Very cute place with a friendly atmosphere. The place had in many different crowds from younger couples, older couples and families with children and babies and accommodated for them all. Would definitely recommend the bar and the food. My only criticism would be the gravy 😂 it needed to be a bit thicker but then I am a bit of a gravy snob ☺️

Loved it! Our waiter was charming, We were a little late as there was a problem parking, but the table was still waiting for us! Delicious food, not too filling and served promptly which was perfect as we had theatre tickets. We will be visiting again!

Amazing homemade chips, with lovely chilli and rice. Excellent friendly service too.

Great atmosphere, great food ,unfortunately let down by the young man preparing the hanging kebabs at the bar licking the sauce from his fingers while putting the kebabs on the hangers

Had great food and always friendly staff, as always when I visit York.

Enjoyed the food. The bar staff were friendly & cheerful. Only thing we didn't like was that the Old Peculier, our favourite beer, was served so cold tht it took away the taste.

As usual we had a fantastic meal and the staff are great 😀

our table was available as soon as we arrived, it was the table we requested on the booking. The food was excellent and came within a reasonable timescale even though the restaurant was very busy. The service was very good and anything we requested came very quickly. A really enjoyable meal. Thank you

Great food , great staff and a great location !

The waiting staff were amazing, happily adapting the children’s menu for our vegetarian child. All our meals were a good size and tasted amazing. The prices were really great value. Would recommend to anyone.

Great service, lovely food although we did order too much and couldn't finish it. Good mix of people, most of us were going to the Opera House opposite. Would definitely go again to this well established friendly bar

Amazing atmosphere, good table and bar service, Sunday Lunch good value, great food with excellent choice of different meats, only downside food could have been a little hotter. Will go back again.

Lovely food, great atmosphere and by sheer luck the men in our party were able to watch the rugby on the screen nearby.

Excellent service. Annoyed we had to move from our reserved table so that the band could set up before we had even finished our meal.

We booked for a family get together at 5pm on Saturday. There were 9 of us and were seated in the window area which is quite closed off from the rest of the bar. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady who I had spoken to on the phone. She really made us feel welcome providing crayons and colouring paper for my grandson and making sure we were all comfortable. The service from start to finish was excellent even though the restaurant was quickly filling up with racegoers etc. The food was fantastic and the menu was very varied and had plenty of veggie options. Overall we had a very enjoyable time and will definitely be back! Thanks to Plonkers for making our visit so enjoyable!
