Stunning food, we came to the "£1 an ounce" evening, and chose 12oz each with the butchers jus, cauliflower cheese, tenderstem with chimichurri, and garlic button mushrooms, our steaks were medium rare and Oh Lordy they were AMAZING so succulent and tender, we will most definitely be back!!

As usual the waiters were attentive and helpful. I was a little disappointed to discover that there was no salad garnish with the steak although I understand that in order to keep the cost low something has to go. My steak was a little chewy but my husband's was very tender.

Ounce has a great vibe—cozy but stylish—and the food is seriously next level. The steaks are the real deal: juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Sides were awesome too. The staff are super friendly and know their stuff. It’s the kind of spot where you feel relaxed but still get an amazing meal. Totally worth it for a night out or special occasion.

Our experience at Ounce was not good. I’ve not been there for 12 months and what a difference in attitude. I had booked a table for four on a Thursday lunch time. There was a great offer £5 for burgers. Thursday-Saturday. Considering how much they usually are we thought that was brilliant!On arrival the place was empty apart from just two diners, never a good sign. When we came to order we were told there was no such offer so I showed them the screen shots of the offer and my booking reference. Oh that’s not on any longer the waitress said, Instead they only had an offer on the steak at £20 per head plus sides…I explain we had travelled an hour in traffic on my partners birthday, would they still honour the deal?Or at least just for the children But the manger said no . All I can offer you is the small children’s size burger and that would be the standard charge on the menu. It was all quite embarrassing.When your looking at £200 bill instead of a cheeky £50 that’s quite a different. The manager said thanks guys as we left , see you again soon. Very condescending. Anyway we walked up the road to The Talbot where we were greeted by a friendly bar maid. We all had steaks , desserts and coffee for under £70. And it was delicious. Ounce have made it very difficult to write a review on their page. I wonder why…

Food was average, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Service a bit slow to start but once ordered it came in a timely manner.
