Polpo - Brighton

There were four of us and we ordered a variety of different dishes and just shared. It was excellent. The staff were very helpful and attentive and the atmosphere was cosy and relaxing. A fabulous evening.

Great staff, excellent quality of food and super accommodating of food allergies

Unavoidably, because it was New Year's Eve, the restaurant was extremely busy - and very noisy. But the staff were excellent - fast service and very attentive and obliging. The food was not as good as usual - lamb chop was bony and didn't have much meat on it. However, the waiter did offer an alternative. As we did not want that, he took the item off the bill which was very much appreciated. It has not put us off going again or recommending Polpo.

It was lovely. Really enjoyed and service was great. Would recommend.

I've always enjoyed coming here. Staff are consistently helpful and friendly, and the food really tasty. However, the new, apparently shrunken, menu is a disappointment. There seems to be less variety, and the veggie options were plain dull...... very greasy and lacking in flavour.

Met here for lunch with a friend, we were offered a table for four which was great and much appreciated as it gave us more room. The restaurant was a little cold but as other diners joined the room warmed up. The waitress who repeated our order forgot one of the dishes, after mentioning this, it arrived almost as we'd finished eating - - if it weren't for this error I would have rated more highly.

Great attentive service, food was tasty. Understand it was Saturday but we were a couple sat next to a large table of around 12 people who were very noisy and boisterous which did spoil the ambeince. Overall good though.

Unfortunately, some of the dishes were way overpriced for what you got. £4.50 for 3 stuffed olives is ridiculous, or £7.50 for a tiny glass of prosecco (which had no flavour of white peach syrup). The menu was really unclear too and confusing. The staff were friendly though.

The food is excellent, lots of sharing plates with every dish being different but full of flavour and texture. Noise isn't an issue unless you;'re looking for quiet conversation, it's more vibrant and social so very good for families or larger groups. Well worth a visit...and another...

Quiet mid-week lunch. Nice imaginative menu. Helpful people and incredibly quick, but that was probably because it was quiet.

Lovely meal all round - and had a delicious sipsmith mocktail. The crab and chilli linguine is usually my favourite dish but wasn't as flavoursome and creamy as it has been in the past..
