Brilliant staff who did their best to get us seated when diners would not vacate our allotted table. Great food and ambience as ever.
went to the Tutankhamun exhibition at 3, with a show at the RAH at 7.30 so booked for 5 wanting a bolthole to grab some food, so this place is ideal and close to Sloane tube. Read the mixed reviews and whilst I can understand some comments, really liked this place. The staff were excellent and explained well the menu. Great buzzy atmosphere, tables a little close together and a group who came in after us and sat on the next table might as well have sat on us! No worries thought, the food was excellent, try the arrancini, meatballs with fennel, gnocchi. As i say, staff really nice and friendly, would come back here, without doubt.
I went to polpo for a first date, the place is beautiful and the ambience supper nice although, I got disappointed with the food, not that tasty as I was expecting, once it’s tapas and I am Portuguese, I though it would taste a bit like home. Disappointed for the lack of taste and the extreme small portions. Not worth the Money for the food we got. Do not intente to go back again.
Always fast and friendly service, and delicious small dishes for either a quick bite or in combination for a larger hunger
Booked a table so no waiting time although the place was full. The tables are very close together making it impossible not to overhear adjacent conversations. The service was quick. The food was good but tiny portions. I would estimate the cost of the ingredients for the 2 meals would have been less than £5. Obviously a popular place but I can't see why.
Nice venue, lovely staff, food fine. I’ve only given 4 because they’d changed the menu which was disappointing. I’ll check the menu before we go back.
Food is average and expensive. Place is small and cosy
A special thank you to our server, Diana for guiding us through the menu to take account of our food allergies.
Been to other branches. This one very poor in terms of quality of food that lacked any real flavour. The crostini is the worst I have had being just bits of various things on bread. The fried fish was awful. We had to catch the staff’s attention to get service. The door was often left open so really cold.
Having eaten at the Brighton polpo many times I expected this to be of the same standard. How disappointed I was. ☹️ The food was cold, portion size was a lot smaller (my croquettes were the size of wotsits) the roast potatoes were under cooked with no crisp so almost like a boiled potato. The staff hovered around us almost trying to speed us up for the next sitting even though there were many empty tables. They also looked very scruffy with crumpled clothes and woolly hats. All in all I will not be returning to this Polio again.
Lunch as birthday treat with friend. Then onto the Tutankhamun show at the Saatchi gallery
Very good restaurant. Only downside is the tables were very close to each other
Great atmosphere. Buzzing. Pleasant service. Food really nice but as tapas it came out gradually and sides ordered with the meat course did not come out at the same time meaning we ate a plate of rosemary roast potatoes on their own! Very dry! But next time we will know better!
It was ok. The main course was mostly good. The puddings weren’t. The service was rather grim faced and not especially helpful. Overall, just ok. Not more.
Tables too close together. I used to go to Polpo in Farringdon years ago. The quality of the food has really diminished since then.
A faithful transplant of their Soho branch. Note that there are only a few tables indoors
One waitress, a young blond girl, looked like she was angry. She was quite unpleasant. But a girl with brunette hair was smiley and lovely. I didn’t refuse to pay the service charge because of the brunette girl. No lunch booking before 12
First visit, restaurant a little compact, nice atmosphere, no one was sure about the menu which surprised everyone better than expected would go again if in the area
Good food, pleasant staff, convivial atmosphere, would go back for another visit
Nice atmosphere and good tasting food. Enthusiastic waitresses giving good service.
They could do with more staff at busy times like lunchtime as we often had to get up to grab someone's attention, they didn't have any of the wines that we wanted either but explained after quite a wait and we chose something delicious. We were two single females catching up with a lot of couples/families with children either side, however, they were well behaved and so it wasn't an issue, however, it would have been good to have more choice of where to sit if it had become an issue.
Very nice food and good service. We will go again next time we’re in that part of London
Very good food, very reasonably priced, great service. Just need more seats indoors!
Great food nice setting good price and nice staff .
Fitted us in even though we were late from Tutankhamen Exhibition! Friendly and quick service 😊
Polpo is amazing. It's charming and fun just like it's staff.
Quick pre-Saatchi Gallery visit - just the job quickly done and good food
Great service and excellent food - we had a great time
Good service but unfortunately the food standard was below expected.
Food was really delicious. The waiting time was very less. The staff was very friendly and helped us in selecting the right dishes.
Really inviting atmosphere : staff attentive, despite being very busy!
As ever Great Service, fantastic food, this restaurant has got it right, bravo
A very nice spot for lunch, genuine atmosphere, not a chain
More options would have been great, it is Tapas after all. Otherwise a very enjoyable dinner, great staff and a great place for a date
Great atmosphere, wonderful food, staff friendly and efficient, worth a visit
Good restaurant with good foodz music a bit loud and an few dishes forgotten by the server, otherwise a great visit would come again.
Friendly service, good food and a nice atmosphere. I would definitely return.
wine was awful (only one rose and sweet) and our waiting staff member clearly wished not to be there
Best food ever and great service too! Perfect restaurant for every occasion
Lovely food. Very good value. Good atmosphere. So, why do they play loud music, through a cheap sound system with the bass turned up too high that makes conversation impossible?
It was a lovely catch up with two other girlfriends and mostly the staff saw us when we needed something, they weren't hugely busy as it was the half term lull, however, the menu had updated and food was delicious, service was perfect when it happened so all good.
Superb food and atmospherec would highly recommend. 5 * service
Great food and ambiance with attentive staff . will go again
Great place for lunch time food just off the Kings Road. Food was good quality, not rushed and great service. Very enjoyable
we enjoyed the visit very much ...very good value for money
Great location, Great food , great service and great atmosphere
Nice meal, nice service Thanks very much , we were very pleased
Relaxed but effective service. Great food. We sat outside and the umbrella heaters were on and blankets were already on the chairs in case needed. It was chilly and wish I’d brought a sweater or jilet. But an enjoyable meal experience
Good food with reasonable price. Service was good but the music from the speaker was slightly noisy.
Absolutely fantastic food, the waiting service was quite slow, I think because they were busy but everyone was very friendly. The food service was fast and the food incredible, so delicious - we will definitely be back!
