Really lovely food, especially the chocolate dessert. The service could be improved. The staff seemed to be on work experience e.g. wrong drinks, bringing a card machine to the table then disappearing when they didn't know how to work it.

Excellent food in a lovely ambience with great service. Can heartily recommend the goats cheese starter and the pork belly main course. Shared a panacotta desert which was lovely too. Good value for money. Highly recommended and

Such a lovely restaurant, one of our favourites. Which is why we travel so far! Was a little busy on the night we went (expected around Christmas) but the customer service was outstanding and the food was delicious. We will be back again!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely meal at The Ostlers. The food was beautiful - I ordered the ribs and found the meat was cooked perfectly and fell off the bone. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and despite there only being one server for the whole evening he was very attentive and accommodating. I would definitely recommend The Ostlers and won't hesitate in going back soon.

Vibrant and welcoming environment, great food (generous portions and very reasonably priced) along with friendly service... couldn’t have asked for a nicer night out. Highly recommended!!

Food good, service attentive but a little slow (not being rushed is ok to be fair). Atmosphere could have been better - very light inside and no background music. Both things would have added to the experience for our party

the two staff were run ragged all evening leaving many customers very dissatisfied including one walk out - the food was very ordinary too whilst being expensive

Best Sunday lunch out ever. This should be on everyone’s list. The lamb and the beef were beautifully pink and with the most perfectly cooked accompaniments every. We will definitely be back.

Great little place. Food delicious, service efficient yet unobtrusive. Lovely ambience. Ideal if you're visiting the Swan Theatre which is a two minute walk away.

Freezing cold, no atmosphere, food good but waited an hour between starter and main. One staff member who was coping as well as he could.

Very very slow service. Half an hour before we were offered a drink or handed a menu. One front of house when restaurant 90% full is unworkable!! Meal fine when we eventually got it!

Lovely meal and plenty of people in midweek. Understaffed, but nice waitress doing her best. Would definitely go back, but would ask for a table away from the door, as the draught was freezing.

Lovely and intimate meal. Very impressed with the service and staff. I was not a fan of the dessert options, however I would still recommend.

2 hour wait for main course pretentious menu, when main course eventually arrived - I ordered one of the 'specials' - it was not what was described on the menu. a disastrous evening out and not cheap not to be recommended.

Quality of meal and wine was very nice. The only down side was that I had ordered a dessert with custard but when it arrived it was just put in front of me accompanied by a scoop of ice cream and told that they did not have any custard and then the server just walked away. It would have been customary to ask if I still wanted the dessert and to be honest I probably would have said no.

Went for pre theatre menu. Arrived at 5.55pm and first course was served 45 minutes later. Rushed main course and left before dessert just in time for theatre. Food ok but dreadful organisation. Really dissatisfied. Tables sticky and needed a clean. Not a good experience.

Lovely food in a nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly but very rushed off their feet when the restaurant was full, which meant the waiter was almost running between the kitchen and tables to keep up. We will be back though!

Lovely Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere. Only down fall about our visit, was my boyfriend had a piece of glass in his drink which was lucky he didn’t swallow. The lady was more than apologetic and refunded one drink off our bill.

The menu was great with selection but not to large . The service as pleasant and quick. The location is easy parking . Next time we will explore the gin menu. Not to sure about the mystery dish element.we will need to be brave enough to order that before an honest review

Arrived at 7.20pm and had to wait until 8.20pm for our starters to appear. We were told that the problem was that our particular choices both took a long time to prepare/cook. This was very surprising since my Wife ordered whitebait and I had opted for the scallops neither of which are noted for their long preparation/cooking times. Later on paying, the full bill, as no gesture was made to reduce the bill to recognise the inconvenience we experienced, we were told that sometimes delays did occur in the kitchen suggesting the problem was not uncommon. In conclusion I did have some concerns upon arrival since the front of house staff were very quick to provide us with the drinks menus but only provided us with the food menu when we requested one. This was compounded shortly afterwards when the waitress could not provide us with the full list of that night's specials as she was unable to read her colleagues writing.

Rather disappointing evening. There was an hour between ordering and food being served. The fish was very over cooked and very dry as was the mash it was served on. £27 for a Barnsley lamb chop is somewhat overpriced.

Had a lovely meal as usual, been using Ostlers for many years now, but I do not think it is valve for money any more, My starter was 1 Mushroom £10 !!! a friend we were with would have liked the prawn started but was not prepared to pay £12. Mains very very good but not a lot on the plate. Sorry Ben

7 years ago I proposed to my wife at Ostlers and i’ve not revisited until last night. On the basis of the superb meal and service I received i’ve decided to keep her so I can revisit next year. Thank you Ostlers for a wonderful evening.

It took ages before we got a menu and the service was generally quite slow. The starter my partner had should have had quails eggs on it but they were just ordinary eggs with no explanation. Also there were a few things on the menu that were not available. It was very noisy.

Terrible service from the waiting staff and disappointing food. The prawns were not King and the Sea Bass was mostly frittata. And they couldn’t make an Irish coffee.
