We arrived early and it was really busy but they still accomodated. Made space at the front desk so we could drink our wine as the bar was full. We managed to get a table 15 mts before our scheduled time and were looked after really well the entire time. (it was a very busy Sat evening). The food was amazing...especially the Lamb shanks, the spicy octopus and the Tiramisu! Will definitely be going back.

So pleased to have found this place. I'll be doing some work at a theatre nearby, so this will be great. Lovely, cosy place. Staff were very warm and welcoming. A few tiny glitches, with misplaced orders, and a bill! Didn't matter - because by then we loved it. Lamb chops with anchovy butter: decadent. Meatballs - perfect [when my husband hung onto the last scrapings of tomato sauce, he was offered more. Nice] A good wine list. And grappa. Wonder if the theatre could generate any more writing work for me.......? ;)

Brilliant staff who did their best to get us seated when diners would not vacate our allotted table. Great food and ambience as ever.

went to the Tutankhamun exhibition at 3, with a show at the RAH at 7.30 so booked for 5 wanting a bolthole to grab some food, so this place is ideal and close to Sloane tube. Read the mixed reviews and whilst I can understand some comments, really liked this place. The staff were excellent and explained well the menu. Great buzzy atmosphere, tables a little close together and a group who came in after us and sat on the next table might as well have sat on us! No worries thought, the food was excellent, try the arrancini, meatballs with fennel, gnocchi. As i say, staff really nice and friendly, would come back here, without doubt.

I went to polpo for a first date, the place is beautiful and the ambience supper nice although, I got disappointed with the food, not that tasty as I was expecting, once it’s tapas and I am Portuguese, I though it would taste a bit like home. Disappointed for the lack of taste and the extreme small portions. Not worth the Money for the food we got. Do not intente to go back again.

Always fast and friendly service, and delicious small dishes for either a quick bite or in combination for a larger hunger

Booked a table so no waiting time although the place was full. The tables are very close together making it impossible not to overhear adjacent conversations. The service was quick. The food was good but tiny portions. I would estimate the cost of the ingredients for the 2 meals would have been less than £5. Obviously a popular place but I can't see why.

Nice venue, lovely staff, food fine. I’ve only given 4 because they’d changed the menu which was disappointing. I’ll check the menu before we go back.

Been to other branches. This one very poor in terms of quality of food that lacked any real flavour. The crostini is the worst I have had being just bits of various things on bread. The fried fish was awful. We had to catch the staff’s attention to get service. The door was often left open so really cold.

Having eaten at the Brighton polpo many times I expected this to be of the same standard. How disappointed I was. ☹️ The food was cold, portion size was a lot smaller (my croquettes were the size of wotsits) the roast potatoes were under cooked with no crisp so almost like a boiled potato. The staff hovered around us almost trying to speed us up for the next sitting even though there were many empty tables. They also looked very scruffy with crumpled clothes and woolly hats. All in all I will not be returning to this Polio again.

Great atmosphere. Buzzing. Pleasant service. Food really nice but as tapas it came out gradually and sides ordered with the meat course did not come out at the same time meaning we ate a plate of rosemary roast potatoes on their own! Very dry! But next time we will know better!

It was ok. The main course was mostly good. The puddings weren’t. The service was rather grim faced and not especially helpful. Overall, just ok. Not more.

Tables too close together. I used to go to Polpo in Farringdon years ago. The quality of the food has really diminished since then.

One waitress, a young blond girl, looked like she was angry. She was quite unpleasant. But a girl with brunette hair was smiley and lovely. I didn’t refuse to pay the service charge because of the brunette girl. No lunch booking before 12

They could do with more staff at busy times like lunchtime as we often had to get up to grab someone's attention, they didn't have any of the wines that we wanted either but explained after quite a wait and we chose something delicious. We were two single females catching up with a lot of couples/families with children either side, however, they were well behaved and so it wasn't an issue, however, it would have been good to have more choice of where to sit if it had become an issue.
