One of several locations worldwide, Patara has made its mark on the global dining scene with its high-end Thai specialities, superlative service and sophisticated dining spaces. The newly opened Hampstead location is carrying the torch for the brand, and situated over two floors with space for up to 110 guests, the restaurant is certain to become a huge hit with large groups and guests looking to enjoy private dining. You’ll find this stunning outlet along London’s Hampstead High Street, only steps from Hampstead underground station.
With restaurants in Vienna, Thailand, Beijing and Singapore just to name a few, Patara has truly become a world leader in the Thai dining scene. The name is now synonymous with innovative Thai cooking, and through their exquisite offerings, Patara is a positive representative for the cuisine wherever they happen to set up shop. The new Hampstead branch aims to keep up the tradition the brand has maintained in London for over twenty years, and with its gorgeous interior and incredible cuisine, the outlook is very, very good.
No matter which Patara location you visit around the world, you can always count on enjoying a phenomenal meal that will stun the senses and the tastebuds. At the Hampstead High Street location, you’ll be smart to start off with appetisers like the duck spring rolls or lime & chilli scallops before selecting from home-style mains like the panang beef, tamarind duck confit, lamb with wild ginger, or the chicken kieaw wan, free-range chicken cooked in a delicious green curry sauce with bamboo shoots, sweet basil and green chillies. We recommend the lemongrass sea bass served with crispy shallots and roasted red chilli, or the amazing lobster pad Thai for a gourmet take on an old favourite. Reservations are a must when planning to dine at this legendary Thai restaurant in the heart of London’s Hampstead.
This is a lovely restaurant, the staff are so friendly and attentive. My husband and I enjoyed our visit here. The food was so lovely. Will definitely be visiting again.
all good, food is good, people are nice nothing to complain really. minimum of 25 words to blag about, curry, tom yum, Chang beer and some random potatoes on the ceiling
Great food and atmosphere with lovely friendly staff. Would highly recommend to anyone. The food was outstanding and would recommend any of the mains as they were all great
Great service, great food. Highly recommend Patara Hampstead to anybody looking for a modern (yet authentic) Thai option in London. I was surprised at the quality of the food experience, especially having a bias that you can really only eat good Thai food in Thailand.
A really fantastic experience. Our table was delayed - in order to offer us a better slot away from the drafty entrance - but this was mitigated by the very kind offer of complimentary drinks. Once seated we began a very enjoyable evening. The food and service were excellent - our waiter was switched on enough to notice that our puddings were not quite as molten as they should be an whipped them away to ensure that we had them at optimum temperature and consistency... The staff clearly have a great attention to detail and I can't wait to eat there again.
Lovely dinner on a Saturday night in Hampstead. Food was delicious especially the tuna carpaccio, sea bass and the papaya salad. A couple of mistakes were made but didn't spoil our evening- avocado was missing from our salmon and avocado salad (our waiter had another one made for us with the avocado), the chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream came with vanilla ice cream (again a portion of the correct ice cream was bought over when we Enquiries). And then 3 extra items were added to our bill total increasing it by £40 more than what we should've paid. So check your bill carefully. The service was lovely and mistakes were rectified and we will definitely go back.
We had heard that the food at Patara was excellent, and we were not disappointed. However, the service was lacking. For the amount of money we were paying for the meal, we were expecting the service to match. This was not the case. The staff seemed uninterested and generally not caring about providing a friendly, top notch service. My husband ordered a glass of dessert wine with our pudding. When it did not arrive with the desserts we mentioned this to a passing waiter, who did not seem to know what to do. Five minutes later we asked again. Finally after reminding the staff three times the wine came, after we had already finished the desserts and were ready to go. Most restaurants at this stage would have not charged the customer. Patara did!! We will not readily be going back.
As usual, the food was spectacular. We took the Patara Ocean menu and we never get tired of it. Better than Michelin-starred Asian restaurants we have been to. My brother is a Chef in France and was impressed by the freshness of the food and the wonderful play with spices and herbs. We would 100% recommend this restaurant again and again and will continue to bring our friends and family for a treat! Thank you for the great care you are taking in your dishes and the service.
I first went to Patari for lunch last week and was delighted with the restaurant and the reasonably priced lunch menu. On the strength of this took a friend there for dinner and was little disappointed. It was v busy but service was ok. The dinner menu I felt was somewhat overpriced. I had a mixed seafood dish with a very subtle curry base which was exquisite, but my friends beef with coconut was dull and the meat a little tough. I would go back but I think only for lunch.
We would return because the food was very good indeed, much better than many Thai restaurants we know. The staff were very welcoming and patient, although we ended up wondering if the place was understaffed. However, we asked for a quiet table which would have been possible upstairs; instead we were seated the very noisy downstairs room. Service was incredibly slow. Our food was warm enough to eat; the table next to ours had to send theirs back because it arrived cold.
