Polpo - Brighton

Great restaurant. Good atmosphere especially when going in a small group. The only reason my visit this time didn't get a higher score is because our table wasn't ready for when we booked, had to wait for 25 minutes. That said, the staff were lovely and gave some nibbles as we waited.

We were a table for 3 on a Saturday night. The food was very good and our waiter was helpful regarding the quantities of dishes we needed.

Excellent Gluten Free / Allergen menu. The food was excellent.

Really great service & yummy food! Can especially recommend the Hake & the Zucchini fries. Menu & portion sizes could perhaps do with a little more explanation though. Will definitely return and try more dishes

Delighted with this find. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are friendly and informative. As it’s small plates we had a little bit of everything and the lamb shank. Frito misto and crostini’s were amazing. Looking forward to our next visit

Had a great time at Polpo, waiter was very helpful explaining about the many dishes available, he recommended three each and this was just right. The food was delicious, we will definitely come again.

Food was great as usual but service was slow and not attentive enough. We had to prompt our waiter a few times for various things and couldn’t help but feel the servers were simply ‘smiling and nodding’ when we asked for things and they just walked on and didn’t really help with our questions.

Food was exceptional, every dish we tried was so tasty and delicious. It’s a little pricey but well worth it. It was so busy and waiters were having to dash about and there was a little bit of a wait but still food came in plenty time for us to get to the theatre. Very enjoyable experience for a birthday celebration. We will definitely come back as it felt like a real treat.

Wasn't expecting it to be a tapas style restaurant, would have been ideal to have it written somewhere on the website. We weren't told this when we arrived either, nor was it written on the menus in front of us. Nevertheless, the food was very good. However, wouldn't be my first choice of restaurant if visiting Brighton again

I've been to Polpo twice in the last month. It's consistent in all areas and fairly priced. Highly recommend.

Only 1 thing, if bringing a dog, tell them. The tables are very close together, but I'm sure they'll accommodate to find a corner table.

Great food and decorative atmosphere too. Cool and knowledgeable staff were happy to share their passion for food which made our dining experience even more enjoyable 😍

Food, wine and service were good but tables / diners are packed in. The restaurant was full with a high proportion of groups out for a party night so, unsurprisingly, the noise level was wearing and the acoustics aren’t great. Maybe the message is to avoid Friday / Sat. nights unless you like a chorus of shrieks with your zucchini.

Always a great meal. Service was really good, and the food is incredible. Ideal if you like lots of small plates to share or try new things. Will keep returning.

It was a pre-theatre occasion. We loved the creative food - different to any other - and the service was spot on. By some standards the food was quite expensive - but worth it!
