lovely food, a very intimate venue with staff who really payed attention to the guests. Would highly recommend to my friends and family in the future.

We had a lovely time at Ostlers. We had an emergency which meant we couldn’t make the scheduled time but they kindly accommodated us later in the evening so that we were still able to go. The service was great and food was very good. We will definitely be returning. The best part for me was that it didn’t get really noisy, we could have a conversation without having to shout at each other!
