Great atmosphere, first time we have been on a Saturday however... despite booking a table we had to wait half an hour for it to be available. We were asked to have a drink at the bar but the bar surface was completely covered in dirty drinks glasses. My sirloin was tender but my partner's was chewy. Overall not up to their usual standard.

Pound an Ounce!!! Let’s go straight to the 20oz chunk of a steak that I ordered. Rare. Butchers Jus side sauce with a sharing portion of cauliflower cheese and Parmesan side salad. Yes. Cooked bang on and always to my liking. Parmesan side was huge! Cheese tasted more along a cheddar but was great light bite amongst the hot steak and fries. Customer service is always bang on with all working there being friendly, hard working and willing to assist in every way. Back again next month with the folks

Meal was really nice until with found the elastic band from the asparagus luckily we didn’t eat it. Staff very apologetic and chef

Beef was very tasty, but the trimmings were cold and underwhelming… service was slow and fairly unreceptive to feedback.

Very busy low on staff as the bar was full of dirty glasses ( first impression not good ) steak was good , no scallops for starters left and had to wait for an hour for a drink 🤷‍♀️

When arrived told to go to bar, waited ages at the bar but not served for drinks, then taken to our table and ordered drinks but had to chase twice including going down to the bar myself, finally wine arrived after half an hour but not the ordered water, chased again for the water but it never arrived and gave up. Food wasn’t hot when arrived, lukewarm at best, no one checked in to see if it was ok. Taste of food ok but not worth the price paid.

Turned up a little early and staff were happy to take us to our table, decided to go for the butchers cut (£1/ounce), we were not disappointed, I can honestly say it was probably the tastiest steak I've had so far considering it was only a rump, I would say it was far better than Miller & Carter that we usually go to, the staff were very courteous and the whole experience was outstanding, we look forward to our next visit.

We arrived 10 mins before our booking time and ordered a drink at the bar. We were advised to wait for Harry to seat us. Harry confirmed our arrival and advised we were just waiting for a table. After other diners arrived after us with the same booking time they were then being seated whilst we were left at the bar. I approached Harry and asked how long it would be to be told we would just have to wait for people to leave. When we had finished our drinks we were still left standing at the bar and was 30 mins past our booking time, with no further communication or indication that we were to be seated soon. We advised the bar staff that we were leaving. We were eating there for the first time and very disappointed so unlikey to return. It seems really chaotic.

Had to wait half an hour to be sat down, a couple who came in behind us got sat down first! Other people complained about the same thing and some even walked out the wait was too long. Sat by bar over crowded / too loud and steak was too chewy compared to previous times. Worst experience we’ve had there.

Best steak in town by far. Service, as always, was excellent.

our first time for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed, food was delivered very quickly and perfectly cooked. one minor criticism is that it could have been hotter especially the jus, was luke warm when served and got cold very quickly.

The food was very good but the service ruined the experience entirely. When we arrived we were told to head to the bar. The bar was covered with dirty glasses but they were passing drinks to go over the top somehow. Our table was booked for 7.45, we were stood at the bar waiting to be seated for 15 mins, we still didn’t get served at the bar. When we were seated we were told a server would be right with us. We waited another 10 mins. The drinks took ages to come. Then we waited ages to order of food. Then when we’d finished we had to track someone down to ask for the bill. It was busy, I appreciate that, but with most tables booked if you know it’s busy put enough staff on. To cover sickness, creates standby shifts. We won’t be returning because for £100+ meal we’d go somewhere with good service.

Love going here, but unfortunately my first time the meal wasn’t as good. Lots of salt on chips and steak was very well done. But hopefully a one off.

Lovely atmosphere and service. Have used Ounce for many years and always sang its praises for the best steak. Sadly I think the quality wasn’t great this visit. The taste was amazing but the steak wasn’t as tender as usual and the sides lacked the ooh factor. We didn’t complain as it was still a good meal but Ounce has always been amazing previously and I have always recommended it to everyone. I wouldn’t rush back sadly.
