Steaks as always were lovely but not as tender as usual Took a while for orders to be taken, food was out in half an hour, slightly slower than expected but not dreadful Weren’t asked how food was/ if we wanted anything else Plates not cleared, had to go up to bar to pay as bill not brought to table

We eat at ounce every month and it never lets us down. Unbelievable food and service.

Exceptional service as ever. First time we’ve taken our baby with us and they couldn’t accommodate more. Excellent service and food.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. The price point was great as we went on a Tuesday. We will definitely be returning!

Waiting time to be seated was 20mins passed our booking time -and we could even order a drink as the staff were so busy rushing around. My steak had to be returned as it was over cooked and by the time I was given a replacement the rest of my family had finished their meals and I even had to eat my side. The replacement steak was again overcooked and not much better than the first one but I chose not to complain as we wanted to get on with our evening. I have been to Ounce many times previously and the steak has always been perfectly cooked. The food on this visit was very disappointing

Disappointed with the temperature of the 3 main courses. One of my friends sent it back. I hope you do better when I bring 8 friends on 29th November

Ounce has alwways been hit and miss. The service tonight was pretty atrocious and the food passable (albeit very limited effort was made with presentation - it's not difficult to slice a steak off the bone prior to serving). I think this was the last chance I doubt we'll go again.

We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated (5.30 booking) so had a drink while deciding what to order. We had finished main course by 6/6.05. The waitress came over at 6.15. She asked if we were done or would like dessert. I said yes. She said: "well you'll have to order it and eat it quickly as we'll need the table back in 15 minutes." She then cleared plates and didn't return for nearly 10 mins to take our dessert order! When I asked why the rush she said tables were only available for a limited time, so clearly 60 minutes. There is nothing on the website to this effect. When i got the bill it was £170 and not for our table. Then we got correct one and they didn't rush back with the card machine! It put a big dampener on what was a celebratory 30th birthday meal. An expensive meal too.

It was okay. Meat was great, but potatoes were poor. Most of the Yorkshire's were a bit burned. If I’m honest, it was all a bit cold. Disappointing as we love it there and we’re really looking forward to it.

They were very busy which is good but meant food was a bit slow to come out but completely worth the wait. Always great steaks and cooked perfectly and very tasty!

Changed slightly from our last visit. No garlic butter on steak and no mushroom. Beey nice though. Steak cooked perfectly. Service slower than usual tonight, maybe short staffed

only time i’ve had a problem was cold cauliflower cheese .. didn’t have it replaced as had to go back to work but was still charged

Food was cold and order drinks which didn’t turn up overall very disappointed this is our second visit there was disappointed first time but decided to try again won’t be going there again

Overall it was a good roast dinner however, barely enough gravy for the food! Yorkshire pudding was bone dry and a little burnt, asked for a jug of gravy and some horseradish and was told they couldn’t bring any because none of the little pots were washed!

Very nice steak. good atmosphere. But tables quite small. Would definitely go again.

A busy night but some of the food was warm not hot. A small incident with the waitress tripping and upsetting the salad over the table and the after meal coffee did not arrive and staff needed to be reminded. In fairness the staff credited the coffees and were appologetic over the food etc. One of the waitresses was new. I have had excellent food and service at their sister venue, The Dolphin at Bishampton, so will put this down to exceptional circumstances and give them another try in the future.

Excellent place, food was amazing and the service was second to none

Ounce was a very nice, cosy and quaint.. The Steaks were excellent cooked to requirements with the accompanying skins on fries. The sauces were excellent too.. It would have been nice to have a little garnish by way of cherry tomato or mushroom with maybe rocket as a garnish, i say this as a suggestion as it would give a great visual to add to an excellent dining experience.

Lovely steak yet again, friendly helpful staff, love the atmosphere downstairs but unfortunately upstairs and found it quiet and cosy seating.
